The book was a perfect mix of laughter and swooning romance.I love a book with a good and witty banter with characters.it had me smiling throughout. Fun and easy read. You just fly through the book loved it. 4 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I enjoyed this book. I liked the characters, main and secondary. And it had a dog! Who doesn’t enjoy books with dogs?
It was a quick read. Rocco hired Beth to be his dog sitter while he worked. It was a cute story. The banter back and forth was fun to read not only with each other but with the neighbor next door.
I was in the mood for something light and Men or Paws was absolutely perfect. I liked the setup a lot (Hollywood star and dog sitter) plus I found both hero and heroine likable. I'm also a sucker for any romances where a pooch is one of the supporting characters. The romance is very sweet and although I wasn't expecting it to be so clean, I enjoyed the novel immensely.
This book had me reading faster than my brain could keep up! I smiled and laughed through the first half and held my breath through the second! I couldn’t wait to see what happened, but I also didn’t want it to end! It was swoony and flirty, funny, and real. These characters feel more realistic than a lot of other rom coms. This book hit all the right spots! It was hilarious I love how they communicated and the banter was fantastic!
AND if all of that isn’t reason enough to get this book now; ten percent of all proceeds from sales of this book will be donated to SPCA International. It’s really a win-win!
This was my second Rich Amooi book. I’m a sucker for a book with a prominent canine character, especially a Golden Retriever, and this book has two! The romance between the primary characters, Beth, a chef and want-to-be canine treat baker, and Rocco, a full-fledged movie star, who hires Beth as a temporary dog-sitter, was sweet and the supporting characters offered a lot to fill out the story. The primary characters were sufficiently developed so that their choices were understandable. The dialogue and banter enriched the story.
I was not wholly enamored with Beth. I found her cajoling Rocco to look for “lost” family members to be unwise, given his celebrity. She also made an unreasonable demand of Rocco, an ultimatum really, considering the nature of filmmaking, on which she seemed cavalierly willing to gamble their entire future. An epilogue wrapped up that storyline in a way that was not completely unbelievable and should please most readers.
I prefer a little more snark, and steam, but this was a sweet romance with a pleasant ending.

I always enjoy Amooi's books as I know I can count on them for a cute, fun, funny, cheesy, light, enjoyable read! I found myself rooting for both main characters for the entire book. Yes, it had some cheesy or predictable moments but nothing I found too distracting. I'll definitely keep picking up Amooi's books for a solid, lighthearted read.
From the moment you read the synopsis, you know it will be interesting and it is really interesting. Of course it wasn't cliche at all with minor relationship conflicts. Fun and enjoyable rom-com story of an actor and a nobody who dog-sitting the actor's dog. Their love progress was really enjoyable. Them being hating from one side to mutually in love.
I like how smart Beth is and to be honest I'm getting a cliche impression of this story which is about a cold-blooded/hot headed man with a clumsy girl. But looking at Beth she is nothing but a smart and funny woman. And Rocco is just too fine. I like how he clears a misunderstanding in a smart way without having too many arguments. And dang how can we find a man with not much of an ego like Rocco. Now I'm thinking back that both of them are so smart in their own way. They make a perfect couple together. Not to mention, their chemistry is killing it!
Go read it. It is definitely worth your time.
Absolutely loved this book - not only does it read well and its a fun and easy read - but I can totally picture this book as a movie :) Lots of Laugh out loud moments is this rom - com! Houdini was definitely the star of this book but the characters and story are fun and relatable

This was such a cute and clean book. It actually took me so long to read because I read it in-between a trip that I made and tried to sneak in reading anytime I could. I love the characters it covers some deep topics but it keeps it light. I love it when books flow and this one did it just makes it so easy to read.
This is a wonderful, lighthearted easy read! It has all the ingredients for a great rom com - celebrity love interest, adorable dog, enemies to lovers and more! I LOVED Houdini, I could have had even more plot with him in it!
This is my first book from this author and definitely made me want to check out his other works.
I do wish the enemies to lovers would have been a little bit more of a slow burn, but the ending made up for any shortcomings for me. I’d read again and highly recommend!

In reviews, I usually try and get creative with my thoughts, but this one, I'm having a hard time. Overall I liked it, the story of Beth and Rocco, and Houdini of course, was super cute. I love a good story where a super fun pup brings the characters together. In this one though, there really wasn't much that happened. Sure, we get a beginning, middle, and end. And the end is just as adorable as all of the other parts, but nothing really happened. They met, they were attracted to each other, and their love grew. The end. Not much more to this one than a cute read, with likeable if not loveable characters.
This was a cute, sweet romance that went by much too fast. It was a fun story with lots of flirty banter, and very likeable characters. This would be perfect for a beach read.
Apart from the unfortunate title and names in the book 'captain clapton'? It was an overall funny, light hearted romance. The lead up to the first kiss to forever even though the characters had insta love like within one week declaring love. It was an odd pace to be madly in love with each other but not even having a first kiss for the first 80%.
I don't know usually i would say a book needs to be slow burn or insta love combining the two tropes didn't mesh well for me.
It was a quick and light hearted romance so would pick up more books by this author.

Ughh I do not have enough words to describe how amazing this book was!! I absolutely loved all the characters!! Houdini definitely has my heart along with Rocco and Beth!! Their progress in relationship is amazing and i am usually not a fan of the miscommunication trope but in this one the author did it right!! I would a hundred percent recommend this book to anyone who loves dogs and wants to read romance.
Rich Amooi’s “Men or Paws” delighted me as a romantic and humorous novel with enough conflict from a mischievous dog and quirky neighbor to keep me engaged. I loved the modern aspects and power to make a difference efforts that were included as I’m a believer of volunteer work and philanthropy.
Beth & Rocco’s witty banter and chemistry made this an easy read with a Happily Ever After.
I look forward to reading more of Rich’s books!
Men or Paws by Rich Amooi is a laugh out loud, feel good rom com complete with slapstick, bad puns and a dog named Houdini. I couldn’t have loved this more. I am still chuckling as I type this. Great characters kept me flipping pages. Seriously, read this book.
Thank you netgallary for the ARC. Dog mom here and the title had me. But it turns out I loved the book also. It has a bit of the enemy to lovers that I really enjoy and it had your classic romcom story. Lots of laugh out loud moments.
I loved this book!! The dog was my favorite and the characters, a close second! A cute and quick read which was fun from beginning to end.
📕 Men or Paws Book Review! 📕
Rich Amooi
Men or Paws involves a hot celebrity, a cute dog sitter, and an escape artist retriever named Houdini who can open doors!
This book was a great read! I love a good rom-com, and this one did not disappoint. The characters were liveable and the enemies to lovers’ banter was funny and full of witty sarcasm.
Rick Amooi is a new author for me, and if his other books are anything like this one then I can’t wait to read them all!

A charming and delightful romantic comedy. Fun to read about a Hollywood star's life. Drool over the cars mentioned. Lots of silliness of the romantic variety. The things we say and do while falling in love. Cute, but only adorable to the couple involved. Makes the rest of us shake our heads. Reminded me of those first throes of my own romantic relationship. Sweet bit of escapism. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley.
