Detective Josie Quinn is back on the case, this time to solve the murder of a girl killed and dumped in her prom dress. She quickly realizes this case may be connected to other, including one very cold case. Regan deftly weaves past and present and gives just enough information to keep you wanting more. Regan's writing style is crisp, expressive, and emotional. I absolutely love the series and this addition to it in particular.

Watch Her Disappear is the fourteenth book in the Josie Quinn series. I began reading this series at Book 6 and I've enjoyed watching the characters grow as the series has progressed. I've enjoyed all of the books I've read in this series, but this is my favorite so far.

Detective Josie Quinn and her team, which includes her husband Lieutenant Noah Fraley, are assigned a heartbreaking murder case when a young woman is found dead outside one of the local high schools on prom night. The first few chapters are interesting as the team investigates the murder case and looks for possible links to a cold case. One of the best things about the cold case investigation is it gives readers the chance to get to know Chief Bob Chitwood better. I also like Detective Meridith Dorton, who works cold cases in another jurisdiction, and would love to see more of her character in future books.

The pace and the tension of the story really increases as the team learns another young woman's life may be at risk and time is running out to save her. I was very surprised by the resolution of the case and an expected reveal at the end. Now I'm really looking forward to the next book to find out what happens next.

I received this ebook from NetGalley through the courtesy of Bookouture. An advance copy was provided to me at no cost, but my review is voluntary and unbiased.

Watch Her Disappear by Lisa Regan is another fascinating crime novel. Spoiler: Regan is one of my favorite authors; so do not look for anything remotely fair in this review. These folks in Western Pennsylvania have more than their share of serial killing and odd crimes. Detectives Josie Quinn and Noah Fraley investigate them all and of course, solve them all. This one is amongst the worst in careers full of horrible murders. One of the reasons, Josie discovers, is that the first one may have been the chief's sister, more than 25 years ago. She had disappears for several months and then was found dead on her 16th birthday. . . praying in her church . . . killed with one knife wound to the femoral artery. The police department was so bad and so corrupt that the murder was never solved. The police chief had been the Chief's own father, the worst of the bunch. It was a long story, but now it seemed to be happening again. The killer left clues, some of them made sense, others did not. They followed them all, the bad ones dropping away as they made sense of the others. Until they figured it out.

Josie Quinn has come a long way, personally. Now that she is married to Noah, she is secure in his love for her and that has made a huge difference. She has always respected the chief, but had never been close. Now she knew why he was a closed off as he was. Her heart broke for him, but she couldn't let on. He would not appreciate that. The murders were horrendous, but there was an element of kindness in them. That indicated someone who was night quite right, emotionally. Josie kept following the clues, just as she always does and eventually it all became clear. She is a wonderful detective, with a bright mind. Her past maybe gives her more empathy than is all-together healthy, but there you have it. Another hit for Josie Quinn!

This, the 14th installment in the Detective Josie Quinn series, starts out as immediately into the action as all of the rest of the series, and it never slows down. It's a constant stream of exhilaration and a very wild ride.

I'm torn between deciding whether this, or book 9, is now my top fave of them all! This one is just so good, so much action and excitement, so many twists and turns, thrills, and never knowing where Lisa will take us to next, or who she is going to have us "on the trail of" (of course, she always tries to throw us off course of who the right suspect is at every turn, and almost always succeeds), if the victim point of view chapter is current or not, and just what exactly is going on - the whole time!

A girl is found at Denton High's prom, laid out at the back of the school, all dressed up but dead, and no one knows who she is. The team rushes to figure it out, and in the investigation, a whole host of new and cold cases seem to collide, going back 25 years. What they can't figure out is if they actually interconnect and if this is a serial killer on the loose for all these years, who took a break, or just a big coincidence - and how does this connect with a very cold case that the Chief has brought to their attention?

I found myself glued to my Kindle reading this one as I just couldn't connect the clues and every guess I made was thwarted with the next big reveal of information that Josie and the team dug up, with so many exciting new locations visited in the search, and the race against the clock. The very best twist comes with the last page - thank you for that humdinger Lisa, and I cannot wait for book 15 and to find out what more shenanigans the team can get up to next.

And, after binge reading so much of this series back-to-back in the last couple of weeks, I'm now feeling at a loss of where to go next, as I'm going to be without my new friends at the Denton Police department and feeling like they are missing and I have no case I need to solve with them!

I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley and Bookouture, and this is my honest feedback - thank you so much!

This is a complex crime thriller with lots of moving parts. As the team works the current case of a girl murdered on prom night, it soon becomes apparent that this may be tied to a case from 25 years ago. There are just too many similarities to ignore. But it seems like for every lead they get, there are more leads to follow. And there are some revelations along the way that will have your jaw dropping.

