Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC audiobook - I enjoy Cole Baxter, but this one fell flat for me. Not sure if it was the narration or story itself, but it wasn’t my favorite.

A brilliant read that had me engrossed right from the very start. This is a complete page turner that i couldn’t put down.

This was a good story, but I’m really over whiny women. It didn’t take long to figure out The Who/what…but the how/why was very interesting. The narration was great.

Finding The Other Woman
By Cole Baxter

I want to express my gratitude to NetGalley and Dreamscape Audio for the advanced audio of this story. Thank you!

Amelia is a victim of amnesia after a severe car wreck which took her father’s life. A part of her is grateful for that accident as her father was a mean vile creature who abused her and Amelia’s sister when they were children.

Amelia is married to Carl, who, let’s be honest, is a liar. In his sleep he talks about Emily but he will not tell Amelia what is going on, who Emily is and denies ever having an affair. As Amelia sets out to find out who Emily is, she embarks on piece’s of the 4 years after the accident that she has no recollection of.
Who is Emily? What happened in those 4 years? What could have happened that caused the terrible accident that took those 4 years of her life?

In all honesty, this story was pretty predictable. The story left nothing to the imagination but for some reason I finished the book. I guess I wanted to make sure I got it right, I did.

This book was SO FUN. While a few things were somewhat easy to guess, listening to it unfold was still good. I’d definitely recommend this!

This was a bit too graphic for my taste. Childhood sexual abuse is a tough topic - it’s even tougher when it is described in detail. I found the main character to be annoying and weak and I couldn’t stand her scum bag husband Carl. The twist in the book was easily seen. However, at the twist the story became a much better read for me. The ending was a disappointment for me.

Many thanks to NetGalley & the publisher for this advance copy - I was given this copy in exchange for my honest review.

DNF. I knew immediately that I wasn't going to like this book. I tried. The author should not be writing from a woman's perspective, everything felt so off about it. Also, there should be trigger warnings!!!

This is a hard one to review without giving away any spoilers, but the general premise is that a woman has lost 4 years of memories and is trying to figure out what happened in those 4 years and what triggered her memory loss. This has some really heart wrenching moments in it but overall was very thrilling and really makes you want to figure out what happened. Overall, I really enjoyed this because it kept my attention throughout and had a good ending. I did find the main character a bit chaotic and frantically all over the place (for good reason given her mental illness, but hard to watch as a reader). I'm looking forward to my next one from Cole Baxter. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

so this book was interesting.....
started out kinda strange and awkward
then as it goes on and on you get hooked and you want to know more
and it all starts to make sense and the mystery is figured out.
this book had soooo many twists and turns
such a good book, amazing ending...

Warning: it did have some things sexual/minors/abuse that might trigger some
or just piss you off hearing it

First off, I would like to start off with an important trigger: child molestation. It is a huge theme of the storyline and makes up a large chunk of the plot.

This was my Second Book by Cole Baxter and the first book I read by him was good, but felt wordy and I felt like it could have been much shorter

But this one! It was a wild ride, I feel like I had an idea of what was happening, but it wasn’t obvious until it was revealed, and I liked that. I will admit I totally did not see the ending coming, and it was much more intense than I would have originally realized. I do really like this author and have two more of his novels on my netgalley shelf. I would recommend this book!

This was a wild ride! I sort of saw partly how things were going to end up but not so much that it took the enjoyment away from reading this book! I really like this author and will definitely be reading more books by him. I will say I hated the husband, but you were supposed to, so well done on the author. I wonder if anything like this book has actually happened to someone for so long?

While others found the main character of this story very whiny and pitiful, I feel like that was the intention of the author. The characteristics of the MC are on point to the resolution of the story and I definitely enjoyed listening to this audiobook. The solving of the mystery was pretty obvious but the author did throw good little twists in there to make the ending a little more saucy than expected.

Overall, some parts were highly pointing out that the MC was a victim but that was definitely vital to the entire story. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

Thanks to NetGalley for the arc!

