Pine Creek Marriage is the second book in the Line Creek series. Or can be read as a standalone though, as I haven't read the first and was still able to fully enjoy and jnderithis one.

This was my first book by this author, but I know I will read more! I'll be honest, I have actually never read an Amish romance, but this one was great. I thoroughly enjoyed it and loved the slow burn!

I so felt for Amelia. She went through so much, but she stayed strong though it all. Vowing to never love again, Amelia moves to Pine Creek for a fresh start. I loved how she eventually overcomes her struggles and trauma and begins to move on. Ruthie was such a sweetheart!!

This book full of loss, love, sacrifice and second chances was well written, interesting and very sweet!

Thank you Entangled Publishing for this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book is out now and I do recommend it.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Entangled: Amara Publishing for providing me with an ARC of this book in return for an honest review. This is my first Amity Hope book and it was easily 5+ stars for me and definitely will not be my last. The story development, the character development, the twists, the turns, the romance, the drama and so much more made this a book I couldn't stop reading and was so sad when it ended. There was nothing about it that I disliked and everything about it that I loved. Full of hope and inspiration this was a delight to read. If you never have read an Amish fiction book before this would be a perfect first one for you to fall in love with. If you have read Amish fiction then this is totally a must read and I hope you will fall in love with Pine Creek and all its characters as much as I have. Again, my thanks to NetGalley and Entangled:Amara. I so appreciate receiving this and adding Amity Hope to my list of must read Amish authors.

Pine Creek Marriage was a sweet Amish romance and the 2nd book in the Pine Creek series. Its a story about losing a loved one and finding your place in life again. Its also a story about a two people thrown together for the sake of a little girl. The story gives us insight into how the Amish community live their life. Amelia and Samuel did not have the best meet cute but it was interesting to how they warmed to each other as the story progressed. This marriage of convenience tale was well paced and flowed smoothly and gave us secondary characters you will love. Ruthie was adorable and I enjoyed seeing how she broke down Amelia's walls. This was a sweet romance that was well written and I would recommend it to lovers of contemporary Amish romance.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher, Entangled for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I love books about the Amish and this one was truly a joy to read.

The plot, descriptive settings and characters were excellent. Amelia, Samuel, Ruthie and Aunt Mary were very believable and I blocked each one of them.

I fell in love with Ruthie's sweetness and Samuels tender heart. I was rooting for Daniel and Amelia's romance to blossom. This was such a wonderful, curl up on the couch, get comfortable and just relax and enjoy the read. Just took me away from it all for the day. Recommend.

I really enjoy reading Amish fiction. It has a different, almost old-fashioned feel to it, at least a seemingly more peaceful life. Amity Hope is a new to me author so I was a little apprehensive about what kind of Amish love story this could be. (I've been a little disgusted with a couple I have run across.). I am happy to say that I want to read more of her writing.

Pine Creek Marriage is very well written. It is a story that tugs at my heart. The story tells of loss, sacrifice, deep love and faith. The main characters have known pain and fear to step forward in life. Amelia is overpowered by loss and as a widow has taken on a spinster-like existence. Samuel has run to Pine Creek with his young daughter, hiding a secret from his Aunt Mary and the community. Mary, who lives with the challenges of arthritis, observes her live-in helper, Amelia, watching for the changes that come for all of them.

The plot moves along smoothly and has a sensible timeline of a building friendship. It is an excellent story. Any reader who enjoys Wanda Brunstetter, Jennifer Beckstrand and Amy Clipston should give Hope's writing a try. I think you will appreciate it too.
My thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for my advanced reader's copy of this book. This is my own unsolicited opinion. I intend to follow Amity Hope's writing from now on.

