An interesting premise of a newly divorced single mom moving to the city into an apartment whose prior resident when missing.
Some parts of the book felt overly explained and drawn out. Kept me reading though and I didn’t guess the ending,

A great thriller - I would recommend it!
The book starts off tense and is creepy. It is a slow burn. There is a lot going on in the book. The ending felt very rushed and unbelievable.
The Girl before me was full of suspense that kept me wanting to keep reading, with a twist that I didn't see coming.
This was a solid and interesting thriller set in Chicago. I was not expecting the twist and overall it kept me captivated!
The Girl Before Me by Laura Wolfe is a psychological thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end. With complex characters and a gripping plot, this book will leave you on the edge of your seat. Definitely a must-read for fans of the thriller genre! #bookreview #psychologicalthriller #mustread #thegirlbeforeme #laurawolfe
Creepy neighbours....weird letters....strange things happening. All they wanted was to feel safe in their new home but they may be in more danger than ever. Gripping.....tense....a thrilling read
Such a gripping read and I was hooked from the first few pages. Lots of tension and twists to keep you guessing and the ending is clever. I didn't expect it. Looking forward to reading more from the author in the future!
A quick and easy read, but in the end just didn't do it for. I figured out how it was going to end pretty quickly, which left nothing to keep me interested, but I did manage to finish it.
Okay. I completely DNF’d this. I tried but this is not doing anything for me. Sorry!
Thanks to Netgalley! Hoping for a better read next time!
A really easy read. New author found too which always cheers me up. Recovering from surgery was helped by this.
4 stars! The Girl Before Me was a great read. Highly recommend!
I received an ARC from Laura Wolfe, Bookouture, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
Thanks to #netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. This book was a captivating read from the start, I was caught up in the creepy, ominous feelings from the building and the occupants of the other apartments. The tension the main character was reading was palpable and I couldn't help feeling unsettled in the best of ways whilst reading this book.
I loved the sweet moments between Rachel and Lily and of course I was here for the disturbing/ unnerving moments too. A twisty, atmospheric thriller that I couldn't put down. #laurawolfe #thegirlbeforeme #netgalley #goodreads #litsy #thestorygraph #thriller #tea_sipping_bookworm #bookqueen #bookstagram
Unfortunately, I have been locked out of my netgalley account for a few months and was not able to see which books I had on my list, in order to properly read and review. I do apologize and am doing a 3 for neutral. Will update once I’m able to obtain a copy and read!
Really good thriller. Kept my interest all the way through. I dId not see the twist at the ending coming and I usually can figure it out beforehand. I would highly recommend this book.
This book started off really well and you have to keep on your toes as there is so much going on. It did end a bit abruptly. I really enjoyed the second half of the story. It involves one of my favourite tropes missing people.
A fresh start...
Rachel and her daughter, Lily, have just moved into a new apartment. This is a fresh start, an escape from Rachel's ex. While retrieving her mail, Rachel discovers a letter sent to Annie (the former resident of the apartment Rachel is currently in) who abruptly left and hasn't been heard from since.
Curiosity gets the better of Rachel and she opens the letter, which is a plead to Annie to leave as she is not safe.
As time passes, Rachel feels as if she is being watched. She begins to question what really happened to Annie; why did she leave so quickly, and where is she?
I was disappointed with the abrupt ending, you literally turn the page and it was done. It fell a bit flat for me in that regard.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Bookouture for the advance copy.
I love mystery/thrillers because I love the adrenaline rush and I think this was even more effective because you always want to feel like you're safe in your own home but that's not always the case! Very much enjoyed this book!
