Another captivating read by Lisa Regan. Absolute love the Jose Quinn Detective Series. Such a tense read I could not put this book down that kept me on the edge of my seat. I cannot recommend this book enough. Already looking forward to the next one.

Lying on the ground, the girl’s prom dress, the color of champagne, shimmers in the dying light. A corsage of wilting pink sweetheart roses decorates her wrist. She is perfectly still, like a delicate china doll, trapped forever in a sleep from which she will never wake…

When a call comes in about a young girl found dead at a high school prom—her life drained away from a fatal stab wound—Detective Josie Quinn drops everything to attend the scene. Taking in the girl’s neatly braided hair, Josie feels a flicker of recognition. But no one comes forward to identify this innocent child, murdered on what should have been the happiest night of her life.

Trawling missing persons files, Josie realizes where she has seen the girl before. Gemma Farmer disappeared a few months ago, shattering her family. But why would her body appear now, on her sixteenth birthday? Josie’s only clue is the five neat little cuts on Gemma’s pale arm. Days later, another missing girl shows up, tucked neatly into her bed on the morning of her birthday, her favourite teddy beside her, her skin as cold as ice—and the autopsy reveals scars on her arm matching Gemma’s.

Her head spinning, Josie’s fears the marks are a serial killer’s twisted way of counting his victims. How many other innocent lives have already been lost, and how many more could follow? The case takes a terrifying turn when a local girl goes missing just days before she turns sixteen.

Clock ticking, Josie turns the town upside down in search of answers. But when her own chief comes forward with the missing piece of a devastating puzzle spanning decades, will it be enough to get inside the mind of the most unexpected and elusive killer she has ever encountered, or will another precious life be taken?

Watch her disappear gives fans of this series insight into the the enigma that is Chief Chitwood. The gruff, abrasive and difficult to like boss.

Here we see him in all his stripped vulnerability with a heartbreaking history. In a weird way, I’m glad of this and feel it was well placed in the series (this is book 14). It was definitely time to give the readers the opportunity to explain why he is the way he is.

I devoured this book in two days! Literally couldn’t put it down. It’s one of my favourites of the series to date.

It *could* be read as a standalone, but I often recommend this author to others as a great series to get truly invested in.

I've read all the Josie Quinn books so far, so I normally don't write reviews for them, being that they are sequels in a fantastic series. Lisa Regan continues to impress me, though. She never loses momentum in her writing and story telling, and Josie and the gang never get old for me. Each book in this series is an autobuy for me.

I really enjoy this series and this installment doesn't disappoint. Another fascinating case with plenty of twists and turns, and Josie is a great character as usual. Looking forward to reading more cases!

A young girl, in a champagne coloured prom dress looks peacefully asleep in a disused part of a Denton High School on Prom Night. When Detective Josie Quinn and team arrive on the scene they find 16 year old Gemma Farmer lying dead. A laceration on the inside of her leg caused her to bleed out. It soon transpires that Gemma was reported missing 4 months previously and tonight is her 16th birthday. So begins a case of current missing girls linking back to historical cases. One case in particular is close to home for one of the team. A great read!

Thank you NetGalley for my advance copy.

This is book 14 in the Josie Quinn series and it’s just as good now as it was at the start. I love that each addition to the series develops a different character and we get to know more about the team. This book shows us the human side of Chief Chitwood and gives us an insight into his life. It’s a fast paced, twisty read full of suspense and it kept me guessing until the end. A great series that I recommend reading from the start.

This is #14 in the Josie Quinn series, and what a read!

A young girl is found on prom night for the local high school, and the twists and turns start there as the team are trying to identify the young girl, but she is not one of pupils of that school.
The team realise that she is actually a missing person, who had gone missing some months earlier, but has been found on her 16th Birthday with some marks on her body.
Twists and turns throughout the book as the team discover more, but as usual finding out a little more about the characters and their lives whilst they are continuing their investigations.

Great read again from Lisa Regan and can't wait for #15.

It is hard to believe that this is the fourteenth book in the series featuring Detective Josie Quinn and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Josie and her team are called out to a case where a young girl’s body is found at a high school prom after being stabbed to death and has five little cuts on one of her wrists. They have trouble identifying her but Josie realises hat she looks familiar as she was in one of the missing persons files that Josie has been going through. Her name was Gemma Farmer who had gone missing a few months earlier. But where had she been since then and why would she have been found on her sixteenth birthday? When the body of another young girl is discovered on the morning of her sixteenth birthday and with similar cuts Josie realises that they have a serial killer on their hands. She also thinks that the cuts could indicate how many victims he has killed but where are they and how many more has he got planned. The case takes another turn when Josie’s boss, Chief Chitwood sees similarities to a cold case that he has been following for twenty five years as his own sister disappeared and was murdered. Is this a copycat killer or is it the same one ? This is a fast paced and gripping investigation as they have a race against time to find Erica. She is the latest girl to disappear and is approaching her sixteenth birthday. Will they find her before it is too late? This is another brilliant book and one I couldn’t put down. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

I get so excited when another book comes out in the Josie Quinn series - they are always such a good read! They are fast paced, thrilling and not a classic case of whodunnit. Typically, the books keep you guessing until the end when everything is explained and I love that. These are fantastic stories and I love the character development throughout the series. I would definitely recommend reading in order, just to pick up on the little things throughout the books. I cannot wait until the next one is released!

Can I give this twenty stars?! Seriously. I don’t know how Lisa Regan does it, but each book in the series is better than the one before it.