Pine Creek Marriage by Amity Hope is the second book in the Pine Creek series. It can be read as a standalone if you have not indulged in Pine Creek Courtship. Pine Creek Marriage is a delightful story. I opened the book, and I was immediately drawn into the story. I like the author’s writing style (light, easy). The story is told from Samuel Kurtz’s and Amelia Baumann’s point-of-view. Amelia is a widow living with Mary in Pine Creek. She has no intention of marrying again because she cannot stand to have her heart shattered again from loss. Samuel is moving back to Pine Creek with his daughter, Ruthie. He wants to provide a stable life for his daughter which means purchasing a home and establishing a business. Mary is Samuel’s relative and the property she lives on used to belong to Samuel’s grandfather. With Samuel and Ruthie living in the daedihaus, Amelia sees them frequently. Mary likes to push the couple together as well. I like that this is a slow romance (a kiss or hug is the extent of the intimacy). Ruthie is a cutie who adds humor and vibrancy to the story. Mary is another great character. She is a sweet woman who loves to play matchmaker. I loved that the author has Samuel helping with tasks that are traditionally done by the wife or female in the household. The author brought the characters to life in this story. They are realistic characters who have foibles. I appreciated the epilogue that nicely wrapped up Pine Creek Marriage. It was great to catch up with Emma and Levi from Pine Creek Courtship. I like the community of Pine Creek. They are good people who are there for one another. Pine Creek Marriage is a heartwarming story of loss, love, friendship, family, and faith. I hope there will be another book in the Pine Creek series. Pine Creek Marriage is an emotional Amish tale with the adorable Ruthie, the matchmaking Aunt Mary, caring cousins, a meddling mother, Samuel’s secret, a resolute relative, and an appealing Amelia.

Pine Creek Marriage by Amity Hope, book two in her Pine Creek series, tugs at your heart, holding you hostage until the very last page. This was a story I could not put down, reading it in one day. This book begins with Amelia and Samuel finding themselves in an interesting situation; one that is filled with suspicion, mistrust and some disapproval. Amelia is a young widow who is living with an elderly family friend, Mary. Samuel, Mary’s nephew, along with his young “daughter”, Ruthie, come to live with Mary; upsetting the balance. Ruthie was adorable; adding depth and color to the story as she stole everyone heart. Amelia and Samuel make an interesting couple; facing obstacles head on, with valuing the importance of rightfulness and family. It was interesting watching their romance blossom after they started out on the wrong foot. They had so many difficulties and emotions to overcome; yet overcome they did.

Ms. Hope wrote a wonderfully sweet and moving story that had me feeling all the emotions; smiling, tearing up, crying of heartbreak, and frustrated with some of the characters. The message of love, faith, and forgiveness stood strong; making this sweet and inspiration read one I could not put down, draw me in, making me forget it was fiction. I highly recommend Pine Creek Marriage to other readers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

It Grabbed Me From the Start

I was barely a few paragraphs into the book when I immediately realized that I was going to really, really enjoy. The first thing that grabbed me was that the author's description was so vivid that I could see it all in my mind, and I was immediately hooked. And what a scene it was! In it the reader is introduced to Amelia Baumann, Samuel Kurtz and Ruthie, and it's also where Amelia, Samuel and Ruthie are introduced to one another in a most unusual, unique and amusing way. And that is also where Amelia and Samuel's story begins.

I have to admit that although the story hooked me immediately, it took me a bit to get to like Amelia. However, once I got to know her and her story, my heart went out to her. As for Samuel, I liked him from the start, especially because of his tender and caring way with Ruthie. Truth be told, though, Ruthie was just special. Her curiosity, her directness, and everything about her immediately captured Amelia's heart (and mine).

Amelia, Samuel, Ruthie and Aunt Mary fall into a comfortable pattern with each other. However, when trouble comes knocking, Samuel comes up with a master plan. He offers Amelia a marriage of convenience. When she agrees, it seems that everything will turn out just fine, until...trouble comes knocking again.

Pine Creek Marriage is a wonderful story that combines romance, faith, humor, some tug at your heart moments, some surprises and even a little intrigue. It has a wonderful cast of characters, some of which you'll love and others, not so much. But they all add just the right touch to the story as do their interactions. It's a definite must read and I highly recommend it.

*****I received a copy of the book from the publisher, Entangled: Amara, via NetGalley. All comments and opinions are strictly my own.

This is my second book by this author and it felt good to sit down with a good clean book and escape from the troubles in the world. The characters each captured my heart and took me on an emotional roller coaster ride.

They felt heartbreak in different ways, but they also knew they could depend on God and their community to help restrengthen their faith and help them through different situations, which a great reminder to us all.

I recommend this book and was given a copy from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest opinion and review.

