Balancing on the edge of magic without every truly crossing over, this is a collection of three friends and their very individual experiences with one love potion.
When I picked this one up, I didn't realize that it was a collection of three, individual tales. The first one concerns Onny, the creator of the love potion from her grandmother's recipe, and the other two center around her best friends, one a guy and one a girl, as they use their portion of the potion to find the loves of their lives. It's set in a high school setting, but, obviously, branches to each individual's surroundings. They are sweet, each one taking a slightly different direction, and each one with its very own plot and atmosphere.
From all of the tales, the first one is the one that won me over. I was a little disappointed to find that this swung into three separate tales and, I think, because of that, I had trouble sinking into the second two. Plus, the Onny's tale is what sets the background, one with plenty of heart, and gives her a depth the other two simply can't reach. Plus, the first one is a enemies to lovers situation, something I prefer over the standard, tropes. Still, even these were well done, and it'd be wrong to say they weren't enjoyable.
Fans of romance, high school drama, true friendship, and all of that with a tinsy-dab of magic are going to enjoy this one quite a bit. I received an ARC through Netgalley and enjoyed the short reads.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All Thoughts and opinions are my own. A wonderful book buy 3 of my favorite YA authors. Halloween, Magic, Love, fun. Check check check! 3 novellas that are just each perfect in their own ways, blend together into the perfect story. I loved every second of this story. The perfect Halloween story.
This is so utterly cute. Loved it to bits. It's like having three stories in one and all of them are interlinked and enjoyable. Highly recommend.
Three Kisses, One Midnight is a fun Halloween romance that links together the story of three friends who agree to all try using a love potion at a midnight gala to celebrate their town's founding. Readers looking for a read with some Halloween vibes (the potion, magic, costumers, ghosts, creepy mannequins, etc.) that isn't super scary will appreciate this one to help them get in the holiday spirit.
Unfortunately, besides the fact that it's fairly light and fun, I didn't feel the book stands out in any sense. The three-story format is interesting, as there is one story for each of the three friends, and they vaguely interconnect (though there were times I thought there were some inconsistencies between the stories; perhaps this will be ironed out before the final prints). Each character is mildly interesting, with one thing their short story sort of focuses on: Onny's interest in magic, Ash's love of art, True's struggle to move on after dumping her ex-boyfriend for being a jerk.
But overall, I just don't think the book is memorable. It wasn't really thought-provoking in any way, and I know it's going to be one of those books that, six months from now, I'll have forgotten I even read it. Maybe I'll come across this review and go, "Huh, oh yeah, I did read that," and that will be the extent of my thoughts about it.
So file this away as a light, entertaining book you might want to add to your Halloween to-read list, just to have something seasonal to get into, but don't count on it being an otherwise remarkable read, in spite of the strong trio of authors who contributed.
Founded on Halloween four hundred years ago, everyone in Moon Ridge knows the tale: every century, the Lady on Moon Ridge returns on Halloween night, determined to help those willing to follow their hearts desire. But the Coven - Onny, Ash & True - have varying believes in the tale. But a love potion, brewed from a recipe of Onny's late grandmother might be enough to change every the most skeptical of minds.
I have mixed views after reading this book. The book, told in three perspectives written by three authors, was a really cool concept. At the same time, the short pieces we get of each tale don't allow for much character building or atmosphere. The telling of the story in separate stories felt disjointed and jumbled they didn't feel like they connected at all: dropped story lines, added events.
If this book had been published in 2010, it would be a best seller. But given the current bar of contemporary novels, I was entirely underwhelmed.
Now I'm not one for witches and covens but I enjoyed this a lot. There's a different author to attend to different characters in this anthology and I thought it was well written and very well thought out! I would totally recommend this to anyone who loves witches, coven, potions, and a halloween themed YA fun novel.
Okay, this book was seriously so cute!
There was so much comfort in this book in a way that there was no angst - the tropes were clear, and while you knew how the POV was going to end it didn't make the journey any less enjoyable.
What I loved most about this book was not only the solid friendship that you can see throughout the multiple POVs but also that everything takes place simultaneously but still never felt rushed or mashed together.
There is serious magic in Moonridge and I want to be a part of it.
The characters linger with you as you know their stories did not end but begin and I will forever fantasize about their loves and their lives.
If you're looking for great comfort on a rainy day or a way to heal from heartbreak, or you just want something to make you feel soft inside - there is no other book for you than this one.
I loved the three separate love stories that tie into one. It was such a cute read that I honestly didn’t want it to end. My favorite was Ash and his secret pining that had me racing through that part of the story. I also really liked the chemistry between the three friends. The text conversations were fun to read and kept the story moving. The love potion aspect left me desperate to read this book and it didn’t disappoint. Great friendships and sweet love stories made for a light and easy read. Definitely recommend others check it out.

