thanks to the publisher, author, Netgalley- for an honest review

I've been a fan of Lisa Regan since her first Claire Fletcher title. I've tried to keep up over the years but I have missed many in between the third Josie Quinn and this one, the 14th. I would not recommend doing this because of missing important details concerning Josie, her family, and her network of coworkers. I did however pay very close attention to the plot and I was able to enjoy this one, despite my disadvantage. I'm going to try to go back and catch up on at least some of the missed titles.

Once again, Josie Quinn is faced with a difficult case in her hometown Denton, PA. Someone has murdered a teenaged girl on Prom Day for all the local high schools. Further investigation shows that she wasn't the first stabbing murder of teens in the area over the years. Chief Bobby Chitwood, who is a fixture in the stories and known for being aloof and gruff with the staff, shows a humble, human side to his personality in this installment, has a connection to the cases, and teams up with Josie, Gretchen and the team to find justice for the girls. The story ratchets up to an intense and page-turning ending. Recommended for fans of contemporary mystery suspense. 4/5

WOW! Lisa Regan hits it out of the park again!!!
Buckle up ... the entire team is back! This time it is about Chief of Police Robert "Bobby" Chitwood. He has always been grumpy and hard to get along with. This time we see a totally different side to him. Detective Jose Quinn and Chief Chitwood soon bond as they share feelings of grief and loss while working together to find who is murdering young teen girls.

The clock is ticking and Josie turns the town upside down in search of answers. But when Chief Chitwood comes forward with a missing piece in the puzzle spanning decades, will it be enough to get inside the mind of the most unexpected and elusive killer she has ever encountered, or will another life be taken?

Fast paced with plenty of plot twists to keep you engaged in the story. Lisa Regan keeps them coming with great stories and fresh ideas. I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series that she is in the middle of writing. If you haven't read this series, start at the beginning and enjoy the ride!

Special thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC!

It is no secret to those around me, or maybe even those not around me that Lisa Regan is my favorite crime fiction author. I have been stalking NetGalley for weeks, waiting to grab a copy of the 14th book in the Josie Quinn Series, just so I didn't have to wait a day longer to read it. Have you read any of the Josie Quinn books? If you haven't, you should. She's like Olivia Benson and a side of John Wick (okay, I'm exaggerating a bit there) and you want to be her, or at least be friends with her. We're at book #14 here, and this one is probably one of my favorite books in the series. If you like crime fiction, like I obviously do, then pick this book up. Actually, you need to read this whole series. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

Watch Her Disappear – Lisa Regan

It’s prom night in Denton, Pennsylvania, and Josie Quinn and her team are gearing up for the usual post-prom exploits to start. But before the shenanigans can even begin, the body of a teen aged girl, dressed for prom, is found dead in the back of the high school. As Josie, Noah and the team secure the scene and question the prom-goers, no one knows who the girl is – and no one who bought tickets for entry is missing.

When the medical examiner gets her on the table, she discovers a single stab wound to the girl’s inner thigh, which severed the femoral artery. She also finds a lock of hair missing and some superficial incisions, but nothing to indicate who the teen is or why she appeared at the prom when she did. No surrounding schools have a missing prom attendee either…yet Josie is sure the girl looks familiar, somehow. They finally identify her – she had been reported missing 4 months ago.

Chief Chitwood is unusually terse through the beginning stages of the investigation. Shortly after they identify the teen, he pulls Josie aside, insisting she come with him, but saying little more. When they arrive at his home, he tells Josie the story of his sister, Kelsey – who disappeared in similar circumstances only to be found dead – over 25 years ago. The case has haunted him for all this time, and this new death has opened the old wounds of losing Kelsey – and there are similarities that can’t be ignored – the girls were all found dead on their 16th birthday.

Josie takes this new information back to the team with the suspicion that whoever they’re looking for has possibly been killing for a very long time. A visit with Chitwood’s father, a corrupt cop back in the day, yields little information, but his old partner is able to add some insight into the old investigation, although he had his own difficulties under Chitwood Sr’s command.

Josie and her team rush to put the pieces together, both past and present, as another missing teen’s birthday looms near…but can they find the key to break this case wide open before another teen turns up dead?

