This is simply an AMAZING story! The mystery itself keeps you going right till the end! WOW, what a journey!!!
I loved the characters, the storyline, and living in England really enjoyed being so vividly transported to Lost Creek Colorado! What a thrill, well done indeed!!! :)

Excellent, thoroughly enjoyed this one. It’s a really fast paced mixture of historic missing person mystery, namely a grandma and her four year old grandson and a contemporary murder, quickly followed by a cop suicide which doesn’t sit right….. I loved the writing and the characterisation and the build ups and twist in the storylines. The personal traumas and backstories of the lead characters were also well developed and I loved the canine contribution! I’ve read books by this author previously and will definitely seek out more. Only one minor niggle, the token Brit didn’t really ‘sound’ British to me, is all (see what I did there?) Maybe he’s picked up the accent / speech.

I really like this series. I like Madison and Nate, think they would be a great couple. This starts off with one murder but turns into being about 4 murders. Good twists and turns. Thanks to Netgalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my opinion

Another brilliant book from Wendy Dranfield.
I love catching up with Madison, Nate and Brody and as usual danger is not too far away from them.
Madison is investigating the murder of a young woman who has been shot in her own home.
She’s expecting Douglas back on duty but when he doesn’t show, she becomes worried.
Nate has been asked by Vince to find out what happened to his wife and grandson as he can’t rest until he knows.
I won’t say anymore as you need to see how it all unfolds…
There’s some great twists to this story and I didn’t see any of them coming.
This is another gripping read in a brilliant series which I highly recommend.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

Book 4 in the Detective Madison Harper Series and it’s another cracker of a read. Set mainly in the present with a number of flashback chapters to 6 years earlier, including the prologue telling of the murder of Mrs Rosemary Hendricks. This was a unputdownable book that grabbed my attention from the off. Could be read as a stand-alone but the series is so good I would recommend starting at the beginning and getting a good knowledge of the background. You will thank me.

Briefly, Madison, is called out to the murder scene of Terri Summers, a care worker and seemingly a woman with no enemies. But before the investigation can get underway Madison’s police partner is found dead, appearing to have committed suicide. Meanwhile PI Nate Monroe, Madison’s closest friend, has agreed to investigate a cold case, the disappearance of a young child and his grandmother, 6 years earlier. When connections are found between the two cases the two detectives find themselves working in concert again. Can they solves the current murders and find the missing people, or their bodies?

I love this series, particularly the lead characters Madison and Nate, and of course the incomparable Brody - the most loyal of friends! There has always been a bit of a simmering attraction between them (the two legged ones) and I so wanted to see them get together in this book; obviously I can’t tell you if they do, you need to read the book. With twists and turns throughout I was constantly changing my mind about the outcome but I never guessed the truth. Brilliant. I can’t wait for the next instalment ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is book #4 in the Madison Harper Series.I loved the first three and I loved this one.

There are a few crimes to solve in this installment. Ruby and her grandson have been missing for years. Terri is murdered in her home.

Madison and her team are hard at work to solve them. I like all the characters and am interested in how their lives progress through each book.

There was one scene that brought tears to my eyes.

Always waiting for the next one to come out. I hope this series goes for many more books.

Many thanks to netgalley and Bookouture for the advance copy.

Solid outing for Wendy Dranfield and her characters in the Detective Madison Harper series. Could a double disappearance of long ago be connected to what is now going on in Lost Creek? The characters seem real and there is plenty of action to keep you engaged.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this ARC!

I absolutely loved this book. When I was about half way through I messaged my reading buddy and told her there was another series that we needed to start.

The book opens with a prologue showing us the murder of Mrs Rosemary Hendricks 6 years earlier. We then move on to the current timeline and another murder, Terri a carehome assistant who everybody loved. Why would anyone want to murder her? While Madison is investigating what happened to Terri, he best friend and private investigator Nate has been asked to investigate a cold case, 6 years earlier Vince's wife and grandson disappeared, he wants closure, he needs to know what happened. He can't imagine his wife ran off with somebody and took her grandson with her but at the same time, if they'd been murdered, surely their bodies would have been found?

There are some terrific characters in here, aside from the main two. Everyone is so well drawn. There is obviously murder and violence, but it's not graphic. I may have even shed a tear at one point!

This is the first book of Wendy Dransfield's that I've read, although it's the fourth in the series. I'll definitely be going back and reading her earlier books.

Say what???? Man, sorry my brain is still stumbling through it all. This is a first time author, first time read for me. Some true gritty stuff that happens in real life (Nate) dealt with taste and truth in the series. I want to read the first 3 books but if my heart hurts for Madison and Nate now I don't know if I could handle the first 3. There is so much going on, you can relate what Detective Madison goes through, here job, her life, her friendship with Nate. A twisty tale of murder, loss woven so tightly that you don't see the ending coming. I am grateful for the rays of sunshine and hope that the author weaves through. I am in love with Brody (the 4 legged ex police dog) and was thrilled to meet Madison's dad. I am so looking forward the the next one and am working diligently at putting on my big girl panties to go back and read 1-3. An incredible who done it, police procedural, with all the feels and then some. Thank you Bookouture, NetGalley for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts an opinions.

While Detective Madison Harper is in charge of investigating the murder of a care worker, PI Nate Monroe has been hired to look into a cold case. A woman and her grandson who disappeared six years ago. When Madison receives upsetting news that a close colleague has committed suicide, she refuses to believe he has taken his own life. And when she finds a connection between the care worker and the dead lawman, she requests another autopsy, convinced the two deaths are linked.