"Pine Creek Marriage"

Contemporary Christian (Amish) Romance

It must be heartbreaking to lose your husband and the child you're carrying. Amelia Baumann is still dealing with the trauma of her loss. Though some time has passed, her wounds are not healed. Because of the pain she is suffering, Amelia vows she will never fall in love or marry again—and this is a vow she plans to keep.

Looking for a fresh start, Amelia moves to Pine Creek to care for Mary Kurtz, her mother's childhood friend, laid up with a broken ankle and riddled with painful arthritis. Amelia is delighted with her current situation. She and Mary get along very well, and Amelia receives room and board for helping the older woman. She also has a part-time job at the Pine Cone Café.

One day when Mary is out visiting friends, Amelia is frightened when a strange man shows up at the door. He enters the house, and she's armed to swat him with a frying pan but notices a little girl by his side. This man happens to be Mary's nephew, Samuel Kurtz, and the youngster is his six-year-old niece, Ruthie, his brother's daughter. Ruthie's biological dad had married in haste to give his child legitimacy, yet theirs was a loveless marriage. When Ruthie's mom passed away, Samuel claims guardianship of her for his brother says he is not prepared to raise a child. Ruthie is thriving under Samuel's care, and she loves him and considers him her dad.

Samuel and Amelia start off on the wrong foot, and tension abounds between them, for they distrust each other. He wonders why she lives with his aunt, and Amelia is concerned about him being there. Still, when Ruthie and Samuel move into Mary's house, Amelia learns Samuel is buying her property, planning to renovate the barn to start a business making outdoor furniture, and finally settle down.

Meanwhile, Amelia works at the café and tends to Mary's greenhouse business, where she finds her passion in planting and arranging flowers and plants. Nevertheless, she worries about her future, believing Samuel will force her to leave now that he and Ruthie are settling in. Amelia is worried with good cause. Where would she go? Certainly not back home to her overbearing mother, who only wants to marry her off to any eligible bachelor in the area.

Because the Amish deem it improper for an unmarried couple to live under the same roof, Amelia moves into the "daedihaus" house behind the main homestead. Happy to not be forced to leave, she misses the closeness and activities she's established with living with Mary, though she always is at her house to cook or clean.

A loving and loquacious child, Ruthie wins everyone over, especially Amelia. But then Ruthie's mother's sister, Dorothy, arrives claiming she should raise the child because she is married with her own children. Samuel fiercely objects, stating he is following his brother's request to care for her. Samuel panics, thinking Dorothy will stop at nothing to take Ruthie away from him. After much consideration, Samuel devises a plan and suggests he and Amelia marry to create a proper family for Ruthie. Their relationship has warmed since they met, and Samuel starts to develop feelings for Amelia and believes this is the one factor where he can gain full and legal custody of Ruthie. Can he win her over?

Dorothy arrives in Pine Creek, haughty and adamant she will be given Ruthie. Her harsh and callous ways frighten both Samuel and Amelia. They cannot allow Ruthie to go with her. Though Amelia states she'll never remarry, her heart belongs to this child, so she agrees to a marriage of convenience. This way, she can be a mother to Ruthie with a home and the family she's always wanted, considering there is no love between her and Samuel—but could there be?

This book #2 in the Pine Creek series stands on its own, demonstrating the heartbreak of losing a loved one and finding your place in life against all odds. The unity and camaraderie between the members of the Amish community present insightful information about how they live their lives, giving food for thought as to how they manage to thrive amid love, acceptance, and nonjudgement. A quick and easy read, "Pine Creek Marriage" tenders a happy ever after.

4.5 stars. Amelia has loved and lost and is now quite content to guard her feelings and make her own way, thank you very much. Samuel hasn't seen much happiness in love, but still has an enormous heart and hope for his own happy ending. When circumstance throws them together, they're both forced to reckon with how much of a risk they're willing to take for love.

This is a really sweet and enjoyable story. There are lots of laughs and tender moments and a wonderful cast of supporting characters. And, of course, I came away hungry after reading about all the amazing meals! The issues between Amelia and Samuel feel real and substantial, but not overwrought. They are two good and decent people who have scars, but a desire to do right and live by their faith. Pick this up for a warm, comforting read that will leave you smiling!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

This is a sweet romance. Amelia is a widow who is living in a new Amish village while she tries to put her life back together. Samuel is a single dad trying to hold on to his little girl. The story is adorable. It has great characters who embody great family values. There are some funny moments throughout the story compliments of Amelia, Ruthie and Mary. When trouble arrives the family has to stick together to find love.