I’ve said it before - and I’ll say it again, and again I’m sure – I just cannot get enough of Josie Quinn!! I was riveted from the start, devoured the book in one sitting, and now anxiously await the next adventure! And just as importantly - if you read as voraciously as I do - Lisa Regan gets these books out in record time! I never have too long a wait for a new novel to appear. Love, love, LOVE this series!!

I love the Detective Josie Quinn series so I couldn't wait to read number 14. It is a race against time for her to find a victim before she is killed on her 16th birthday. Who is the killer and how have they gone undetected for so long?

WOW! Book #14 and IMO the best one yet in this amazing series. We see a personal side of Chief Chitwood as Josie and the team try to identify and catch the killer of a murdered teen found on Prom night. Do yourself a favour and read it. If you haven’t started the series you can read this one as a stand-alone. Thanks to NetGalley, Bookoutre and the Author for allowing me to read and review this book.

I love this authors previous books and this one did not disappoint. I can’t wait for the next instalment of this series. This thriller had a great plot and relatable characters.

Many thanks to netgalley and Lisa Regan for the advanced copy of this book. I agreed to give my unbiased opinion voluntarily.

A teenage girl is found dead at prom and detective Josie Quinn catches the case. When similarities to a cold case are discovered, the chief gets involved and the stakes are raised. Will they be able to catch this killer before more lives are lost?

Detective Josie Quinn is called in to investigate a suspicious death after a teen girl is found dead at prom. When her chief gets involved in the case, we discover that the murder resembles that of his own sister 25 years ago. Soon, more information comes to light than connects the victims in more ways than one. The plot thickens and we are navigated through twists and turns until we finally arrive at the conclusion. The killer is unveiled and more unexpected news is revealed.

This is book 14 in the series. I hadn’t read any of the prior books but that didn’t cause me any issues as I jumped right into this series. I couldn’t put the book down. It has a bit of mystery and suspense. I highly recommend the book and can’t wait to catch up on the rest of the series.

Josie Quinn is back in another page turner with Watch Her Disappear. Book number fourteen just keeps the ball rolling on suspense and action as Josie once again takes on a serial killer. A teenage girl’s body is found at a local prom, no one recognizes her and she’s not local. It turns out she’s not the first missing girl to turn up dead on her sixteenth birthday. Josie deep dives into a case that links to her chief’s sister’s murder. A corrupt cop, a murderer, and missing girls leads Josie on a race into danger to catch a killer and find the last missing girl. As always, Josie saves the day with the story being focused on the case. Hints of Josie’s personal life are strung out through the story but the case always takes center stage for a mystery lover’s dream novel. Action, danger, and a shocking whodunnit keep the pages turning for another unputtdownable thriller. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from NetGalley.

I swear the Josie Quinn books just keep getting better and better! In this installment the reader is pulled into the mysterious death of a young woman who is found outside of one of Denton's local proms. Although she is dressed for the prom, no one can identify her. The case shakes lose some disturbing memories for Chief Chitwood. Is this case tied to the murder of someone in Chitwood's past and can Denton's finest meet the challenges of this new case. Lots of twists and turns will leave you impatient for the next book in this series!

Another fantastic five star read for this five star series. As usual with this series I read this book in one sitting and finally turned the last page in the wee hours. Gripping, emotive and another great addition to this gripping and very addictive series.

Wow this series keeps getting better and better…. Josie and her team investigate the murder of a teenager at the prom. However, it turns out that not only did that teenager not attend the prom, but actually she had been missing for months.! This author wrote another story that was interesting and moved at a pace that kept me engaged. The characters were easy to invest in. Atmospheric, haunting and superbly plotted. A five star rating from me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Det Josie Quinn is back and this is one strange case. A young girl has been found murdered at the local high school prom but no one knows who she is. They need to find out who she is so that they can start putting the pieces together. Their victim is Gemma Farmer and she just disappeared from her home. They will need to find out everything they can about her. But everything changes when the Chief takes Josie on a drive. He shows her files on another similar case but it is personal as the murdered girl was his sister. Is this a link but the old case is 25 years old?
The chief never stopped looking for his sister Kelsey's killer he tried everything but he never got very far in the case as his corrupt father never helped him find the answers.
Josie knows that this has changed the case and it opens up a whole new line of enquiry and she hopes that this helps find the killer. They find a new lead but who is the blond girl how do they find her?
Unfortunately another young girl has been murdered and she also went missing like the others. So who is killing the young girls and why?
They have found their main suspect everything fits together but there is something that they are missing. Can they find the latest missing girl before it is too late?
A great read. Full of twists & turns. I was lucky enough to receive a copy via Netgalley & the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

