This book was so sweet and I loved how relatable it was to me.
I have already recommended this to others and look forward to reading more from this author.

I tried finishing this book but it simply could not hold my interest. It was just overall sad and I struggled to continu reading it. I rarely not finish a book but this one was not for me. Maybe I'll finish it one day when I have a lot of time and nothing on my TBR list, but that day is not now.
When I read the summary of this novel, it sounded interesting. Sadly, it did not live up to my expectations. It wasn't written in chronological order and it wasn't cohesive in the ways in which the past came up. The best way to describe it is that it was all over the place.
The main character, Lucca, was suffering from severe depression and the entire book was focused on this. It didn't focus so much on her trying to get better, but on how she felt all of the time. The characters in the book were not interesting and they all had extreme issues that they were dealing with. I'm also not really sure where the title of the book comes from as it doesn't seem to fit the story at all.
I appreciate the ARC I received from #NetGalley.
Do not read this book when you are sad.
CATCH AND RELEASE, to be clear, is a phenomenal, heartbreaking story that deserves every read. But it is a sad tale (with a sort-of hopeful ending). Read this book. But take care of yourself, too. If you need to put it down, make it a point to pick it back up when you're feeling OK again.
It's a story about a girl who has been through hell. It's not her fault, but she doesn't know that. She's gong to have to look deep inside herself to realize she deserves love, even if it has hurt her in the past. It's an extremely important commentary on mental health, seeking help, relationships, and the power of agreeing to work on yourself -- because you deserve it.
This story is about Lucca, a twenty one year old dealing with childhood and adolescence trauma. Lucca struggles with her sexuality and cannot move on from past events. We see her grow throughout the story, and work on her mental health challenged. Based on the description of the book, I was worried about the student teacher relationship. While reading tho, I found myself trying to figure out what happens next. I was so glad how the story turned out. Lucca shows in the story that depression and other mental health issues wont be “fixed over night” and how to value her self worth.
*I received this book for free through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*
My main issue with this book is that it tells instead of showing. The sentences are very curt and boring when the reader doesn't have a connection to the main character. None of the characters have a personality. A lot of the book talks about topics that amount to nothing by the end of the book. Lucca is in despair the entire book. All-in-all, this just isn't my kind of book.
This book was really well written. It went into quite a bit of detail about the main character's mental illness. This is definitely not a light read. It takes a long time to get the gist of it and finish it. I was not expecting this at all. Writing was excellent. I just would have alluded to the fact that there was a lot of serious subject matter. The summary ought to almost have a trigger warning. Maybe it's just because I have mental illness.