Pine Creek Marriage is a story about two people who are introduced to each other on the back of a misunderstanding, leading to an element of distrust on both sides. Thereafter, we see a softening with both as they realise that they got off on the wrong foot and a slow appreciation and understanding of each other.

The characters, Amelia and Samuel were both sweet and endearing characters and the secondary characters were also well crafted and added to the narrative well but I couldn't feel enough of a pull to be rooting for any of them. I appreciate the story was well written and authentic in its theme but it didn't hold my attention and I found it easy to put down but a bit of a struggle to keep going and be invested in the characters or what happened next.

There is something calming about an Amish romance. There is never any hot and heavy sex, premarital, or one night stands. There is perhaps a kiss, or a hug, but nothing more scandalous than that. And if you are tired of insta-love, and the characters lusting after each other in the first chapter, it can be kind of nice to have a slow burn. Just because their Amish doesn't mean they don't have desires.

This story concerns Amelia, a window, and Samuel, and his daughter, who get put together, and then pushed together, by circumstances, and Samuel's aunt Mary. Both resist, as they would, but it is all light hearted match-making.

It was a cute soft story, and oh, my Samuel does a little cooking. How shocking.

A pleasant read, and nothing too bad. And of course, as is typical of all romances, there was a misunderstanding, and separation.

A nice break from some of the more scandalous romances that are out there.

At what cost do you protect your heart?

Amelia Baumann has the peace she seeks in a new community living with a older friend Mary. Amelia lost her husband tragically and seeks the peace taking care of Mary and her home. She also works in the community bakery and tends to her garden. She has a dream of starting her own nursery. However, her dreams come to a halt when Mary's nephew Samuel and his six-year-old daughter Ruthie comes to visit. Amelia immediately feels threaten by Samuel presence but as she gets to know him and his daughter, her feelings begin to change. Samuel has plans of his own. His first priority is his daughter Ruthie. He is raising his brother's daughter and has called Ruthie his own. However, other family members are not happy with that arrangement. Amelia and Samuel strike a deal only to find that their feelings run deep. With all that the past holds, can they freely love again?

I enjoyed this sweet romance. How we protect our heart often times prevents us from enjoying God's blessing. A lesson we can all learn from.

Review:
Awarning — you will fall in love with Ruthie. I admire writers who can make characters real and that’s Ruthie. And Mary, Samuel’s aunt. Ruthie is a confident six-year-old and precocious, delightfully so. I never knew what she would say next which made for a wonderful read.

The reader will enjoy how the characters of Samuel and Amelia grow toward each other even though it started out with a frying pan — in Amelia’s hand. Doesn’t that make you want to read "Pine Creek Marriage"?

The pacing is smooth, although a few readers might believe it drags a bit. The plot is clear. The relationships are believable. While book two of a series, this story can be standalone. I had not read book one.

"Pine Creek Marriage" is a “proper” Amish story. By that I mean, there is an Amish community and people within that interact with our main characters. The Bishop plays a role when Ruthie’s aunt shows up … ever met a prissy Amish woman? You will. And there’s a great scene where Aunt Mary tells someone “how the cow ate the cabbage” if you get my meaning. Loved it. The components that faithful Amish readers expect are there.

Yes, I recommend "Pine Creek Marriage". It’s a lovely read. Grab a glass of iced tea or a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy. A puppy dog or a kitty cat on your lap can’t hurt either.

Pine Creek Marriage by Amity Hope is book #2 in a series, but you can definitely read this as a standalone without any confusion. Amelia is a young widow who is living with an elderly family friend, Mary. Samuel, Mary’s nephew, and his young daughter, Ruthie, come to live with Mary. I loved this book! The characters were so well developed that I felt like I knew them. I loved all the main characters. Ruthie was so adorable.
Amelia and Samuel are such a great couple. I loved how their romance really blossomed since they started out as frenemies. I will be reading book#1 while waiting for the next book. Amity Hope is a new to me author but she is now a must read author. If you are looking for a new Amish series, I highly recommend. Thank you to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing, LLC for the ARC.