If you have not started this series, I am going to need you to do that now. Lisa Regan gets better and better with each book. This book was amazing. I love Josie Quinn. This book was awesome. I think I finished it in one day. Josie and team were called to a high school on the night of All City Prom to the scene of a horrible crime. A young girl dressed in her beautiful prom gown, laying on the concrete. From the waist up, she looks that she is asleep. From the waist down, a huge puddle of blood. This is just the start of the twisty-turny book. Things I LOVED about the book is the adoration that you get to see from the chief to Josie, the chief's back story if finally reveled (and it is a shocker!) and as always, I love how the team works together to help solve the case. I cannot wait to read book 15. Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read and give you my opinion.

In this latest entry in the Detective Josie Quinn series, the team is stymied by the identity of a teenage girl's body found on prom night, hidden away in an outside alcove of the local high school. After interviewing all of the students and staff, searching through surveillance, and even skimming the latest yearbooks, it becomes clear that this isn't a student of the school, nor was she brought as a date. But when they check all of the other high schools, they still cannot identify the girl. It's only when they check the missing persons database that they discover her identity and realize her body was found a few months after she went missing, on her sixteenth birthday. Could that event signify something significant? Unfortunately, when another victim is soon discovered on her sixteenth birthday after also being missing for several months, it's clear they have a twisted serial killer on their hands.

No one ever would have guessed that a member of the team uncovers a personal connection to this case, least of all that it would be Chief Chitwood! But sure enough, the recent events are too similar to that of a missing family member of his from 25 years ago. Josie and the Chief end up traveling across the state to his hometown to find the answers he never received when he began looking into that case years ago. But even his status as Chief isn't enough to get the stubborn locals to open up. HIs father has quite a tainted legacy with the police force he served for fifty years and although they have no relationship left between them, the Chief needs to confront him and get some answers. They are sure that what happened in the past is key to finding this serial killer now.

I loved getting a look into the Chief's personal life, and this story explains why he's been closed off to the team and pretty much everyone for so long. His typical gruff exterior masks a life of heartache and pain and Josie understands that better than anyone. They grow closer in their own way, and it's quite sweet watching them connect. There's a lot of heart to this series, and it conquers the evil every time.

I’ve been hoping to learn more about Chief Chitwood as this series progresses and this book delivered that with a dramatic plot that sees the past and present clash. There’s a serial killer with a nefarious agenda, so nefarious no one has realised this killer exists until now. I love how Regan writes such intricate plots where a dozen random threads suddenly come together to reveal the truth. I can’t wait for book 15!

Watch Her Disappear is book 14 in the Josie Quinn series by Lisa Regan, but you can read it as a stand-alone. Wow!! Lisa Regan has written another great installment in her series. I loved this book from the first page till the last, it was fast paced and I couldn’t put it down. Josie and her team are called to the scene of a homicide of a young girl at a local high school on prom night. The strange thing is nobody seems to know her, she isn’t a student at the school nor does she seems to be a date of someone who attends the school. Then another victim is found and then these cases seem to be connected to a cold case from twenty five years ago. So many twists and turns kept me guessing and that twist at the end Wow. I cannot wait for the next book. Thank you to Bookouture and Netgalley for this arc.

Absolutely Brilliant!!

You can read the book overview for the details of the grizzly crime that Josie and her team are racing against the clock to solve and even if you have ideas of what happened, who was involved, there are little twists and turns that you will not be able to determine.

I love this series and it is not just for the mysteries that have you hooked, it is the cast of characters you get to know, the depth of them, that you fall in love with each of them, each book delving further into one of their lives and this is the Chiefs story.

To now, you know him as the gruff loner. He is very private, he is set to one mode most of the time, exhibiting a bark to keep people away, with moments showing through that there might be more to him. In book 14, the emotions will flow as his heartbreaking past comes to light, he opens up, he reaches out for help and finds closure. A final twist at the end, a great cliffhanger leaving hints there will be more from this story to come....