It’s Halloween night in the town of Moon Ridge and three close friends known as “The Coven” are going to see the town’s magic reawaken for themselves. After Onny brews a supposed love potion from a recipe handed down to her from her grandmother, she shares it with her friends, Ash and True, in hopes they can find love before midnight. Onny is on a mission to make a connection with the man of her dreams only to fall for another, Ash is trying to find the courage to let the girl next door know he exists, and True is trying to deny any of the magic thrown at her. All three characters will have a magical evening that will change their lives forever.
This such a sweet book, full of magic and love. I’ve read novels by Skye and Chokshi before and I could clearly see their striking writing styles and descriptions. As a reader, I felt like I was transported into the enchanting town of Moon Ridge on a crisp, fall Halloween. The characters in the book are great. Each of the main characters are completely different so everyone reading this novel will relate to at least one of them. I also really appreciated the adorable couple, Mr. Brightside and Mayor Grimjoy, and their well-intentioned meddling.
I was expecting the characters in this novel to be older and for it to be more mature but that was just my perception of the description and it still worked well as is. It is a fairly predictable plot but I didn’t mind it since it was so well written and enjoyable to read. It would make a cute Hallmark or Netflix rom-com to watch in the fall. I really enjoyed the subtle touches of magic throughout the novel but I felt that it was a bit excessive in True’s story even if that was the only way to make her believe in the magic. Overall, this is a beautifully written novel about opening your heart to magic and love that is perfect to read around Halloween.
I was super surprised when I started reading this that it isn’t multiple perspectives in the traditional sense. Rather than alternating scenes or chapters, the stories are told in chunks: Onny’s arc, then Ash’s, then True’s. I appreciate the attempt at something different, but.. I hated it. 😭
I felt like it was disjointed. It’s so unfortunate, because I really could have read about all three of the couples for an entire book.
Each novella features a different author and a different main character, but all are connected with an overarching theme leaving the reader entertained throughout.
The first one also has one of my favorite tropes which is rivals to lovers and it was done very well. Onny, Ash, and True each learn something about themselves as the night unfolds and plans go awry in rather humorous ways. this author combo writing about witchy best friends & love potions with halloween vibe

This is a fun concept! Instead of two authors collaborating on a story, we got three! I liked how all of the stories came together at the end and how we got glimpses of what the other characters were up to through their group chat.
Onny’s story was my favorite. She was a vibrant character who felt very alive and real, and the progression of her relationship with Byron felt the most realistic. (Plus I love a good enemies-to-lovers plot.) As an added bonus, the use of language in this story was beautiful! I really enjoyed this first story and read it in one sitting.
Ash’s story was sweet and I liked reading from the perspective of a shy, artist character who sees beauty in every facet of the world. I especially liked the scene in the abandoned house. I get frustrated though with main characters who let things just happen to them because of a lack of communication. And the logic of some of Ash’s choices didn’t make sense to me, so I had a harder time with this story.
True’s skepticism was a fun foil to Onny’s whimsy. I also liked how the story got deep enough to look at the effects of her previous relationship and show her taking initiative in her life. The relationship in this one did feel like insta-love though. I wish there had been more history between them or less immediate commitment required from her love interest. Like I said, though, I was impressed with how strong of a character arc True had in such a short story.
My favorite characters in this book were Byron, Mr. Brightside, and Mayor Grimjoy. I liked the depth Byron’s character showed, and the juxtaposition of Mr. Brightside and Mayor Grimjoy’s personalities made their relationship extra fun to read about.
The town and its atmosphere felt magical, like anything really could happen and whatever did would be beautiful. I like the idea of a town that’s really in its element during autumn and Halloween.
It could be fun to see more authors do this type of book together! It was a fresh, entertaining experience to watch the stories weave together until they all culminated in the epilogue.
The whole story felt cozy, magical, and hopeful. I can see myself curling up with this on Halloween with a blanket and a cup of hot chocolate.

