I loved this book. I absolutely could have listened to the author tell stories about her life all day. It was a quick read, but definitely an entertaining one.

Comforting and funny this book really did it for me and had me chuckling under the covers trying not to wake the rest of the family up! I admit that I could not relate to every story but then didn’t expect to - impossible really, but thoroughly enjoyed every second of the reading experience.

It's vulnerable and raw and honest and it is exactly what we all need right now to remind us to laugh at ourselves.

I was excited to read this and ended up really enjoying the author and her voice. Not every story resonated with me, but many did! They had me laughing and nodding along in agreement with the authors experiences. It definitely resonated deeply at times as a female reader. I love the title so much and thought a few of the stories truly captured the feelings it evokes. I"ll admit nonfiction is not my go to, so I really had high hopes going into this and it mostly met them!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

Unfortunately, it was a DNF for me. The stories failed to make me laugh and also failed to be relatable in most cases...

By the time I’d finished reading the prologue, I was hooked. I found a comforting sense of connection to the author and her words had me nodding in relatability. The voice was powerful and permeating, shining a light on trauma and shared experiences, making it relatable as well as an entertaining read.

Although the essays sometimes dealt with serious experiences, it was also funny. I loved the author’s view that shedding light on trauma and the things that hurt us can also point us in the right direction to what could allow us to heal. The author reflected and mused about the various subjects she was writing about with grace and intelligence. I picked up some valuable insights whilst reading.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and author, for a chance to read and review this book.

This book definitely keeps your attention. The stories are really fun, funny, well-written, and interesting. The "life advice" the author tries to tie to the stories does not flow or fit well with the stories. She tries to tie a philosophical idea to each story, and they do not line up. Both the story and the philosophy ideas are great on their own, but tying them together did not work as they do not pair properly. But it's definitely worth a read.

This book does bring laughs, I find myself getting curious as to what will happen next, ]t takes guts to publish a book like this, and to talk about yourself in a comical perspective.

I found myself wanting to share this book as I was reading it with close friends, but also not wanting to share so that they could enjoy it for themselves firsthand.
Kristin has really great ability to weave life experience with humor that makes the reader laugh out loud and look around to see if anyone notices their laughing. Each chapter reveals a memory that often involves family and the unique dynamic that it plays on how we develop as people and the life lesson as a result. Her ability to story tell doesn’t feel like reading a book at all. It is reminiscent of meeting a old friend and laughing about childhood memories together. I immediately looked up other books written by this author because I really enjoyed this book.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to enjoy this one!

I have never laughed so hard and learnt so much but this book changed that because i loved reading all the stories on trauma, dealing with narcissists- which I'll definitely be try, living freely and loving people for who they are.
Another Hysterical Female is as the tagline funny stories to fix us and i don't doubt one bit.
This book deserves all the stars in the world but we'll start with five first.

A laugh out loud book of stories about Giese's life that tie into lessons all readers can benefit from. She is a fantastic storyteller that will make you want to buy-in to everything she shares. Giese's writing style is easy to read and fun from start to finish. The messages she leaves readers with will have them analyzing their own lives to see how they can grow and accept themselves for the incredible person they are.

funny, insightful and punchy, kristin giese's memoir 'another hysterical female' is exactly what i needed to read right now. coming out of a (painfully) long semester at university, this book provided me with not only a short and sweet narrative style, but a compactly hilarious one too. giese's writing kept me hooked, and i found myself wanting to know even more than her short stories would let on. as autobiographical reflections of her life, the short stories feel not only funny, but innately human. giese manages to strike the perfect balance between funny, memorable and moving, all when you'd least expect it.

"but what if we stopped believing our brokenness needs to be protected and instead started believing it needs to be trusted?"

If you love the song "The Man" by Taylor Swift, read this book because it is the literal manifestation of that song. Feminist literature is what I always turn to when I want something empowering, and this was an amazing story for sure.

I didn't connect with the writing, the anecdotes were too short to make an impact and most oof the situations were just too anticlimactic to be funny
