OMG!!! This book was exactly what I wanted it to be! I loved it. I will make sure to check out other books by this author. When I requested this I was just intrigued by the concept of it and I loved how it turned out. This story had a great plot and if you have read this and enjoyed it, This was so much. It was such a great story. I would say give this one a try. I will continue to follow this author. Way to go to this author for not letting me down.

I highly enjoyed the narrator of the audiobook. Kept me listening.

Four Days by Eli Wilde, and Anna DeVine is the second book in the Strangers in Paradise series and its apart of a trilogy, each book is written as a standalone story so they can be read as individual books.

This small book is a dark story about a psychopath who abducts a clairvoyant. But, be warned it may be small but can be shocking and disturbing in parts which made me extremely uncomfortable in parts reading it,

However, I still had to read it to find out what happens!

Does that make me bad?

"He was weird, but he was also insanely bold. His attraction to Emily was boundless, just like his love for her. Love fuelled by psychopathic tendencies and meth head mentality. He had planned the abduction meticulously, right down to the clothes she would wear, the pornography she would watch and the rules she would obey. Emily knew something bad was about to happen, but her friends and family didn't believe her. Just like they never believed her when she told them about the dead people she saw, the ones attracted to her since she first came into this world."

It's not for the faint hearted or if you easily get upset, this was a tough read and an eye opener book!

I loved the cover and it just caught my eye!

Big Thank you to netgalley and BooksGoSocial for my copy for an honest review.

I wouldn't say this was a bad book but it certainly isn't for everyone. Especially if you're easily triggered. I am not and still wasn't sure i wanted to continue at times. The full title indicates that this story is the second in a series. I will say with confidence that I will not be reading the others. Read my full review @reetielovesreading.blogspot.com

Hmmmmm this was an interesting one. At times shocking and disturbing to the point where I was extremely uncomfortable reading it, especially as a woman; nevertheless I found that I just could not put it down. I needed to read on and see what happened.

The strong female protagonists characterisation was so engaging, she was determined, resilient, strong, I just had to know how it all turned out and what became of her.

Dealing with issues of abduction, sexual assault/rape, sadomasochism, violence and stalking there are a lot of triggering issues in the novella, but at the same time, these things happen and these things need to be talked about more openly and the way in which Wilde deals with these issues, in an almost unapologetic way is refreshing, and if anything might open a dialogue about them .

Not for the faint hearted or easily upset, this was a tough yet eye opening read.

I didn’t realise that this was part of a trilogy. I look forward to reading the rest. That being said, this book can be read separate as it is a stand alone.
To begin with, I have to state that this should come along with trigger warnings. It may be too much for some people, as it handles sensitive subjects such as physical and sexual abuse.
It starts off strong and I enjoyed the writing. However, it soon becomes weird and I often found myself becoming a bit lost. This is dark and disturbing - not for the faint hearted.

I didn't realise this book was part of a trilogy with this being part two, however, it can be read as a standalone.

This book was incredibly haunting throughout. Emily experiences a stalker that is obsessed with her but nobody realises the seriousness of her situation and then the monster abducts her and over the basis of four days abuses her.

This book has themes of rape, violence, drugs and animal mutilation. (Trigger warning).

The monster in question was a well thought out character and it really dived into his psychotic tendancies and how deeply rooted his obsession was.

I didn't want to put the book down it was wrote from Emily's perspective throughout and as a reader I could really feel her helplessness and was rooting for her to have a happy ending.

No spoilers from me but it is a book worth checking out!

The book was well written and I would definitely check out the authors in the future.

This is a second book of the trilogy. Even though I didn’t read the first one but still can understand this book pretty much because this book is stand alone.

Trigger warning:
A lot of visual of rape, physical abused, explicit violence.

This book is about the kidnapping of a married woman, named Emily. been told by the first-person. Honestly, I like how the narrator told the story in the first few chapters. It feels so real. This book represent all the kidnappings victims. They come back home, but they live as different people. Four days, I assumed this book tells a story about her 4 days before she die? Did she really dead? I don’t want to spoiled it to you. Please read. LOL. She didn’t tell how long she been missing from home but it’s a crucial journey towards her last 4 days she with the psychopath that she called “ Monster”

Emily is a special kid. She was gifted with special ability, see can vision and see called it purple because she sees purple whenever she have the episode. Some people might called it as a gift but not for Emily. People don’t believed whatever that she sees. She also often being called as a freak. This make her think that she’s alone in her world.

Emily knows what will happens to her, but she don’t know precisely when or where, so when the Monster attack her, she can’t fight back. One thing that creepy about monster is, he knows all about Emily, sometimes I think that the monster is not human, he is like the spirit that Emily can see, but like his name, Monster, he is a monster. Abuse, raped, molested, torture and everything that he do to Emily.

My emotion ups and down when reading this book. How come a person can claim that they love someone but they act differently? This is a DARK and disturbing novel that I ever read after the dark chorus. Read at your own risk.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me an ARC to review.

Ooooo to rate this one is a little tough for me as I didn’t realize this is no.2 and haven’t read book 1 before even knowing about this book.

Despite this, I’m going to rate based on how much this book kept my interest. 3.5 stars!

It was interesting to read about the ability that Emily has but I really wished more was written / used about her using it, like the scene with the Ouija board and her talking to the spirits more really added a creepy factor to the story on a more spooky level than the horrific things Monster was doing to her.

Reading him switch from being utterly evil, to trying to be nice, then crying and going back to evil was really well written and did a whole whiplash moment when reading this.

This book is certainly dark and has many moments some people will find hard to read or not comfortable with.

While the writing is exceptional and it started with the right amount of disturbing, after a bit it just became repetitive and boring for me.

I will update when review links go live. Thank you for this opportunity.

It was such a good idea but the execution just wasn't very good. It was honestly poorly written and draggy, It was incoherent and inconsistent. and there were several errors. There was no real plot, just violence and sexual assault. There was not a lot of action happening in the book and it depended too heavily on her passing out to get from one point of the story to the next. I did not enjoy the book at all. I gave two stars because I liked the premise and it has an interesting cover but that's about the only thing I liked. The writing style was reminiscent of Wattpad stories, all gore and trauma and no substance. Good attempt, if nothing else.

Humm while the story is terrifying and terrible, the way it is written is quite good, all kinds of feeling come to me while reading it… and its kind of hard to review it without giving any spoilers, but I will do my best… it was easier to read this one because Emily was a grownup from the beginning, but being one doesn’t mean that’s the way she sees herself, Evan we got to know from a child to an adult and that made it harder to read… but back to the review…

“Monster” stalks her, from the beginning we feel that she will only end in one way, this monster treats her like garbage, and this while saying that he loves her…. So many women on this word are tethered to relationships like this… but she didn’t choose this, she was kidnaped, abused, violated, abandoned… she needed the “purple”, but she couldn’t, better, she didn’t want to bring her comfort to a place where she felt so “dead”, I loved the little details that brought this book closer to the first one … yes, this is a book that will stay with me for a long time…

Yes, it’s a book that deals with abuse, violence, animal violence, its not soft in any way, but it opens a door in a very taboo world, this book will touch you, deeply, of that I am sure, I highly recommend this book, also read this one after reading cruel, I think it will make more sense…

I thank NetGalley and BooksGoSocial, for this ARC and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
