This story took me a while, it was really cute but it's insta love and I just am not there for that.. I did like the story that followed, I looked up Carmel-by-the-Sea because I didn't know at first that it was an actual real life place, but it's so cute?? The houses look amazing, and to have seen that (just on pictures unfortunately) made me get into the story way more. I do have to admit that it feels like every other romcom out there, because it is predictable, but after reading so many fantasies, a girl could use some predictability
The Meeting Point was really cute and fluffy, but it was a bit too predictable for me. I felt like it could have become more unique with changing just a few plot points.
The perfect fluffy read that had me grinning like an idiot. It's not often I get butterflies from books but The Meeting Point did it! A brilliant, captivating read. Such a beautiful love story and a palpable connection between Maya and Ethan. Just wow!!
THis book was so heartwarming. It just took me to a happy place. It felt like getting a hug from my favorite person. These characters were so sweet, their relationship was so sweet. It just made me incredibly happy reading this.
This book was basically your typical HEA romance. It was very sweet and romantic, The storyline grabbed me right away, and i knew i had to read it. This book was light, and quick read I would recommend
I really enjoyed reading this story. Very cute story, with likable characters and a charming story line. Heroine is very realistic and felt like I could understand her point of view.
A bit reminiscent of You've got Mail - but perfect as a rom-com story!
Olivia Lara's ability to transport her readers into The Meeting Point is unbelievable. To clearly imagine and to be absolutely teleported into the story made this read enjoyable and fun! While Lara hooks her readers with a situation that some can relate to, the betrayal fades into a situation that Maya could have never seen coming.
The idea of this book got me so hooked from the very beginning! I was very excited and even though there were elements that I didn’t expect, there was also some predictability that I personally liked. The characters were funny and i had a pretty good time with this one!
Very cute story! The awkward moment of realising that your boyfriend is cheating on you and then having to face that head on with the person who gave it away in the first place is never going to be fun.
The downside to this for me was that the book was predictable. Pretty early into it I guessed how it was going to turn out. However, that did not stop me from reading on. The book made me smile, it was cheesy and cute and everything really that you want in a light hearted romance.
I would love to have had some more time in the book on Maya and Max but I would recommend if you want an easy going, boy meets girl kind of book.
this book was basically your typical HEA romance that is sweet and romantic, The premise grabbed me right away, so i knew i had to read it. This book was light, fluffy with just a sprinkle of angst, though not the enemies to lovers i was hoping. overall, a good read.
The Meeting Point has an interesting premise. What if you go on a surprise trip to see your boyfriend, only to find out that he's been cheating on you the whole time, and you learn all about it from the Lift driver who finds his phone left behind in his vehicle?
If that interests you, I recommend reading this series. After all, that premise got me. Once I made it past 15% of the book, I couldn't put it down. I had to read until the end.
This is a feel-good romantic story. Simple, with enough struggles but nothing too over-the-top or complicated, and it leaves you smiling in the end, as most romance books tend to do. Sometimes this is just the kind of book we need. Or most of the time, even. We all need happy stories in our lives.
Maya is not my favorite character by any means, but she's plucky enough to get me supporting her, and wanting her to have that happy ending.
I give this 4 stars.
Thank you for the e-arc, Netgalley, and Independent Publishers Group!
Although I’m not normally a I’ve fan of insta-love (unless it’s well written and believable) I did enjoy this and found the whole thing to be a cute, fun read. Really loved the premise, I thought it was pretty original. The twist was predictable, but it didn’t ruin the story for me, I still enjoyed it,
Rating: 3.5 stars
Is it rather unbelievable? Yes. Did I devour it like too much popcorn anyway? Also yes. A little cliche, a little predictable, but a whole lot of fun! I quite enjoyed this rom-com (even though poor Maya wasn't enjoying it much in the beginning!!). A wonderful book for when you just need a bit of fun fluff and to turn your brain off and recharge for a bit.
As much as I usually dislike when the MCs don't meet right away, I actually like how this book began. I enjoyed how Maya and the Lyft driver connected and how he helped her explore a city to brighten her day. The twists and turns were good but slightly predictable. Overall it was a solid read that was heartfelt and sappy (in a good way I swear!).