Here, the story opens with the team trying to help plan a honeymoon for Josie and Noah. But a call comes in – a young girl has been found dead at a high school prom. And with that, we’re off and running.

Josie and Noah aren’t so much front and center here. Instead, we get to see Josie interact with Chief Chitwood. Not only are they investigating the current murder, they’re also looking into the unsolved murder of the Chief’s sister, Kelsey. The unsolved murder on which the Chief’s father, Harlan Chitwood, was the lead investigator. Was the Chief’s father a crooked cop?

In this storyline, Regan gives us some fascinating insight into why Chief Chitwood is the way he is. We learn a lot about how his sister’s unsolved murder haunts him, and Josie begins to see why he’s always kept her and the other officers at arm’s length. We also see why he is so invested in solving this crime, knowing that doing so might finally bring justice for his sister.

And the twists and turns! At 68% of the book, I thought we knew who the killer was. But then he said, “I-nothing happened. Not before, and not this time.” Before?! Not this time?! And there’s the twist. And the story bolts off like a horse with a burr stuck under its saddle, and all I could do was keep on reading.

I read waaaaaaay past my bedtime with this one.

Josie Quinn is one of my favorite protagonists. She’s doing a hard job, but she doesn’t let it make her a hard person. Watch Her Disappear is a thrilling read, another masterful work by Lisa Regan. Go get it. Right now. All the stars from me.

A teenaged girl's body is discovered at a prom. She is not a student or guest but it is her 16th birthday. Death was caused by a single stab wound and she was drugged to reduce her suffering. The case sends shivers down the spine of Josie's Chief who had a personal connection to a similar murder 25 years earlier...
Watch Her Disappear is the 14th book to feature Detective Josie Quinn and her team which includes her husband Noah. There are mentions of events from previous books but no spoilers. In this book, her rather mysterious Chief finally takes centre stage as Josie discovers secrets from his past which impact on their current case.
Josie and Chief Chitwood take on the majority of the investigation in this book, with the rest of the team in the background. This changes the dynamic of the book as the pair establish a more personal connection. The Chief has always respected Josie but now he needs her help to find closure for a case that had haunted him for 25 years.
There is little graphic detail as the murder victims are treated with forensic objectivity. However, there are flashback chapters to events in the recent past so we see girls held captive. This creates an emotive response in the reader as we anticipate their demise. There are not many characters to choose from to be the killer, but I Iiked the way the suspense is maintained until the end.
Watch Her Disappear is an entertaining detective thriller.

This book was exactly the fast paced thriller that I crave! This story was a multiplex & completely gripping read.

Although this book is part of a series, this was my first read. Totally would recommend reading this as a stand-alone because it was not confusing and easy to follow (for someone, like myself, who has not read the previous books)!

The build up to the end is what kept me completely hooked & the best part was the ending leaving me completely in shock (I personally love a shocking ending)

This was an incredible read. I will go back and read the previous books just because I enjoyed this one so much!

I love Lisa Regan, Josie and her gang are some of my favourite fictional people. 14 books in the series and this has jumped right to the top as my favourite thus far. Before you read this review there will be mentions to previous books, so if you are yet to read any of the series take a week off work het a comfy blanket, a few bottles of wine and a box of tissues. It's one hell of a ride!!!

A young girl is found dead in a prom dress at the local school. on prom night. Problem is no one seems to know who this girl is and she isn't in any of the high schools so who is this girl? Although Josie and her team are on the case Chief Chitwood seems to be quite invested for reason we are not told about straight away. He only trusts Josie to begin with, with his secret but when it looks like he's being set up the rest of the team are there to clear his name, but with more girls missing is there enough time.

Firstly let me just say i never expected any story with Chitwood being the lead would leave me in tears, but the epilogue had me crying my eyes out for hours after. It was nice to learn more about the Chief especially since we know quire a lot about all the other members of the Quinn crew (not sure that's a phrase but it is now). We find out why he became an officer and his motivation for always getting cases closed.

Josie is just amazing as always, she is completely thrown by this case and it's m.o, when more teens start to go missing she knows its more than a coincidence but what do they all have in common other than being teens? We spent less time with Josie's personal life which of course i missed but being so engrossed in the story i was able to forgive the lack of personal life.
The prose was written extremely well as always i found it very engaging and i was completely engrossed and i couldn't put it down. I love reading a book cover to cover that's a sign of an excellent book and this was no different at all. i couldn't guess who the killer was so wanting to kept me reading even more!

in conclusion i totally recommend you read books 1 to 14 straight away if you haven't. The storyline was great and this was by far my favourite instalment. I honestly highly recommend 5 stars easily.

thanks to netgalley, bookouture and Lisa Regan for the digital ARC in exchange for my fair and honest review.

This is book #14 in this series, but since I believe it can be read as stand alone also. You will love Detective Josie Quinn! This hooked me immediately! When a girl's body is found outside at a prom, but nobody has seen her before, the mystery deepens. This storyline and plot twists will have you guessing until the very last page. What a jaw dropper! I'm grateful to Netgalley and Bookcouture for an advanced copy of this amazing book!

A riveting mystery that instantly made me go buy books one through three. This book (the 14th in the series) was the first Josie Quinn novel I had the pleasure of reading. While I was able to follow along easily, it dropped a few details that appeared to be spoilers of past storylines. So I might not recommend starting here. However, the storytelling was flawless. The characters were intriguing and relatable. The storyline was perfectly paced. I am so excited to have found a new series.
