Very enlightening. Lorenz does the groundwork in conducting interviews with Gen Z and Millenial Nigerians that most of us can’t. Well awarded 5 Dots Prize, and the product is this concise but informative peak into life in a developing but rapidly growing society that is more like most of the world than we probably realize. The rush to adopt emerging technologies is more critical and likely more urgent in the parts of the world desperate not to be left behind. If you’ve read Friedman’s The World is Flat, you’re instantly struck by how similar Nigerians are to the Indians and Chinese of the 90’s and early 00’s - eager to join the global economy and skill up to take their spots alongside ‘westerners.’ The world is indeed flat, and young Nigerians are eager to speak up that they’re aware of it and ready to share in all that entails.
