Witches in this story are a helpful bunch, family lives reflecting the typical (dys)function that we are used to seeing among regular people too. While taking one for the team, Clementine Waterhouse finds herself in the midst of a larger mess than just family drama that stems from a controlling grandmother and a complicated nuclear family dynamic. When witch hunter Gavin comes to town, he has a mission to capture and disempower--and release, he's not all bad--the witch(es) that pinged his senses. Clementine has a mission of diverting him from the rest of her family and neighbors. Their star-crossed romance and the fate of the witch community are in play, and how Clem--only a select few are allowed to call her by her given name--resolves it all is an adventure to be read and enjoyed!

I did not know this was the second book in the series until I was looking up info for my yearly stats lol.
Nevertheless, this book didn't feel like the second book in a series at all! I loved the main character, Clem, and the sexy witch-hunter, Gavin. The magic in this book was fun and fresh and a lot of the rituals and coven talk were very reminiscent of my own practice and life.

I had not been expecting spice in this book at all, but boy was it very well done. I would definitely read the rest of this series!

The audiobook was pleasant to listen to, although I didn't love the way Gavin was read. Overall though, this was a very fun listen, and would recommend!

This was a really cute story! a bit of humor a bit of family drama...a touch of enemies to lovers fun. The characters are sweet and endearing and that makes it all themore fun. The narrator was good and kept me happily engaged in listening :)

I enjoyed listening to Boss Witch. Although I didn’t read the previous book in the series, I do think it would be good to read it first before this book as there are definitely spoilers. However, if you don’t mind the spoilers then starting with this book didn’t feel like I was missing anything.

This is definitely an open door book. There was a lot of description provided in the steamy scenes and it was often between love interests, the witch Clementine and Gavin, the witch hunter. While I’m not a fan of so much description I believe others will appreciate it.

I did like the twist that a witch hunter and a witch begin to fall in love. This situation found the protagonists in difficult scenarios and situations that added depth to the plot and it kept me wanting to listen on to find out what happens next.

Although the overall narration was good, I do have to say I wasn’t a fan of the way Gavin’s voice was done but that’s just a personal preference.

Thank you Dreamscape media for the alc. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Boss Witch is the second installment within the Fix-It Witches series. In this, you are following the romance that eventually blossoms between Clementine and Gavin. Just like the previous book, I really enjoyed watching them grow closer to one another. They had amazing chemistry if I'm being honest. So, it's safe to assume that I just loved them unconditionally. Maybe even supernaturally.

The only downside is she's a witch and he's a witch hunter. It really hurt me when she found out the truth and then lied to him about her true feelings. Claiming everything was a ruse between them when we all know it wasn't. It just couldn't be the truth because deep down I knew how they felt. They couldn't walk away from one another that easily, could they?

Eventually other secrets come out towards the end and one of them left me in shock. This little reveal definitely helped Clem and Gavin get even closer to one another. Which made me happy because I wanted them together no matter what.

In the end, I'm so happy that I found this series and can't wait for the next book to come out. Super excited to watch Leanne and Trevor fall in love.

Boss Witch had more going for it than the first book in this series. Given the nature of a witch & witch hunter romance, there was bound to be more conflict and action happening, but I was also pleasantly surprised by a little bit of witchy world building sprinkled in.

This is a cute world and I enjoy reading about the witches and their romances. Clem is level headed and has decided that relationships aren't really for her. Then a witch hunter rolls into town and she's tasked with distracting him from finding their paranormal community. Attraction quickly sparks and Clem has to decided if she can be with someone who hunts witches or if she needs to shut down and go back to her lonely life.

I loved the representation in this. Clem is bisexual and it seems like Gavin is pansexual (though it isn't explicitly stated.) It's nice seeing more LGBTQ+ characters in romances. I also enjoyed Clem standing up to her biased grandmother and her parents who use her as a toy to fight over. I'm always excited to see strong women not taking any crap from anyone.

The romance in this is fun and I thought Gavin was a good match for Clem. We also saw Danica in her happy life with Titus, which made me happy. Looking forward to the next book!

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All opinions are my own. Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the copy

Clementine, a witch, has a plan for throwing the witch hunter, Gavin, who just arrived in town off track. She's quite a little conniving actress, but in her efforts to keep him close so she can manipulate the narrative and find out what he knows, they get a little too close and then he sticks around for the wrong reasons. This book does a great job modeling safe sex and consent as well as initiating dialog about preferences and expectations.

I read the first one in this series and enjoyed the interesting new take on magic, so I was excited to continue in this universe. This one is a paranormal star crossed lover story - a witch and the witch hunter who comes to her town searching out the witches in the area.

I didn't like this one as much as the first book, but it was still enjoyable. Some of the things I did like was the mouse and the spice level. If you're looking for a cute paranormal romance you should check out this series.

