In the spring of 2020, when the world went into lock down families were forced to quarantine together. They worked from home, went to school at home, and in some cases fast forwarded a new relationship at home. Others had to navigate the pandemic alone, perhaps with only the four walls around them for company. In the book The Summer Place, Jennifer Weiner takes the reader on a journey with a modern family on the other side of the pandemic. The many characters are endearing, identifiable, and in some cases confused, and regretful. It may take a magical house, who knows them so well to remind them what is truly important.
I enjoyed this book immensely!
