Delightful rom com that combines so many things that I love- baseball, books, family…all a win win! While you can read this as a stand alone I do suggest you read the first in the series so you can pick up on the little nuggets scattered throughout that only someone who has read the Oder will understand.
If you are wanting a well written, light romance book with small town feels (think local barista remembering your order) this is it.

This was a cute, fun, and light read!

It was set in a small town with an awesome and entertaining group of supporting characters. There is something about small-town romances that make me feel warm and fuzzy when reading. It makes me happy when the leads are surrounded by kind, loving, and funny people.

The way Ryan and Sloane got to know each other because of the *coughs* ramifications of a steamy book was so unique and amusing, though it caused a bit of a rift between them upon meeting. However, they had this undeniable tension and attraction between them right from the start veiled with exchanges of sarcasm and provocation. Their banters were so funny and entertaining albeit having stereotypes against each other which they quickly set straight when they got closer. Sloane was a lovely and kind woman who was looking for somewhere to belong. It was sad how she felt like she didn't fit in with anyone or anywhere, always being left out. That's why I felt happy for her when she finally found her people with the kind help of Ryan—how he shared his people with her. Ryan was described as grumpy in this book, but I didn't really feel like he was. He was gentle and playful amidst the verbal battles he had with Sloane. They were so cute together, but personally, I wished I could have seen more of them being friends, dancing around the tension between them. It's just me and my love for slow burns lol.

This was a story of two people finding somewhere to belong—Sloane, after spending all of her life going places in search of it, and Ryan, for a life outside baseball which had always been his whole life. It was heartwarming how they found it in each other—a friend, a lover, and a home.

Thank you NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for an ARC of this book!

This was cute! I liked both of the characters and I liked the storyline, but I felt that the romance itself was a bit lacking bc it was fast and didn't feel very intense to me. Overall a pretty predictable read but entertaining nonetheless.

Loved, loved, LOVED this book. This book kept me hooked all the way through. The relationship between the MC's honestly killed me 😂 and the steam was chef's kiss 💋. Easy 5⭐. Highly recommend.

I loved the story of Ryan and Sloane. Each character had motivations that felt completely believable to me, and I felt that the ending was ending was very well done.

I was instantly hooked on the chemistry between the main characters, and I can't wait to read more by Stefanie London.

What do you get when you cross a llama, with a baseball player, and a steamy book club? Kissing Games by Stefanie London. This romance book is definitely quirky - an injured baseball player returns to his hometown and runs into the adorable, dinosaur-obsessed librarian because his parents are in her steamy book club.

What I liked: I think the book explored some interesting themes about sacrifice in relationships and being true to yourself. As a book lover, I also love any story where the librarian plays a key role.

What could be better: The whole book felt rushed from beginning to end. I wanted more of their relationship and more time for everything to develop. I found it hard to connect to the characters because I didn’t have enough time with them. As a sports romance fan, I also wanted baseball to play a bigger role.

The story is kinda cute so I would give it 3 out of 5 stars. There were a few things that I think would have helped to really knock it out of the park (ha- a baseball joke) but it was a quick read nonetheless.

Thank you very much Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange of an honest review.

This was the first book I have read by this author and I have to say that I was surprised. Despite being the second part in a series I can say that it can be understood without any problem without having read the previous one.

The first thing that caught my attention was the plot, as I had never read a book in which the main character was a baseball player. I have read many books in which one of them is a professional player, but never one like this and I liked a change of register.

I really liked the relationship between the main characters, from the moment they meet until the epilogue. However, although the idea of the book is good and I like what the author is telling, what I didn't like was its development. There have been times when I found the reading a bit heavy and it took me out of the story a bit.

Despite all this, it is a very fast paced book, perfect to read in one afternoon. In addition, the fact that the pov of the different protagonists alternate in the same chapter makes it a very light read.

I will definitely keep reading this author.

Golden boy Ryan Bower is back home in Kissing Creek after an ACL injury puts a halt on his MLB pitching career. Librarian Sloane Rickman is the quirky newcomer already stirring up trouble with her spicy book club. In an attempt to make some new friends, Sloane volunteers herself to work with Ryan on a float for the town’s Halloween parade.

Kissing Games is a funny, lighthearted romance. It is the second book in the Kissing Creek series. Although it is part of a series, it can also be read as a stand-alone. (I have not yet read the first book in the series but will soon.)

The chemistry between Sloane and Ryan is apparent from the very beginning. The plot is fast paced with no lull. I really enjoyed the playful banter between the main characters. I appreciate that the author set the storyline around Halloween. (A person can only read so many Christmas romances before they get repetitive.)

This is the first book that I’ve read from Stefanie London but I plan to read the first book in the Kissing Creek series along with some of her other works.

Ryan Bower is back in Kissing Creek to stay with his family while he nurses an injury sustained, passing time until his return to his career in MLB.
Sloane Rickman is the new small town librarian, looking to find a stable home and set down roots. Cue boy meets girl - if that includes boy accusing girl of scandalizing the town with her risqué book club pick. 😉

This was a charming small town romcom, lighthearted but with some heart. Sloane was sweet and relatable - I could feel her longing for belonging and a family base. Ryan was charming and I appreciated his growth and coming to terms as the story evolved. The two had good banter, and I was happy to see them become friends and then more.

I was pleased to find out this one is part of a series, and look forward to grabbing book 1 to try next. I also would love to see Trudy get a HEA in a future book.