This book was so much fun! Clementine and Gavin start out as total opposites where she is a witch and he is literally a witch hunter. By default they are enemies but when they spend time together they have a lot more in common than they thought. Since I read the first book in this series, I really appreciated how this story took place pretty much at the same time so I was able to see some of the same situations from a totally different perspective. Clementine is the dependable person that always takes on more work and who fiercely protects her friends and family. I enjoyed seeing her give herself some freedom to relax and find joy. Gavin, although working as a witch hunter is also suffering a crisis of conscience when we meet him so seeing how he has the internal battle of right and wrong while falling for Clem was emotional and sometimes heart breaking.

The story was pretty face paced and made for easy reading and some laugh out loud moments that took me by surprise. Witchy romance is definitely my new favorite sub-genre of romance and I'm more than excited to read the third book in the series!!

I'm enjoying all of the witch romance books as of late. Boss Witch is Clementine's story in the Fix-It-Witches series, but could be read as a standalone. I enjoyed Gavin's arc in the story, but I felt the plot moved a little slower than in the first book of the series.

I honestly loved everything about this book. I had not read the first book in this series, but that did not seem to matter because it really worked as a standalone. This book had some great tension, spicy romance, and a very determined female main character. There was a theme of dysfunctional family relationships, which was quite relatable, and the theme of learning you can change. I really appreciate how the author uses the topic of Witches versus Hunters to demonstrate more difficult current social dilemmas. The plot was well-written, and I liked how there wasn't much physical action taken against others. The story did not warrant violence and war, so it was nice that the issues were resolved with brainpower and human connection.

I really enjoy this series! Boss Witch is the second book in the Fix-it Witches series and I look forward to the next one.

We follow Clem (who we met in the first book), she is Danika’s cousin and they are more like sisters. There is a witch hunter that arrives in town and Clem decides to get closer to him to figure out what he knows. She doesn’t expect to begin actually liking him.

There are a lot of fun elements of these books that I enjoy. There are crazy family antics and we find out more about the political side of the witches and hunters in this one as well. This book is an enjoyable rom-com with some spice. I also loved the element of the little mouse being added in and visiting the other characters around town. I can’t wait for the next I’m the series to see what they’ll get into next!

Paranormal romance, forced proximity, forbidden love

This was a good second installment in the series, Fix-It Witches! I like Clementine's character development and story better than her sisters but you definitely need to read both to understand the big picture.

I cannot wait to read book 3, I have already pre-ordered it!

Ava Lucas did a good job of narrating this novel. I enjoyed listening to the different characters speaking. Everything was still understandable at 2.0.

I was pretty sure I got a few curious looks from my husband while I was listening to this making dinner, it seems that every time he was around there were sex scenes. I love the idea of witches using their powers to fix tech gadgets for a profit.

Now to read book 1 before book 3 shows up.

Boss Witch by Ann Aguirre
Fix-it Witches series book 2. Paranormal romance. Can be read as a stand-alone but some references to the first book would make it better having read the first. The two stories run along the same time line. Dual POV.
Gavin is a witch-Hunter doing his job under duress. He’s never liked spying and he likes it even less now that he’s come to know the community and one interesting female in particular.
Their lives aren’t as easy as walking away though so it’s going to get messy.

Entertaining with more witchy-ness in this book than the first. Both Clem and Gavin have family issues over and above that just by point of his job, they should be on opposite sides. But their chemistry overrides the danger and has them each questioning the future.
Slow initial burn to plenty of steamy interludes.
Clear indications at the end on whose book is next. I can’t wait!

🎧 I subsequently listened to an audiobook copy narrated by Ava Lucas. I enjoyed the performance more for the personalities which came through clearly. The voices were distinct even at 1.5 which was my preference for regular conversation speed. An unexpected voice addition was more amusing in the audio.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.

Unfortunately I couldn't finish this book for a couple reasons

First off I didn't realize this was a sequel, that was my first mistake, because I felt like I was missing something from the start; and then certain parts made me cringe to the point I just kept turning it off; so finally I just gave up.

It's not a bad book though by any means, just not for me.

I read this before reading the first one, but I enjoyed it. It kept me intrigued and turning the pages. I am going to read her first book though and anything else she writes.

I loved the first book in the series and was excited for a second. What a great continuation. The characters were well developed and a delight

This novel is a cute little rom-com. Little did I know that it is book two of a series. Though it can be read as a stand-alone, I do think the character development would have been better had I read the first book and have some background information.
Boss Witch is about Clementine, a witch who owns a fix it witches store in small town, fixing Tech stuff. A handsome witch hunter Comes To Town to sniff out some witches. Clem is motivated to do whatever it takes to protect her coven.
Obviously that means she decided to distract him with her sexual prowess and starts dating him. I'm confident you can fill in the blanks from there. Add some sexual tension, comedy, family dynamics and a dash of magic and you've got yourself a cute rom-com.
I listened to the audio book version of this book. The narrator did a good job, however I did have some difficulty coming to terms with the male characters voice. I would rate this book 3.5/ 5.
Thank you to NetGalley for the audiobook of this title, received in exchange for an honest review.
