I loved the story line of this one- about a spunky librarian leading the town’s book club through a spicy read, when she meets one of the book club attendant’s sons, a baseball player who came home to heal from an injury. Unfortunately, I just couldn't get into it and ended up skimming most of the chapters. It felt a little too cheesy and I found myself not feeling connected to any of the characters either.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest thoughts!
Stefanie London can do no wrong in my mind!
This is the perfect RomCom to break you out of a reading slump. You will quickly fall in love with both main characters as well as their love story!
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my review!
This author is so consistent with her stories. Another great book that I thoroughly enjoyed. Not too much angst, just great characters and storyline.
Wow, what a delightful read. These two had me laughing out loud! You can feel the chemistry from the first time they meet. As always, the author's writing is flawless, and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting. There is so much intensity and emotion it kept me turning page after page. I loved that these two got their happy ending and hope there are more visits to Kissing Creek in our future!
The Kissing Games by Stefanie London has all of the elements of a great Rom-Com novel. Enemies to lovers trope, humor that made me laugh out loud multiple times, a perfect amount of steamy situations and great character development for both of the main characters.
This is an easy and great pick-me-up read for any Rom-Com enthusiast, where I promise you will find yourself in love with both of the main characters from the very start.
Kissing Games by Stefanie London is book 2 of the Kissing Creek series. This book can be read as a standalone but we get to go on the adventure this time with Sloane and Ryan.
Sloane is new in town and Ryan is the hometown hero home again nursing an injury. Working together, they grow closer. This was not an instant love connection but a slow burn. They grow their relationship over time.
I really enjoyed this read and this series and look forward to more from this author.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This was friends to lovers romance book and I adored every second of it. If you love small town, sports , easy romance, great character banter this is a book you need to pick up.
Another fabulous visit to Kissing Creek, I do love this small town and we get to know Ryan MLB pitcher and Sloane the beautiful caring and feisty librarian, both of them have their futures mapped out but their first meeting might have changed that for them or will it?
Sloane has finally found the place she wants to be, she loves this town, her house and her job as librarian, the only thing she is missing is friends she is very popular but her life growing up was moving around a lot and making friends was not always easy, she runs the book club at the library and this is one of her favourite things to do, the book they are reading this month is a steamy erotic romance and this brings Ryan into the library.
Ryan is home to rest up his injured knee he does love to visit his family but when his parents are up to things he doesn’t want to know about because of the book club, he is going to meet this new librarian and get to the bottom of it, only when he meets the feisty Sloane she puts him in his place.
This is a fun and fabulous story filled with lots of feeling and emotion I loved seeing Ryan and Sloane fall so madly in love even if they both agreed they probably were incompatible because of their plans for the future, but when cupid shoots those arrows there is nothing that can be done except to keep smiling and enjoy that love. Stefanie London really knows how to write a wonderful story with fabulous characters that become friends, this is one that I would highly recommend it is sensual, moving and fabulous and I do hope that one day we re-visit Kissing Creek.
My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my copy to read and review
Sloane and Ryan’s friends to lovers story in Kissing Games by Stefanie London, book two in her Kissing Creek series, was an amazing, sizzling, emotional and humorous tale. Ms. London is a definite go-to for small town reads; understanding the quirkiness of its residents. When the golden boy of Kissing Creek returns home to sulk after a baseball career-pausing injury, Ryan, he never anticipated the problem keeping him awake at night was the noises from his parents’ bedroom and the antics caused by the steamy book his mother was reading for her book club. Deciding to complain to quirky librarian Sloane, these two have an unusual meeting between a trespassing llama, magnetic attraction, and off the charts chemistry. This caused an undeniable tension between them right off the bat, with underlying exchanges of sarcasm and irritation. Their banter was hysterical and entertaining even the stereotypes they had about each other; which they quickly set straight as they got closer thanks to being paired together to decorate a float for the town’s Halloween parade.
This was a story of two people finding somewhere to belong; Sloane who was looking for somewhere to belong after spending all of her life going places in search of a home, and Ryan, for a life outside baseball, which had always been his whole life. It was sad how she felt like she didn't fit in with anyone or anywhere, always being left out. Ryan is fully committed to returning to his baseball career, while Sloane wants to set down roots with someone who won’t put her second. It was heartwarming how they found in each other a friend, a lover, and a home, as well as being at a point where they needed to open their eyes and find alternates paths to have what they want while still wanting each other.