Thank you to Entangled Publishing for the chance to sneak a peek at an early copy. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and freely given.

Kissing Games is the 2nd book in the Kissing Creek series and it was a light hearted and entertaining read. This small town/grump sunshine/ romantic comedy gave us two likable main characters Sloane and Ryan, the town librarian and the major league baseball player, who had an amusing meet cute and then ended up bonding while building a float. They had great chemistry and I loved their back and forth banter. The witty insults and flirty remarks made their chemistry so much more obvious. There was a great cast of secondary characters who provided great hilarity and helped to move the novel forward. This is a story that shows sometimes you can have everything you dream off and it still might not be enough without the right person to share it with. Its about family, love, finding home and making friends. I enjoyed this tale and would recommend it to lovers of small town romance.

the kissing games
rating : 4 / 5
this small town romance has it hall. it has the tension, the banter , the slow burn and also has the humor. Ryan and Sloane couldnt be more perfect and they are so cute and also when they tease and taunt each other im either laughing or swooning. they are the couple who would totally be the centre of attention. the beast thing about them is that the characters are written so beautifully and you can totally understand their point of view and feel what they are going through. also i am so desperate to know what was in stormy pleasures that is the most hilarious element of the whole story.
when Ryan set Sloane up for a friend i literally melted they are the cutest and the most thoughtful people ever.the best part about the small town trope was there wasnt much meddling, whereas all the small town tropes have meddlesome characters. so thats a plus.

"Wanting you is inevitable."

Kissing Games is a fast and fun romance set in the small town of Kissing Creek. It follows hometown hero, Ryan Bower, a pro-baseballer who's in town recovering from a season-ending injury. He instantly clashes with the town's quirky librarian, Sloane. They both want different things in life: Ryan, to continue playing ball in Toronto, and Sloane, to settle into small-town life and create a home. But they can't deny their attraction...

The thing I loved most about Kissing Games was the banter between Ryan and Sloane. From the get-go the pair were at a verbal battle, throwing witty insults and flirty remarks left and right. I loved the back and forth and the banter just made their chemistry so much more apparent (as did a few steamy scenes).

I also loved both Ryan and Sloane. Ryan was a total charmer and I loved his confidence. Meanwhile, Sloane was sharp-witted and charismatic, with a vulnerable side that shone through when she was with Ryan. Ryan called her "a rainbow tornado of a woman with a tongue like a razor blade", which is very accurate 😂.

Kissing Games wasn't without its depth either, as it had a strong focus on family, finding home and making friends as an adult, which I can 100% relate to. Coupled with a great cast of supporting characters, I highly recommend checking out this wonderful romance by Stefanie London.

“Kissing Games” is a light hearted, low angst romance between a small town librarian, Sloane, and an injured baseball player, Ryan, who returns home to recover from injury. This is the second book in the Kissing Creek series but it works well as a stand alone. The author builds an adorable small town, filled with slightly quirky residents, which serves as a nice background for the romance building between Sloane and Ryan. It was an enjoyable read and I recommend to anyone who loves small town romance!

"Kissing Games" is the second book in the "Kissing Creek" series. In "Kissing Games", by Stefanie London, young and quirky librarian Sloane runs a local book club. Ryan is a local sports hero who returns home to recover from a knee surgery. When Sloane's book club begins reading a risqué romance book and causes Ryan's parents to become more "energetic", Ryan heads to the library to complain. However, he gets one look at Sloane and the sparks begin to fly. Can she help him lose the grumpy facade? And can he help her believe in love again?

A big thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. A run away llama, a spicy book club choice all in a small town setting. The characters were fun. I thought this was a cute, easy read. Fun times abound. There are challenges in every relationship, nice that they worked it out. 4 strs

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Ryan Bowers is a major league pitcher who goes back to his hometown, Kissing Creek, when he needs to recover from a torn ACL. He is 35, and at a crossroads in his career. Sloane Rickman is the town librarian. She moved to Kissing Creek three years ago, hoping to find a place she could put down roots. On the surface, Ryan and Sloan are such likable characters. When you scratch below the surface you get two complicated people with a lot of insecurities and loneliness. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

Sloane and Ryan strike sparks off of each other from the very beginning. They have such great banter all the way through the book. It is obvious that they will be a terrific couple. But they have very different goals for their lives. To Sloane, Ryan is a reminder of her parents' miserable marriage. To Ryan, Sloane is living a small town life that he deliberately left behind. But as they read through the steamy book that the library book club is reading, some new ideas come to light. Maybe each of them could be more if they gave love a chance. I really enjoyed the humor in this book, especially the trick-or-treating date. That made it a 5-star read for me.

Like most of Stefanie London's books, Kissing Games is an easy read with a delightful cast of characters. There's sexual tension, funny moments and cute banter. There's the small town homely girl, as well as the motivated well-off male. I enjoyed that the drama wasn't too high strung and nothing regrettable occurred.
Definitely a book to make you smile.

Absolutely charming!

Stefanie London is a new-to-me author and Kissing Games had me hooked with a rogue llama and a steamy book club pick sparking a hilarious meet-cute.

I adored Sloane and Ryan's story. Heartfelt, emotional yet lighthearted, fun and witty, steamy and swoony, a fantastic cast of characters, and an autumnal theme that would be a perfect Halloween romance read.

Kissing Games (Kissing Creek, #2) can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. I didn't even know there was a previous book, Kissing Lessons (Kissing Creek, #1) but I will be going back to check it out!