This is the fourth book in the Madison Harper/Nate Monroe series and in my opinion the best yet. The storyline is gripping and keeps you guessing all the way (although I have to say I had my suspicions about one character). Wendy’s writing simply flows onto the page. I love the way the relationship between Maddie and Nate is developing and also the addition of one new character who looks as though they are going to stay around for a while. Nate’s dog Brody has also become an essential part of the team.
As with the other books in this series, you get the feeling although everything has been wrapped up and the case solved, there is more to come – I do hope so!
Looking forward to what’s in store next for our crime fighting couple.

I would like to thank Bookouture, Wendy Dranfield and Netgalley for an ARC of Gone to Her Grave in exchange for an honest review.

I think Madison seriously needs to relocate from Lost Creek! In the 4th installment of the Madison Harper series, get ready for your jaw to drop a few times. Mine sure did as I immersed myself in past and present murders. Nate delves into Vince’s wife and grandson’s disappearance and Madison has to contend with two deaths. Dranfield really upped her game with this one.
As usual, Brody steals several scenes, although he does a feline rival.
A blast from Madison’s past adds a new angle to the next book.

Wendy Dranfield has done it again, with this latest instalment of her incredible series! I have read all the books in the series so far and it is going from strength to strength. You CAN read this book as a standalone but it is much, much better if you read the series from the beginning as you will understand what happened to both Madison and Nate at the start and how they came to have such a strong bond.

There is all sorts of intrigue happening in Lost Creek, and Madison is struggling to get to the bottom of it all. There are family members who pop in and out, a team member who ends up murdered and the case of the disappearance of a much-loved grandmother and grandson from 6 years ago which Nate is asked to take another look at.

A fast-paced book, a tightly woven plot and amazing characters. What more do you want?

5 stars from me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture.

Gone to Her Grave is the fourth book in the Detective Madison Harper series but the past is mentioned in a way that I feel this book could be read as a standalone. Thanksgiving is turning out to be pretty lousy for Madison as early morning starts with a homicide and the day ends with a fellow officer’s suicide. Madison’s best friend, Nate has been hired by the local diner owner to take over the cold case for his missing wife and grandson. Both cases twists and turn fast enough to make your head spin. Full of suspense and surprises, the story will place you on the edge of your seat and leave you gasping for breath in shock. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from NetGalley.

Thank you to #NetGalley for my advance copy of #GoneToHerGrave by #WendyDranfield
Detective Madison Harper is called out to the murder of a young woman Terri Summers.
With her only suspect ruled out Madison is struggling to find answers, then comes another death and a very tenuous link to the disappearance 6 years ago of an elderly woman and her 4 year old grandson.
Fast moving and exciting I didn’t put this book down until I’d finished it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A well written, gripping, and twisty read. At times heart stopping and sometimes heart breaking, this was a real page turner. Madison and Nate are interesting and strong characters and work well together. They've had to overcome so much to get where they are, and they continue to evolve. I hope we get to see more of Nate's wonderful dog Brody too. I look forward to reading the next one.

Oh my goodness...what a fast-paced read! Wendy Dranfield has done it again. Gone to Her Grave is book number 4 in the Detective Madison Harper series and it does not disappoint. It is thrilling, exciting and everything a good detective novel should be.

This book picks up just a few months after book 3, and while there is enough backstory provided that it could be read on its own, I highly recommend reading the series in order for the full effect and to see where it began, how Madison and Nate met and how Brody entered the series.

Gone to Her Grave may be my favourite of the series yet. This book is exciting, fast-paced, and keeps you guessing right to the end. I loved how this book had several layers and storylines and how we got to see more into Madison's history. And I really enjoy watching the relationship between Madison and Nate evolve.

Can't wait for book number 5!

Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Wendy Dranfield. I received a complementary ePub of this book. This review is voluntary and as always all opinions are my own.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of Gone to Her Grave, the fourth novel to feature Detective Madison Harper of the Lost Creek, Colorado Police Department.

Madison is called out to the murder of Terri Summers, found dead of a gunshot wound in her home. Who would want to kill the kind, cheerful young woman? Madison doesn’t know, but she does know it was was someone Terri knew. The investigation slows when Madison has to deal with the death of a department member and resurrect the cold case of the disappearance of Ruby Rader and her grandson, Oliver, six years previously.

I thoroughly enjoyed Gone to Her Grave, which is an absorbing read with plenty of twists and turns. It is mostly told from Madison’s point of view with her friend Nate Monroe making the odd salient interjection, which allows the reader an uninterrupted dive into the investigation.

I was pleasantly surprised by the plot, which takes a road less traveled approach. By that I mean that it is quite unusual in its developments and conclusion when I wasn’t expecting anything like that. That sounds vague, but it’s impossible to say more without spoilers. Let’s just say that the twists caught me by surprise and I was impressed by the author’s imagination and lateral thinking, not to mention her ability to pull all the threads together into a cogent whole. I was immersed from the start and read it in one sitting.

I have read all the novels in the series so I’m maybe not the best judge, but I think this works well as a stand-alone. There are no ongoing threads or cliffhangers so it is self contained and both Madison’s and Nate’s rather lurid pasts are satisfactorily recapped for new readers. They have a strong bond and are close friends with the hint of something more in the offing. I like them and am always happy to spend time with them.

Gone to Her Grave is a good that I have no hesitation in recommending.