Ms. London wrote a fun, emotional, and sizzling romance that should not be missed. She provided a tale rich with emotions, sizzling chemistry, clever banter, laugh out loud scenes, and charming characters giving Sloane and Ryan a chance at love and forever. I highly recommend Kissing Games to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
A return to Kissing Creek always lifts my spirit. This second book in the series, which could be read as a standalone, has us getting to know Sloane and Ryan.
As she was growing up, Sloane was always moving around. She always wanted to find the perfect small town and put down her roots once and for all. She fell in love with Kissing Creek and her life is finally coming together.
Ryan knows he is the town hero more or less. He is back home in Kissing Creek healing the torn ACL that took him out of his major league career.
Sloane and Ryan work together on one of the town parade floats and start to grow closer. Lots of flirting and back and forth conversations filled with inuendo. I enjoyed that they weren't the instant love we find so often in romance these days. They slowly grew their relationship over time and conversations.
Great new release from the author. Enjoyed my return trip to Kissing Creek.
Sloane and Ryan are seriously the cutest! Their chemistry and banter was EVERYTHING!!!! Overall I loved Kissing Games and thought it was well written, full of great characters that I loved, and had me rolling. This was everything I expected from a friends-to- lovers romance, and definitely a must-read if you need a light, easy rom-com!
Just an adorable small town romance :). This one pulled at my heartstrings. Full of passionate and humorous scenes alike - you’ll love this sweet HEA!
As the first book from the author, I get to read I wasn't all that sure what to expect but it was overall a very enjoyable read. Funny in the sense it starts with the mentions of an erotic book club and how the main lead, certified grumpy frustrated athlete, finds out about the club because his parents were... using the knowledge lol
Absolutely loved the banter and our leading lady being so proud of her individuality.
• Small town romance
• Light read
• Friends to lovers
• Spice level: maybe 1?
I do believe the chance for a higher spice level was missed though, considering Sloane had this special type of book club and all that.
I received an arc through NetGalley in exchange of an honest review, all opinions are based on my own experience reading the story. Thanks to Entangled Publishing for the chance.
Kissing Games by Stephanie London is such an entertaining and cute read! If you're looking for a friends-to-lovers story with a small-town vibe then you won't be disappointed.
Sloan and Ryan are paired together to decorate this small town’s floats for the Halloween parade. However, Ryan is leaving in a few months to resume his baseball career, so they both want to avoid romantic entanglements.
Ryan is a great hero - he's there for Sloan when she needs him but doesn't push, introduces her to his friends, and is proud to be with her. He's masculine but is also a softy.
Meanwhile, Sloan just reminds me of...me. She's trying to put down roots in a new town, care for her house, do a good job where she works at the library, and basically just like a happy life. And I wanted that so badly for her! I also wanted her to get with Ryan (obviously) so even I was conflicted as the reader. Luckily, there's a very happy and satisfying ending.
This is a great choice for romantic comedy lovers who still want a real book filled with real people. While it's not high on angst, it still kept me on the edge of my seat (couch) because I wanted to see these two end up together so badly! And the witty banter is just so perfect.
I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.
This was my first book by Stefanie London, and I'm so glad I gave it a read. Sloane has my ideal dream job working in a library and hosting book clubs. I love that she wants to build solid roots in Kissing Creek. Her joy and love for the town is infectious. I can see myself getting giddy and excited about things like the Halloween parade. Ryan is very driven about his baseball career, and that is highly understandable. He has worked and sacrificed so much to get to where he is. I felt for him having to deal with the uncertainty of whether he would even still have a baseball career or not. Meeting and falling for Sloane was not what he had planned, but it was what he needed. He just didn't know it at the time. These two complimented each other very well, and the chemistry poured off the pages. Stefanie London has indeed made me a fan.