This was a cute, fun, sweet set of interconnected YA Halloween romances, each story centering on one of three best friends.
Firstly, I’d like to say how much I adore this cover! It’s so lovely and I couldn’t stop staring at it while reading the book.
Secondly—this book! I was nervous because this has been an anticipated read of mine but I had no reason to be. I enjoyed all the different stories and the relationships. The authors do such a beautiful job curating these endearing and wonderful characters with seemingly real personalities and ambitions. I absolutely busted out gushing so many times! This book was so fun, witty and honest!
Any who, I AM SO HONORED I GOT THE CHANCE TO READ THIS NOVEL. It hooked me immediately and I love how much we focus on different romantic tropes. The characters were wonderful and different and I really think I enjoyed Menon’s parts the most. I really enjoyed the storylines and wow my heart melted so many times.
I think this one even topped the authors’ previous releases, and I can't wait to tell everyone to buy this when it's in stores or be annoyingly persistent about it when I’m at the library.
I adored all the characters and the atmosphere so much and I hope the authors continues putting out more books like this!
I enjoyed this one- would be a perfect read around Halloween! I really enjoyed the way the stories tied together and the characters were engaging, relatable and fun!
Thanks for the early review opportunity!
when i first saw the word halloween i was in, i love any book that involves halloween & witchy stuff.. the book is about 3 friends that use a love potion brewed by the coven, each friend is to use the potion to charm their potential lover.. the book is in a novella of the 3 friends and their individual story, Onny is about a guy she likes and there is another guy that likes her and then a potion mishap, Asher has a crush on a girl waiting to make her his, true who is recovering from a bad break up meets a guy and is wondering if he is the one for her.. it's a fun yuong adult read, it reminds me of those rom coms, to all the boys i love before, and something netflix would make a movie about for rom com witchy movie lovers. this book is for anyone who loves young adult, witchy, paranormal, rom com love type of books.
'Three Kisses, One Midnight' is beautiful, atmospheric, and full of magic. It is comprised of three novellas, told one at a time, by each of member of 'The Coven' - besties Onny, Ash, and True. The novellas are set in chronological order and easy to follow.
The events occur around a masquerade ball in a castle-like mansion on Halloween, and magic is in the air. This is the perfect book to get readers in the spirit of all things Halloween, magical, and spooky.
I love how different the three friends are and how supportive they are of each other. Onny, Ash, and True each learn something about themselves as the night unfolds and plans go awry in rather humorous ways. I also enjoy the nods to 'Hocus Pocus' and the minor fairy-tale vibes throughout.

„Three Kisses, One Midnight“ was a much better book than I expected. It's absolutely perfect for fans of witchy stuff and magic in general. It consists of three short stories and each of them is written by one of the three authors.
This Halloween, magic will reawaken in the town of Moon Ridge, and any love forged that night will last forever. At least, that’s what the founder’s fable says, and best friends Onny, Ash, and True—better known as “The Coven”—aren’t taking any chances.
After brewing a supposed love potion from a recipe passed down by Onny’s grandmother, each member of The Coven sets off to try to charm the love of their life. One falls for an unexpected suitor. Another paints himself into a corner. And the third refuses to believe in magic at all… until true love proves her wrong.
My favorite story was the first one which is about Onny and I finished reading it so fast but the two other stories weren't as interesting or as special in my opinion. The first one also has one of my favorite tropes which is rivals to lovers and it was done very well. I truly enjoyed it. If Ash and True had some better plot I would have given this book a higher rating but it is what it is. The whole book was still cute and perfect for a Halloween read. Definitely worth giving it a try!

The first story to be told is Onny's story. She's been having a crush on Alexander, her classmate. But every time, she tried to talk to him, Bryon is always there to make everything goes wrong. Bryon secretly cares for her and wants her to look at him. In order to make Alexander hers, she makes this love potion that her grandmother gave her the recipe before. But it turns out to be Bryone who drinks the love potion during that sacrilegious Halloween. So what will be Onny's true love?

Asher Lee has been having a crush on Cassidy. She's the perfect 'it' girl. Can he get her heart and have his endgame with her?
(4 stars)
True Tandon hurts a lot during her breakup with her boyfriend, Bradley. Because of him, she has sworn not to fall in love ever again, and then, she meets Orion Parker, a new cute but hot guy who helps her during the event of Halloween. Is he her endgame?
My favorite story is Onny's. Even though, all stories in this book are good. The last one is a bit of insta-love-y but I like it anyway. I like the legend in this cozy small town. It's really really sweet. I also really like Mr. Brightside and his husband, the mayor. The ending also good. I need more of their stories but the ending is great. They're going to be a new gang in Moon Ridge. I wish I can read this during Halloween but it's great to read it now! Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for this ARC!
Super sweet and fluffy with a touch of magic, this novel would be a perfect Halloween read for a teen.
