The whodunnit is overshadowed by uproarious laughter! So many of the characters are brainless twits. I had to read it in spurts, but I loved the laughs. Be aware that there is some stuff that is decidedly non-PC for today's sensibilities, but those days are over. If you can't laugh it off, it just might return.
I requested and received a free e-book from Poisoned Pen Press via NetGalley. Thanks!

A family gathering at Christmas. Thick, heavy snow. Relatives with secrets. A mysterious death, or is it murder?

This is a very nostalgic book. The writing is definitely from another era! Full of twists and turns, with the odd red herring thrown in for good measure.

Very reminiscent of Agatha Christie books, with servants, big houses, poisons, solicitors and wills.

The cast of thousands does make it hard going at times, but it was still a joy to read, and although the plot was very convoluted, it was extremely enjoyable to have a story from before the times of DNA and developed forensics, just good old fashioned coppering!

Thank you NetGalley.

Intrigue and mystery…family and friends…secrets and murder…this book was sent to me by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher for the electronic copy. This is like reading Agatha Christie. I am glad that the publisher is bringing these stories to us. Red herrings abound…trying to discern the ending…a real puzzle…enjoy
