Synopsis: When a call comes in about a young girl found dead at a high school prom—her life drained away from a fatal stab wound—Detective Josie Quinn drops everything to attend the scene. Taking in the girl’s neatly braided hair, Josie feels a flicker of recognition. But no one comes forward to identify this innocent child, murdered on what should have been the happiest night of her life. Her head spinning, Josie’s fears the marks are a serial killer’s twisted way of counting his victims. The case takes a terrifying turn when a local girl goes missing just days before she turns sixteen. Will it be enough to get inside the mind of the most unexpected and elusive killer she has ever encountered, or will another precious life be taken?
My Thoughts: This book is part of a Detective Josie Quinn series, but can be read as a standalone. In every book in this series thus far, the author has focused on a specific character to provide more background and personal history on. In this book, the focus was on the Chief and the missing girls. The case opens up right at the plot of a murder. The story was narrated from the current day with Detective Josie Quinn and three months ago with a mysterious narrator. There is also some narration of twenty years ago involving the Chief’s sister. I think there were pointless details in the book and if those were taken out, those details that do not add value to the story or add to the descriptive nature of the story, shorten the book, it would have been great. The author does have a way with chilling details of suspense and mystery that is incredibly creative. Overall, I enjoyed this book and may go back and read some of the other Detective Quinn stories to get a better understanding of her.
The Josie Quinn series just gets better and better. A young girl is found dead on the night of prom on school property. Dressed in a prom dress, no date in sight and it seems that no one can identify her. A great addition to an already great series that should not be missed. Thank You to Net Galley, the Author Lisa Regan and to the Publisher Bookouture for allowing me to read this exciting nove.
As always with this series, I dropped everything to read this book the moment I got my hands on it. I love this series! Reuniting with Josie and the team made me incredibly happy. I enjoy all of the characters and love how they work together. This one gripped me from the beginning and had me frantically turning pages until the conclusion. My only complaint is that it's over and I have to wait for the next book in the series to come out!
This was the best Josie Quinn I have read in a bit. It was a solid mystery and it did not have the crazy unrealistic adventures that Josie often has. Her Chief had a secret and it ties in to a current mystery. Lots of twists and turns in this one.
I was given a copy from Netgalley in exchange for an unbiased review.
A further offering in the Detective Josie Quinn series and as always this does not disappoint.
This had me hooked from the outset, a dark and twisted tale.
Thoroughly recommend.
4.5 stars
Thank you to Netgalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A gritty read is full of surprises, twists and turns, Definitely a recommended read.
Another in the Detective Josie Quinn book
And another that didn’t disappoint
If you want a new series to read this is the one
You will not want to put this book down
Amazing plot and brilliantly written
Thanks NetGalley
Again, I do love Lisa Regan and the Josie Quinn Series. I feel like this series gets better and better every time a new book comes out.
If someone ask me for a good series I always recommend this one
This is book 14 in Lisa Regan’s Detective Josie Quinn series and you don’t need to have read the other 13 to thoroughly enjoy this book. I absolutely loved it and am now working my way through the series from Book 1.
The story begins with a murder of a young girl who is found dead in her prom dress on prom night. The book is full of twists and turns, linking this murder to the murder of the sister of a key character many years before.
The character of Josie was fascinating and compelling, and I want to learn more about her, but equally compelling was the character of Chief Bob Chitwood who had a key role in this story.
I found the writing style easy to read and would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys well written crime drama.
Thanks to NetGalley for the review copy and for introducing me to Lisa Regan’s books.
Josie Quinn continues doing what she does best - resolving crime and she's darn good at it. Nothing comes her way that she can't handle. I love her character and she's been through a lot. I wonder how long Lisa Regan will continue the storyline. Josie feels like a friend, a buddy you'd love to have in your corner. She's persistent! She's relentless! She's the mighty Quinn! :-)
Thank you #NetGalley and #Bookouture for AC!