Cute story and characters even if it is a bit cliche and predictable. The writing was a bit to exposition filled for my taste and made it a bit hard to heard without rolling my eyes. It was also a bit too easy to see the first couple chapters being very self insert ish. I guess if those are things that don't bother you and a fun easy romance is something you are looking for , this book is probably worth a read.
A cute, basic read.
I really liked this book! It's not my favorite I've ever read, but the first half was cute.
I think that if the book stayed cute, I would have felt differently about it. However, after Maya starts to try to track down the Lift driver she had been texting. It was uncomfortable at times, which is only unfortunate because I loved the beginning so much.
That being said, I still loved it and recommend it. It has all the small-town feels.

Oh my heart! This book!! This book was amazing and utterly unputdownable. I was completely smitten with Maya and Max after they’re amazing texting adventure! For an author to be able to do that without the characters even meeting in person was so impressive. I was so invested in their budding relationship.
Even though things don’t go quite as planned, we pick up with Maya a year after her serendipitous non-meeting with Max. I couldn’t help but root for her to throw all caution to the wind and follow through on her need to find out who Max really is, and I loved the whole premise that someone else was writing her story. As Maya spends time trying to uncover the truth of Max’s identity in Carmel-by-the-Sea, it becomes glaringly obvious to the reader who he is. It was so swoony and achingly beautiful to see how things unfolded. Maya slooooowly puts all the pieces together and I was in tears by the end because…FINALLY!!
Other highlights of this story for me were the friendships, both old and new. I love how Alisa constantly supported Maya and cheered her on even from a different time zone. Celine was such a delight and even though she and Maya were insta-besties it felt like such a natural, easy friendship. I loved Maya’s storytelling and match-making ways. She was always rooting for everyone to find their HEA and it just made you want to find hers all the more. Also, the lush setting of Carmel-by-the-Sea seemed otherworldly and now I hope to visit someday! I can’t say enough good things about this book. It’s definitely one of my top reads of 2022.
Thank you to Head of Zeus and NetGalley for an advanced copy. My thoughts are my own.
This book had a really interesting premise! Overall, I liked it but it was a bit hard to get into sometimes and did not always hold my attention as much as I would have liked.
Thank you to NetGalley and Aria & Aries for the eARC of this book.
This book had a mixture of good and bad. I definitely liked it, but there are some things that prevent me from wanting to read it again. The premise was very appealing, and it was well executed for the most part. But, there were moments when it felt very lacking.
I liked most of the characters, they were well developed and I liked how they interacted with each other. The shining star was Celine. I didn't really like Maya in the second half of the book, when she returned to California to find "Max".
I loved the setting. It was easy to picture and seemed beautiful. But, it often felt over-described. I love description, but it was too much sometimes.
The story in the first half was great... but in the second half, it went downhill. The first half was cute and fluffy but the second half bordered on stalkerish. Maya was great in the first half, but in the second half, she just made me uncomfortable.
Overall, it was a good enough book, but I personally wouldn't read it again. Do I regret reading it in the first place? No. But I really wouldn't read it again, once was enough. I'm not sure I would recommend it, but you will never know if you like it, if you don't read it yourself.

Thank you to NetGalley and Head of Zeus for providing a digital advanced readers copy of the book for me to read for my honest opinion.
Synopsis: Maya Maas is turned upside down. Having planned to surprise her boyfriend, she finds herself single and stranded in an unknown city on her birthday. So when the mystery driver rescues Maya with the suggestion that she cheers herself up at a nearby beach town, she jumps at the chance to get things back on track. She wasn't expecting a personalised itinerary or the easy companionship that comes from opening up to a stranger via text, let alone the possibility it might grow into something more...
My Thoughts: The setting is uniquely name, actually exists, is quaint, and just perfect for the setting of this book. The characters were well developed, had depth, the MCs had chemistry, and they just fit the story perfectly. Maya is extremely likable and relatable. I had hoped the mystery man was named earlier in the story but it did add a sense of mystery to the story. The author’s writing was complex, had witty moments that you expect, a sense of mystery, intriguing, and kept me engaged throughout the story. I enjoyed this book and would recommend to others.
