I received this from Netgalley.com.
Third in series, Wolf Stockburn, Railroad Detective, chases after thief and murderer Red Miller.
Overall, an okay read though the chase between Wolf and Red got too long and drawn out. I liked the characters which are typical portrayals, the good guy perseveres and the bad guy loses.

“Kill Red” by Max O'Hara is an intriguing story set both in Mexico and the United States. It is the third novel focusing on Wolf Stockton, Wells Fargo railroad detective. The focus of the story is on a bad hombre named Red Miller. He is about as nefarious a person as one could imagine and is known for indiscriminate murder and other crimes that lead to him and his gang making more money.
Stockton, along with an unexpected cast of extras, determines to track him down and bring him to justice. This quest leads into Mexico along with confrontations with Mexican Rurales who are in many ways as bad as Miller’s gang.
Joining the detective are a couple of very strong women, which normally don’t appear in Western novels. It is refreshing to see more strong female roles in a Western.
Be ready for lots of action and some heinous behavior while reading this book. It is an enjoyable read and one that is hard to put down once started. The male characters are not particularly deep but the female ones show much strength both physical as well and mental.