THRILLING police procedural with Josie investigating the murders of 16 year old girls & a cold case from 25 years ago. Terrific writing in a story line with an abundance of suspense throughout. RECOMMEND this & the whole series for a great reading experience. Thanks to #NetGalley & #Bookouture for this ARC in return for my honest review.
I love Josie, Noah, Gretchen, Met and the entire team. Even Chief Chitwood, in this case, was a sympathetic and human (for a change) character.
When the new murder of a young girl leads Josie and her Chief back to an old case, possibly involving his sister, many old memories, horrible events and damaged lives are revealed. . It’s especially gut-wrenching for Chief Chitwood when he is forced to confront his corrupt, drunken father.
Josie is pressed by time when she realizes a serial killer may be holding a live victim and the clock is running.
Even more determined than ever, Josie is a detective apart. She shows heart and emotion when it’s not popular. She’s gifted with the ability to do that and work as a professional to solve crimes. She is unique in that way.
Thank you #NetGalley and#LisaRegan.

This part of the description really caught my interest!
This was my first book by Lisa Reagan but it won’t be my last. The characters were well written and fleshed out. The mystery kept me interested from the start. While it can be read as a stand-a-lone book I feel it would be better read in series order. I will definitely be going back to the start of the series. I really want to know more about Josie and what led her to this point. I also can’t wait for the next one to see how the bombshell revelation at the end plays out. Thanks to the publisher, author and NetGalley for the ARC
Clocks ticking……
Once again author LIsa Regan delivers a intense and horrific crime thriller with Watch Her Disappear.
Detective Josie Quinn is in a race against time trying to solve the mystery of young girls disappearing, being murdered and then placed in unusual places. Is there a serial killer? As things escalate, Josie and her team are finding more clues but no answers.
Highly recommend this series.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture and author, Lisa Regan, for the opportunity to read this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
How many different ways can people abuse other people? Lisa Regan has plotted another strong police procedural targeting crimes against young women while exploring the depravity of deviant criminals. Two pages in and I was hooked. A serial killer, horrific crimes, and Josie Quinn along with her Chief and her team are working all the angles. Clues are dangled, possibilities explored and while there are always a few twists in a Josie Quinn installment the real story is the men and women on the job and their dedication to finding justice for the victims.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookoutre for a copy.
Lisa Regan delivers yet another fast-paced, gripping thriller in the Detective Josie Quinn series. This latest installment can be read as a stand-alone. If you’ve read all the books up to this point, you’re familiar with the characters in the series and how well they all work together. But what do we know about the Chief? We finally find out his story.
Very complex, fascinating story with plenty of twists and turns. The ending was a complete surprise. Looking forward to the next in this series.
Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture and Lisa Regan for a copy of "Watch Her Disappear" in exchange of an honest review.
I love this author and her books. She absolutely delivers every single time. And this book wow! Heart poundingly, breath takingly brilliant. Love this book and this series. Do read this one.
Someone is kidnapping and killing young girls then returning them on their 16th birthday in places where they would have been, if still alive. Detective Josie Quinn is on the case with her team. The mystery is baffling. Even if they can determine the pattern for the killer, they have no leads to follow. The victims have nothing in common, except for the 16th birthday connection. Can Josie figure out the identity of the perp before another life is lost? It's a fun and surprising read.
What a great addition to an amazing series! I loved every minute of it and could not put it down. The best part is the villain is not obvious! The story pulls you in immediately and doesn't let go. I cannot wait for the next book!
Denton is one violent little town!!! Detective Josie Quinn is called to the scene of the murder of another girl. I am just starting to realize Lisa Regan loves to use tropes around murdered or missing girls. However, after fourteen books, she still creates exciting, fresh, unpredictable twisty plots around those tropes.
The girl's murder has similarities to a cold case that feels a little too similar to a team member. I love that Lisa continues to write stories involving other characters; however, this one focuses more on the investigation than on the other characters in Josie's life. It did feel like something was missing.
Lisa Regan is known for the twists and turns in her stories that keep readers on their toes, and this time I was ready for her. However, even though I saw some things coming, I was still left pleasantly surprised in the end and looking forward to the next one in the series.