Even though this is the first book I've read in this series, I felt like I got to know the various members of Detective Josie Quinn's team as the story progressed. I just loved this story and all the twists and turns.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I came across this series over the summer, and was intrigued. This is the first book I've read in the Detective Josie Quinn series, and this is also the 14th book in the series. I definitely plan on incorporating the rest of the series into my TBR pile.

Watch Her Disappear was fast-paced, hard to put down, and I flew through the pages! Josie's character was so well-developed and likable. I really enjoyed getting to know the rest of her team. This book contained so many secrets, lots of twists and turns, and had me guessing who the killer was.

I really enjoyed Lisa Regan's writing. The book flowed at a great pace and can't wait to get started on the rest of this series. Highly recommend to all thriller lovers!

My book tour date with Bookouture is April 17, so I will be posting this review on my instagram handle @thrillersandcoffee

This is book #14 in the Josie Quinn Series! As usual, I always recommend starting with Book #1 in the series! So worth the read.

I love how, with each book, we dive more into one of the main character’s pasts and get to know them more! In this instance, it was Chief Chitwood’s past, and it was long overdue as we knew basically nothing about Chief Chitwood! Going through the book, I really ended up liking the Chief more and gained an understanding of his personality.

It’s been a couple of books though that we haven’t gotten much story development between Noah and Josie, and I’m really sad, but I get it. The series needs to survive for another 23719238 books, so I’ll take the slow development!

It took me a while to get into the story, but once I got into it, I couldn't stop reading! This is my favorite series and I love Lisa Regan’s writing so much – I highly recommend this book and this series!

Detective Josie Quinn is back in this 14th instalment, and it doesn’t disappoint. Josie, her husband Noah and other colleagues are at work on the evening of all the high school proms in the town of Denton. Everything seems calm, until they are called to a suspicious death - a girl, in a prom dress, lying dead outside a school. The girl looks peaceful, as if she’d just fallen asleep - until you saw the pool of blood underneath her. But who is she? Once the autopsy is done, and they find out who she is and how old, Chief Bob Chitwood starts acting strangely, and takes Josie out to his house to see some files - it seems that this killer has killed before - 25 years ago! But how many others are there?
Josie and her team race against time to find other victims, but who is the blonde girl who seems to befriend one or two of the victims? How is she involved?
Really great read. Lisa Regan does it again - another unputdownable book!
Thanks to @bookouture for the advance copy.

Name of Book: Watch Her Disappear ~ Detective Josie Quinn Book #14
Author: Lisa Regan
Genre: Psychological Thriller
Publisher: Bookouture
Pub Date: April 19, 2022
My Rating: 4 + Stars! Rounded up!

This is Josie Quinn #14. I got on the Lisa Regan/Josie Quinn train late but I total love this author and this series.
Although at times it was very disturbing, this story had me on the edge of my seat.
Four Things I know when I start reading a psychological thriller
 Expect twists and turns!
 Be suspicious of everyone!
 There will be many secrets!
 The most obvious person didn’t do it

Since I suspect everyone, whodunit was on my list but I certainly was clueless to all the twisted details.

Yikes! Wow, another nail biting, page-turning case!
Lisa Regan does not disappoint!!
I am looking forward to Josie’s next adventure!

I always enjoy the Author Notes and/or Acknowledgements. In this case, Lisa has “A Letter from Lisa”. Additionally has ‘Acknowledgements ‘where she gives us some info on her research. Love getting the inside scoop on the background of the story.

I have heard that the ‘Author’s Notes and/or Acknowledgements typically are a bit stressful for an author to write. I for one am happy when they take the time!

Want to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for this eGalley. This file has been made available to me before publication in an early form for an honest professional review.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for April 12, 2022.

A girl is found dead on prom night at a local high school, not a violent death, but swift and staged. The girl looks familiar, and while searching missing persons reports they find it is a girl that went missing a few months ago. A few days later another girl shows up, again missing a few months, ago… Race is on finding the killer.
Once again twists and turns, a totally enjoyable book to read, keeps you guessing until the end. I like the way Josie’s character is growing, looking forward to more!
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an early read in exchange for my opinion.

I adore this series and was excited to see the new one was up for request on NetGalley. Lisa writes in a way that it feels like you know everyone and the cases are always so personal. So it's like you get to visit with friends you haven’t seen in a while. This time around we get to know a lot more about the Chief. You know the one who is always gruff and standoffish? This case shines a light into why that might be.

When a girl is found murdered at her prom and no one recognizes her, the team investigates the case and its ties to a long ago murder. And when they suspect a serial killer, they rush to catch the culprit before any more damage is done.

What I like about this series is all the characters are real. They have flaws and function in spite of them. And as a team they are able to overcome them to solve the case.

