Amazing. Billie Starr's Book of Sorries pulls you in and sticks with you even after you've read the last page. Author Deborah E. Kennedy uses her words like Picasso used a paint brush.
This is very much a Character driven book, somewhat of a mystery.
What I appreciate about BSBoS is that it gives equal bashing of both sides of Politics. Lately I've been reading fiction, when out of no where, there is bashing aimed at one side. In Fiction that has NOTHING to do with politics,
In this book, attractive Jenny, goes to work for a Politician in a Mid West town. Her life has been difficult to say the least, and she doesn't always make the wisest choices.
She has a wonderful daughter, Billie Starr, that is smart, funny, and is the true "Starr" of this book.
A wide cast of supporting characters that at times, became a bit of a struggle for me to remember who was who, but didn't take away from the story. Also, this might be a result of my aging brain!
This has big movie potential, though I couldn't see how the movie would ever be as eloquent and beautiful as the book.
Like a flashing GREEN light: WOW WOW WOW.