This was a cute, light read. I didn’t read the first book in this series, but that didn’t effect my experience at all. I enjoyed the relationship between the main characters, although it was a little insta-love. Also, the first “romantic” scene was not great. It was formulaic and cheesy and really took me out of the book. I enjoyed the writing, apart from that scene. Also, I didn’t love the epilogue ending with a pregnancy. I know that’s common, but it’s just not my cup of tea.
Overall, I thought this a a fun, quick read that will likely appeal to most readers interested in this genre.
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for providing me access to this eARC for my honest!
This was a fun and quick read! It's not overly complicated or complex, but it's a comforting romance read, with a lot of the little things I look for in a contemporary romance. Ryan is an aging star athlete, faced with injuries and the potential end of his MLB career, while Sloane is struggling to carve out a real home for herself. They both have issues to work through outside of their romantic relationship and it's nice to see them grow.
Small town romance books can be cheesy, but this one kind of leans into it and it works. Everyone in everyone's business, the old ladies fawning over the main characters, parades, book clubs, it's all there.
I would recommend if you like: small town romances, heavy flirtation.
I would not recommend if you don't like: romances that follow a basic formula.
Ryan Bower is back in his hometown staying with his parents while he recovers from an injury. He is a pitcher for a MLB team in Toronto, 6'5" and very handsome. He comes home to be stuck in a house with his very frisky parents and no kid wants to overhear that no matter how old they are and how much you understand healthy relationships lol.
He stumbles on a romance novel that has the library branch and name after he overhears them mention the book as he sneaks past their door to leave. Going to confront this librarian he did not expect to find an adorable, lively, dinosaur print wearing young woman. After they have some words where they don't back down. She dares him to read the book. Well this book is 🔥🔥🔥I really hope there's a Chapter 21 that we can read cause what happens in that chapter lol.
Sloane Rickman has only been in town for a few years and doesn't have any close friends her age. After her run in with Ryan and some Google searches she decides to try a list of how to make a friend on him (close proximity alert). She's so adorable and it's also sad since her mother's job never stopped her family moving ever year she never had the chance to make a friend long term. So the ending of her parents relationship due to her mother's demanding job is something she holds on to.
The chemistry between Ryan and Sloane once they started to work together for the Halloween parade was 🔥🔥. Buddy reading that spicy book may have added fuel to the fire.
But when things start to get serious will Sloane who's finally found a place she can set down roots hold on or will she follow the guy that has the demanding job that might uproot her?
These two were so cute and hilarious! And there's a pesky llama. The romance novel got all the older couples in the town all glowing and the kids blushing. The obligatory , well where do you think you came from, comments were made. Lol .
Totally recommend

Thank you entangledpub and netgalley for the e-ARC for my honest and voluntary revew.
Kissing Games takes us back to Stefanie London’s Kissing Creek series, but it’s truly a standalone title. It’s a lighthearted, fun, and quirky romantic comedy. But it’s not without its emotional moments. With plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, it’s easy to overlook the deeper themes and feelings the author touches on with these two main characters, and she does an excellent job balancing the comedic and emotional scenes. The main characters are opposites in almost every way. Ryan is deeply committed to his career, while Sloane is deeply committed to fitting in and finding her true home in her community. And that’s just the beginning. If you’re looking for a great romantic comedy that doesn’t overlook a good life lesson or two paired with some appropriately steamy moments, look no further. Kissing Games is guaranteed to entertain.
This is my first book by this author and it won’t be my last. This is such a fun, sweet and emotional book that is filled with second chances and finding new life aspirations.
Ryan is a baseball player back home after hurting himself, she’s the quirky librarian aka the smut peddler that get off on the wrong foot but their friends to lovers dynamic is sweet, tension filled, they understand each other and they enjoy getting to know each other and what they want. He is only meant to be temporary but their feelings are definitely stronger as they spend more time together.
I think the author did a great job of using friends for lovers, opposites attract in a small town. It’s funny, engaging, quick paced and so sweet and steamy! I thought the romance gave enough angst, steam, cuteness and sweetness that it made sense for their relationship progression and I mean who doesn’t want a hot baseball player to read your steamy books with you? And then reenact them? Hot!
I really enjoyed this book and I think anyone that likes a book that will make them blush, laugh and smile will like this book.