I've discovered this series quite late with the previous book. I have a few on my kindle now and intend to go back to the beginning. This story still stands alone but I'm missing some character growth. I'm still loving them all though.
Detective Josie is one kick a$$ cop, she digs in until she has all the missing pieces. I going right out there and likening her to 'Eve Dallas'.
I thought I knew who the killer was, then I didn't, then I did but only maybe. This author wove such a brilliant tale that I had no real idea what was going on until the end.
This story has a start that hooked me in and wouldn't let go. Girls are going missing but there is such a large gap between the first and current. Could it be the same killer and why now?
I enjoyed learning more about the Chief in this story and his connections to the past murders.
As for the ending of this story, well I kept pressing my kindle, noooo it can't be the end. Bring on book #15 fast please.

Watch Her Disappear by Lisa Regan
Josie Quinn #14

Josie and her team have another complicated intriguing case to solve in this murder mystery that sees fifteen-year-old girls disappear only to reappear on their sixteenth birthday…dead. Will the team figure it out in time or will more girls die/

What I liked:
* The police procedural aspects of the story
* Josie: focused, intelligent, dedicated detective
* The team: Josie’s husband Noah, Gretchen, Amber, Finn, the Chief and the rest
* That this time the Chief’s backstory plays a big part and we get to k now him better
* How the prologue played into the overall plot…eventually
* The red herrings, twists, and turns
* That the killer and reason for killings were finally determined
* That the case was tied up at the end of the story ready for a new book to begin
* Wondering if, when, and where Josie and Noah might finally go on their honeymoon

What I didn’t like:
* The people and events I was meant not to like
* Thinking about how twisted some people are and what they are capable of doing

Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Yes

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC – this is my honest review.

4-5 Stars

Travel to Denton, Pennsylvania and get to know detective Josie Quinn! Josie suffered severe trauma as a child, but it allowed her to become an amazing and intuitive member of Denton Police force. This adventure with Josie is my new favorite in the series of now 14 novels!

A body is found in chapter one, and you know Josie is ready to be on the case! Traveling through the criminal discovery and evidence process with Josie, is exciting. As you journey through the novel, you get to know all of the amazing characters, including the Josie’s husband Noah, the Denton Police Department, and so many other well developed characters! While Josie is the main character, Lisa has begun intimately developing some of the other characters, and you don’t want to miss it!

I've never heard of this series before, but I'm intrigued. I was sucked in pretty quickly by this one. It was a great read and I would really love to go back to book one and see how the series gets to where it is in this one. I was a little concerned I'd be lost in the midst of the book in this series, but Regan does a great job of catching you up on the details, like marriages, character development concerns and other relationships.

This one gets five stars from me and I can't wait to read more from Lisa Regan! You need to get started on this series before this one is published; it will be out April 12, 2022. Preorder where you can!

My thanks to Lisa and NetGalley for allowing me to read Watch Her Disappear before the publication date.

For Denton’s teenagers, it is Prom night. For Denton’s police force it is the Q**** before the inevitable storm which hundreds of over excited teenager cause every year. But this night will be different.
The body of a teenage girl is found within the grounds of a school. When Detective Josie Quinn arrives at the scene, she finds the girl dressed for a big night out. The team start a huge canvas across the schools to try to identify her.
When Quinn finds a report that the girl is Gemma Farmer who went missing months ago, she realises that this is Gemma’s 16th birthday. Where has she been and why has she returned tonight?

When a second missing girl turns up dead, Quinn realises that there are a number of common features in the deaths.

Chief Chitwood is an unknown quantity in Denton, despite working there for years. No-one knows anything about his background or private life. Then he tells Quinn about the disappearance and death of his sister Kelsey, 25 years earlier. Do they now have a copycat killer in Denton or is there a link between the murders?
Can Quinn solve the case before any more teenagers are murdered?

Once again, Lisa has spun an intriguing tale with many twists and turns. Add in a mixture of characters, from those who are evil, corrupt and despicable to the truly moral who work quietly behind the scenes to uncover the truth.
A real page turner.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the copy of Watch Her Disappear. This is book fourteen in the Josie Quinn series. Quinn is such a strong female character you can’t help but love her. I also really liked delving more into the Chief’s life and I look forward to getting to know even more about him. The story is engrossing and I really felt the tension of the race against time to find the killer’s lair and save the latest victim. The writing is great as usual and I didn’t want to stop reading.
The series just keeps getting better and better! If you haven’t started it yet, you should.

When a fifteen year old girl is discovered dead at a high school prom, there are so many questions. She seems to have appeared out of nowhere and there are so many unanswered questions. Detective Josie Quinn and her team take any and all leads they can jump on in hopes they can find this girl’s killer. Then, the chief of the Denton Police Department, Bob Chitwood, drops a bombshell on Detective Quinn. This only complicates things and raises more questions surrounding the case. Can Josie and her team solve this case? Regan does a phenomenal job, like all of the other precious books in the series, of developing all of her characters in great detail. She pulls you right in and offers so many twists and turns. Just when you think you’ve figured out whodunit, bam, another curveball comes! This was such a good book that I highly recommend!
