It was well written, the story was easy to follow and it had a wonderful flow to the story
It is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. An interactive, touch-and-feel board book about getting ready for bed.
Little bear must sleep, so said his mommy. But like little ones, he makes excuses, seeing other animals still roaming around. A nice bedtime story, will tabs you can pull to reveal Mommy bear's answers, hopefully will encourage kids to go to bed at night on time.
What a sweet, soothing wind-down book! It's time to sleep, but Little Bear notices all the animals that seem to still be awake. Mommy Bear explains that they're all going to bed too, and it's time for Little Bear to follow.
There is a nice repeating pattern in the text that will make a soothing refrain while reading. Kids will enjoy seeing all the different animals and learning how they go to sleep. The detailed illustrations and interactive ribbon pulls will help kids engage with the story. This could definitely become an oft-repeated favorite for bedtime!
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
I gravitate toward stories about the peace and quiet of nighttime. In this picture book, a little bear is wondering why he has to go to bed soon, so his mother points out how all the other animals around them are also aiming to sleep. The story exudes an aura of relaxation with its storyline and lovely illustrations. I read this via NetGalley, courtesy of the publisher.
Cute and simple bedtime book, which is perfect to end the night with. The illustrations are adorable and perfect for adding some sensory elements to!
This is a cute little book about a bear who doesn't want to go to bed and tries really hard to stay up. I think kids will definitely like this book and the illustrations are fantastic.
This is a simple but effective bedtime story for very young children. I like that it includes nature as Little Bear and his mother are walking home. Little Bear learns that bees, squirrels, rabbits, butterflies and others all head home for some sleep.
The illustrations enhance the story.Watch as the sky gets darker as the story goes on.
The info on this title says to pull a ribbon to explore the story. With an e galley, I could not do this.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto-Frances Lincoln Children’s Books. All opinions are my own.
This book will be published on 26 Apr 2022.
Thank you #Netgalley, Happy Yak, and Frances Lincoln Children's Books for providing this arc.
'Bedtime, Little Bear' is a charming, interactive board book you'll want for your young children's bedtime reading rotation. With illustrations that mimic the transition to nighttime and a soothing, repetitive rhythm ("Flying to their nest to sleep, Little Bear" / "Buzzing to their hive to sleep, Little Bear"), this board book teaches children about the natural routine of bedtime in a relaxing, calming way. Recommended for little ones!
I received this arc in exchange for my honest review.
This was a sweet bedtime read! I will definitely be adding it into our nightly rotation. The illustrations were so cute and the story was simple and easy to follow as animals went to sleep.

This is a really cute book. The child that I read it to enjoyed it!
Bedtime reading is such a special time at our house that is full of snuggles and love. Bedtime, Little Bear is exactly the kind of book that we love to incorporate into this time. The artwork is really sweet and it is especially wonderful that this book is interactive. Reading books like this one truly becomes a time of bonding and sharing a love of books with the littlest of readers as they become relaxed and ready for sleep at the end of a busy day.
Thank you netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group for providing me with an advanced release digital copy of this sweet little book that is sure to become a bedtime favorite for babies.

This is a cute board book for toddlers about bedtime. This really resonated with me as my toddler will find anything under the sun to delay bedtime. The little bear in this story was telling his Mommy that all the other insects and animals were still awake and didn’t understand why HE had to go to bed. Of course Mama Bear always has the answers. This was an adorable quick read for babies and toddlers.
I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
Bedtime, Little Bear is a cute children's book aimed at younger children to encourage a good bedtime routine. This book is ideal for little ones to teach them that everyone goes to sleep at the end of the day and is relaxing, enabling the child to wind down ready for sleep. I got the Kindle version without the lift-the-flaps or pull-tabs, but I can see these extras on the physical book being really enchanting to the child. This book is a great little book full of lovely illustrations, soothing words, and is a great book for a child to share with someone who loves them before settling down into bed for the night.
Little bear isn’t ready for bed but everyone else is. In this book we follow little bear and other animals on their journey to bed time.
I’m always glad to read books geared toward urging little ones on to dream land, and I’ve got to say, Happy Yak’s Bedtime, Little Bear is one of the cutest!
Michelle Carlslund’s adorable illustrations are simply delightful. And I’m so sorry I’ve only got a digital copy of Bedtime, Little Bear, because I desperately want to pull those ribbons!
Happy Yak’s charming narration of Mommy Bear leading her cub home will captivate toddlers, and will no doubt be requested repeatedly at storytime.
A sweet little story for bedtime. Featuring cute little animals and lovely illustrations. The little bear doesn’t want to go to sleep but all the other animals are. A great book with a great story behind it.
A book I’d recommend for children who do not want to go to sleep.
The young bear who does not want to sleep, tries to find every reason to stay awake, but the mother bear are ready for a simple argument as to why they should sleep.
I really liked the artwork in this book, and the simple message of trying to get their child to go to sleep. I’d recommend it!
An enjoyable board book for toddlers about getting to bed. Little Bear sees different animals getting ready for bed. I think toddlers will especially enjoy the interactive elements of this book.

Digitally, the interactive side of this – all pull-tabs and sliders (not the fast food kind, I don't think) doesn't come across, but the visuals are strong, and it's a pleasant 'my first sending-me-to-sleep' book, with some nice animals tucking into their respective beds, even if the young bear cub at the centre of the story – much like the reader – doesn't want to quit the day yet. The collage style of the graphics makes this very friendly.
