I don't really know what clinched it for me, whether it was the likeable, down to earth Beth, the sexy, kind, actor Rocco or the adorable escape artist dog Houdini, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I always love Rich Amooi's simple, light-hearted, positive and humorous style and this book was absolutely no different.
I was completely rooting for Beth's happiness and I adored the ending. Nothing wrong with a bit of spice either!
I found this one to be on slow side, The story was cute but a little too cheesy for my liking. I felt like the main female character lacked a lot of depth. There were some funny moments, but overall this won't be a memorable novel for me...
NOT a fan of the cover. She looks anorexic and I got pretty tired of reading it towards the end. I just wanted it to be over.
First of all, the title! immediately sold! This was such a cute and funny story. I was drawn in instantly. The characters were all relatable and brought a lot to the story. Houdini the dog was my favorite character!
The book was getting way too tiresome at the end. the fun and exciting beginning got lost somewhere. I didn't really get the chemistry between the characters and the side characters were pretty annoying. The Hero did not have that charming-ness for a rom com hero
A fun swoony Rom-com. With loud and loud moments, great banter and enemies to lovers tensions that keeps you “reading” for more. This is my first Amooi book but it won’t be my last. I loved the humor mixed within the pages of this one and I’m excited to see more from this author.
Thank you for my free copy in exchange for an honest review! I found this book to be a little flat regarding the characters and writing. There were good moments, but overall a forgettable book. The book felt rushed, and tried to accomplish too much in the chapters. This was a book where the cover and title intrigued mee but let me down on the plot.
It was trying too hard to be interesting and funny that it became boring and just cringy. The insta-love was awkward.

This was such a fun and light-hearted read! It was simply a very feel-good book that I couldn't stop grinning the whole time I was reading. I liked the fun characters and their chemistry. I liked how they started off on the wrong foot and then so easily shifted that into friendship and then something more. I adored their exchanges and playfulness with each other. It was really entertaining and cute.
Rocco had such a beautiful heart. Like?? How could a man who have so much in his life be so down-to-earth? I just loved him. Beth was a fun character as well. She was funny and could banter with Rocco for days. I also liked how they are so cute about their shared interests.
The conflict at the end felt a bit out of the blue and resolved in a rather rushed manner. Although, I wouldn't have liked conflicts to be dragged so I guess it's okay. All in all, this was a very light, fun, a little cheesy, read that sure kept a smile on my face. (The supporting characters are cute too.)
Who doesn't love a romance book that also has an adorable dog? This was a great little romance that I would recommend for anyone who loves romcoms!
This book was the perfect mix of sweet, funny and a lot of love! And if you’re a dog lover, double the love! This book is a must read in your bookshelf and will have you craving more from this author, so be warned!

Men or Paws is an amazing romcom book
Beth is starting to create a business on making organic dog treats. Rocco is in need for a dog sitter due to him having to focus on reading scripts. Rocco dog Houdini was now In favored of Beth’s hands for 3 weeks.
Overall this book was so was so cute and very funny. If you love books that are based off dogs this book is for you. This book was so entertaining and I could not stop reading it!! I highly recommend reading this book!!
This book sounded really cute - a famous bad boy hero and a dog, what's not to love! - but overall it unfortunately fell a bit flat. I didn't connect with the characters and found the a bit annoying for much of the book. One I wouldn't pick up for a re-read!
Thank you to the publisher for a review copy of the book.
2.5 stars rounded up.
The book was good. The characters weren't as fleshed out, the plot was feeble and the suspension of disbelief was high. The writing was good and that is what saved this book in my opinion.
I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley. It doesn't impact my opinion in any way.
Sadly, this was a DNF book for me. I tried I really did. I picked it up multiple times but kept putting it back down and forced myself to open it again. Ultimately, I think it was just a matter of not connecting with the characters. Though, the premise sounded really cute, it just wasn't for me.
Thank you Netgalley and author for the book copy.
This checked off everything I look for in a book. Was not disappointed. Really enjoyed this book. I will read more from this author. a fun read and really good one.
Rocco is Hollywood’s sexiest man alive and he is also Hollywood’s Bad Boy! Please know that while reading Rocco’s part, all I could see in my head was Ryan Reynolds)
Beth is a Chef and her passion is organic food. More like organic dog food and treats! (Yes, you know Beth had a face too in my mind…Sandra Bullock)
This book was very well written, very witty, hilarious, steamy, sexy, and romantic.
I am not a big fan of the cover but the synopsis is everything!!!! As soon as I read it, I had to read this book.
Thank you NetGalley for bringing Rocco and Beth into my life.
P.s. this book could totally be a series on Netflix! I mean I would vote yes for that!!!
Light, fun and easy read. Perfect beach read. Thank you netgalley and publisher for this arc in exchange of an honest review.
This book has some cute moments but was plagued with a heroine would had very little depth, a rather flat personality and a serious lack of chemistry between the two main characters. No matter how many times you say characters have chemistry - if you don’t show it, it’s not effective and that was the case here. It was insta love but also slow burn — an odd combo — and the payoff wasn’t there in steam factor or a big emotional love story. The plot was rather thin with very little happening that wasn’t rather tucked in a tiny box. Rocco was cute, I enjoyed his perspective more than Beth’s and his do-gooder self had some charm. Their initial phone conversation meeting was funny - I wish it maintained that same tone more often.
I found the pacing challenging and due to the slow burn element and limited plot events, the pacing of the book was challenging for me and I struggled to stay engaged through several chunks of it. Houdini - the dog - was honestly the star of the show and adorable and the weirdly poop obsessed neighbour was pretty funny.
The book cute but the lack of chemistry, limited plot and the rather flat heroine were challenges. Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me to read an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review!