Amelia cannot remember the past four years of her life. She has no idea what she did during those four years, and no one, not even her husband will tell her anything about that time. In what started as a quest to find the woman her husband was cheating with; Amelia finds out so much more than she bargained for.
This audiobook was narrated beautifully; inflection where there needed to be, keeping the listeners attention. The overall premise of the book was intriguing, but the execution fell flat. With lots of crude language, I did not enjoy the book itself.
I want to thank Netgalley, and Dreamscape Media for an advanced listening copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Finding The Other Woman by Cole Baxter left me with a feeling of confusion about how I really felt about the book. This book had parts that made me do a double take – jaw dropping twists! However, that’s kind of where it ended for me when it came to what I liked about the book. It was predictable – as I figured out the ending by Chapter 9. The thing that bothered me the most was the use of tacky language. This book falls into the mystery/thriller genre. But the language that was used – you would find in erotica. I feel it was poorly used, it was tacky, and all I could think was – a man wrote this book. There’s a way to write sex scenes in this genre – and this was not it. Mind you… the tackiness starts from the very beginning of the book so at first it was hard for me to get through. But then it eased a bit, and it became a bit more enjoyable. Would I recommend this book to people? No. Would I tell them to stay away from it at all costs? No. There’s a story in there. Some of the jaw dropping moments is worth giving it a try. I give this book 3 stars.

A troubled childhood filled with an physically, emotionally and sexually abusive father, a complicit mother. Her behavior is as bad as the husbands, but in different ways. They’re both heinous monsters. It is no wonder she marries the man she does and does what she does. No spoilers from me, but it’s a creepy long twisted emotional road to Amelia finally discovering the truth. I was along for the ride until the ending. There was no point in which I liked or trusted the lying, manipulative creepy husband and found the wrap up disappointing. I wanted more and better for Amelia. After all she’d been through it would have been a better ending for me. Good narration of the audiobook.

I wish I had a lot of nice things to say but sadly I don’t. I almost didn’t go past chapter 4 as I found it to be a bit too graphic for my taste. Childhood sexual abuse is a tough topic - it’s even tougher when it is described in detail. I found the main character to be too docile and weak and I couldn’t stand her husband Carl. The twist in the book was easily seen. However, it was at the twist that the story became a much better read. The ending was a huge disappointment. This is not a book that I would recommend.

3.5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this book early! This is a pretty simple, straightforward womens fiction thriller. We follow a woman named Amelia who was in a car crash with her sexually abusive father. He died and now 4 years later, she has no memory of the accident or anything thereafter. She lives with her husband, Carl, who seems super sketchy. He has money and she doesn't know where its coming from, he's all of a sudden sex obsessed, and he's calling out another woman's name in his sleep. She's got a complicated relationship with her mom because she never stood up for her in the years that her dad was sexually abusing her, but she also feels she has nowhere else to turn at times. Most of this book is Amelia's quest to figure out what happened in the 4 years that are missing from her memory. The plot is really simple and predictable, but for me thats not a huge deal breaker if the ride is still fun. In this one it was for the most part, but Amelia got really annoying. She is VERY passive and does a lot to make herself a doormat to others, especially Carl. She also has never told him about her past abuse and thats a HUGE thing to leave out of a marriage, especially when the trauma is so impactful in her life. Her lack of communication and her meekness got really frustrating. Furthermore, Carl is scum. He won't even give her the common courtesy of telling her ANYTHING about the 4 years that are missing, thus forcing her to go into this investigative mode. Her mom is DISGUSTING and deserves worse than what she got. This book really doesn't have a likable character. Again, not a huge deal breaker for me, but a little annoying. Overall this was an entertaining read, but not one I'm going to remember very long.

Narrator was great. The premises of the story was very intriguing. By about halfway through, I had figured out what was going to happen and the twist. A bit predictable, but enjoyable.

I don't think this one was for me. I didn't enjoy very much of this book at all. The twists were easy to see coming. The plot is very much based on a woman continuously being sexually abused. There is just a lot I did not like about this one.

This was awful! It was so obvious at the beginning what was going on, and it just felt like I was being dragged through a bunch of garbage to get there. This is the third and final book that I have read by Cole Baxter. I haven’t liked any of them, and have come to the conclusion that I only like the covers.

The main character couldn’t have been more stupid, and having to spend so much time going back-and-forth between her cleaning the house and denying sex was excruciating.
