It Never Occurred to Her by Michelle Jester is a hard book to read. This book deals with serious topics like kidnapping and human trafficking. It is painful to read because the author brings these traumatic events to life vividly. But this book is also full of hope. It is such an important novel. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

This may be a difficult book for some people to read. It deals with abduction and human trafficking and the things that go along with that. That being said, it was a book that certainly shows how God can use broken things for His good. My favorite thing about the book was the parts of it that dealt with Lena when she was homeless. It offered a much different portrayal of the homeless community than what the typical stereotypes are. I love books that offer new perspectives like that.

I couldn't put "It Never Occurred to Her" by Michelle Jester down! This was the first novel I've read by this author but it won't be my last. The subject matter is very heartbreaking, but the author wrote in a way that was touching but not graphic. I almost didn't want to read this because of how heart wrenching everything that the main character went through, but I found myself not able to put this book down! This book had me in tears in parts of it. It felt so real! It really made me more aware of what actually can happen out in the real world! I highly recommend this book but be forewarned of the subject matter.

I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.

Disappointing - found the first chapters so bad I could not finish the book. Not worth my time. I cannot recommend this book.

For the past two years Gabriel has followed every lead, no matter how small, in the hope of finding his wife who has been kidnapped . He and the police always seem to be one step behind, until investigators give him information that helps him launch the plan to find her.

After Lena looks up into the eyes of her husband who she hasn’t seen in two years, she is humiliated and wants nothing more than to run before he recognizes her. And so she does. It’s only when she faces a desperate situation that she is forced to return and ask for his help.

As fate twists its way through both of their lives, they realize it doesn't matter how much they have prepared to face the realities of losing someone, or finding them again, redemption is in letting go of the past and finding a future just off the beaten path.

I give It Never Occurred to Her five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!
