This was a super enjoyable book! This is my second Sally Hepworth read and I am just loving her writing style and story-telling abilities. I’m finding the plot of her books are a bit of a slow burn but the way she lays out the mystery/suspense of it all keeps you invested and makes the story go fast.

As for The Younger Wife, I loved how the story played out. The twists and turns really had me questioning what was happening and what was going to happen. We had multiple POVs (Rachel, Tully, Heather and an unknown wedding guest) and each person played a really important role to the story as each of them had a different personality and brought a specific vibe to the plot, but each also had a different relationship with Stephen, the father/fiancé in the story, so that gave even more depth. I think Tully’s POV was my favorite - she was quite quirky and I liked seeing where she fit into the main story while she also navigated a subplot with her husband and sons.

As mystery/thrillers go, this one was super fun! Big thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for allowing me early access to this audiobook. The Younger Wife releases on April 5 so be sure to preorder a copy for yourself asap!

I was eager to read The Younger Wife after loving Hepworth's most recent release last year.
The Younger Wife took me a little while to get into, but ultimately I ended up loving the book and finished it in a day. This was a twisty domestic suspense filled with the type of gaslighting that left me as a reader questioning who to believe. There were multiple mysterious elements and storylines, as a young woman, Heather sets out to marry a much older man, Stephen, whose daughters are the same age as his new love. And if that isn't bad enough, Stephen is still married to Tully and Rachel's mother, who is living at a care facility as her alzheimers progresses.
Things are far from what they seem, and there are secrets at every turn. I loved the complex characters and their individual journeys and the care Hepworth takes in describing a number of conditions. Also, the sister relationships she writes are so strong and vivid, I can't think of anyone who does this better.
I listened to the audiobook version of this book and think it was an excellent way to experience the story.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy.

4.5 stars. Another solid read from Sally Hepworth. She is great with her twists and turns! Rachel and Tully’s father announces he’s marrying Heather, a woman a couple of years younger than them. At the same time, their mother is experiencing profound dimmentia and is living in a nurse facility. Secrets will be revealed, and Hepworth will leave you guessing until the very end! Excellent as an audiobook!

Thank you to NetGalley for the advance reader audio copy of this book. Loved the story, was not thrilled with the ending. This book addresses a lot of trigger topics including abuse, kleptomania and dementia. The story is thrilling and I like the way Hepworth gives 3 of the main characters voices during different parts of the book. 4 stars

It’s almost a cliche, a man marrying a woman the same age as his daughters. The only fly on the ointment is that Stephen already has a wife, still she’s in an assisted living facility doe people with dementia; it shouldn’t be that had to get a divorce. Rachel and Tully are sure that Heather, their father’s paramour is nothing more than a gold digger and they don’t intend to sit by and let her, and their father, disrespect their mother. But Heather has her own reasons for wanting to be married to Stephen; everyone in this book has secrets and no one is what they seem
