While I initially expected another hair-raising thriller after reading Noelle's book Run on Red , what I found was a uniquely captivating tale told from a spectral perspective that left me both exhilarated and enchanted.

Imagine, if you will, three feisty female ghosts: spirited souls who, despite their tragic fates at the hands of the infuriatingly handsome (and sinfully charming) James “Jimmy” Carson—who might just as well be the lovechild of Chris Hemsworth and a picturesque dream—haunt the very world they once inhabited. Their voices weave together a narrative that is equal parts gripping and entertaining as they navigate the afterlife while trying to lay their murderous pasts to rest.

What emerges is a thrilling ghost story—one where paranormal abilities don’t just serve as gimmicks, but as tools for justice. As the trio crunches down on cold cases and attempts to guide the detectives to their hidden resting places, I found myself on the edge of my seat, cheering them on. Their journey to provide closure for their grieving families adds a poignant layer that tugged at my heartstrings.

Having ventured into this captivating world, I find myself craving more from Noelle W. Ihli. *Ask for Andrea* isn’t just a tale about ghosts; it’s a powerful commentary on tragedy, love lost, and the unquenchable thirst for justice. Buckle up, dear readers—you’re in for a hauntingly good time!

What I LOVED about this one: The plot was really quite unique. Which, admittedly, is what drew me to this book in the first place. The protagonists of this story were surprising--I've never read a book with dead main characters before. The story was told from their differing perspectives which kept everything fresh.

I'm really sorry it just took me so long to read this delightful little story. This was a compelling thriller that took me just a couple of days to devour.

Thank you Dynamite books & Noelle W Ihli for this amazing read.

I am kicking myself I didn't read this sooner. This book was such a sad thriller. It was devastating but at the same time hopeful and a very satisfying ending

I felt this book was slower than Noelles other books however the emotional journey packs a punch. There is no dull moment and you are really taken on a journey through grief and justice.

This book shows what a talent Noelle has. To be able to keep us enthralled from the first page to the last while pulling emotions out of us and somehow making it a thriller too.

Great read!

Stars: 4 out of 5

This packs a surprising emotional punch for a ghost story and serial killer story. I hadn't expected to get this emotionally attached to the characters, but the author did an excellent job making them unique, human, and lovable. Which makes this story even more tragic because all three main characters are ghosts haunting the man that killed them.

The first three chapters in the book describe how each of the three women was killed, and it's visceral and horrible. I could really feel their fear and pain, and then confusion and hurt when the realization came that they were dead, but still stuck here. And it goes to showcase how different these women are because they choose to do different things when they realize that they are dead.

Brecia immediately tries to follow her killer, to do something about it, to try to reach out into the world of the living and exact her revenge. Meghan is paralyzed by fear and spends months by her corpse, watching it decay and praying that she will be found. And Skye goes home and tries to let her mother know that she is still here.

And despite the fact that these three women area already dead, the tension in this book only keeps growing with each page, as they watch, helpless, as their killer prepares to kill again. I was especially heartbroken for Brecia, because she had to watch him kill Meghan, and realize that no matter what she tried to do, she couldn't save her. She also had to live with the killer and discover that there are three more innocent lives that could be in danger - his wife and two daughters. In fact, the last part of the book, when the women follow them into the forest, had me at the edge of my seat and biting my nails.

This is definitely a very good book, and I recommend it.

This book was amazing! I love that it’s told from the perspective of a ghost! The setting is so eerie and creepy which is something I really look for when reading a good spooky book. The chapters are super short which I love and the book was incredibly fun and fast to read.

First of all, thanks to NetGalley for the free eARC!

So, there’s nothing truly like, knock your socks off amazing about this book, but overall it’s a really enjoyable ride. It’s a totally different take on the thriller genre, and the unique premise made it stand out. It follows three ghosts as they— not seek revenge, but seek to stop future murders or help their own be solved. It handles ghosts in a different way than most novels and evokes a wave of nostalgia in me for Christopher Pike’s Remember Me (except no diabetes plot here!). It has a satisfying ending and character development.

The two quibbles I had are that it’s hard at times to remember which woman is in which situation, and some of the law enforcement stuff doesn’t work well.

Not all predators look like the evil that they are. Some are handsome and charming. Such is the case with James Carson. He appears to be so much more than he really is while at the same time being more than you would expect. With the use of a dating app, he truly becomes ‘the worst nightmare’ for several women, including Brecia, Meghan and Skye. These three may be dead, but they are not helpless. This is a unique spin on a serial killer story mixed with somewhat of the paranormal. It is an intriguing read that is hard to put down. Thank you to the author, NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this book.

I'm not usually into paranormal stuff, but the synopsis appealed to me and I thought this could be a great ghost story.

I wasn't disappointed ! I've been hooked from the first to the last chapter. Meghan, Brecia and Skye are strong female characters. Even if they're dead, they keep on fighting to bring their killer to justice. I really loved the alternating first-person narratives.

"Ask For Andrea" reminds me of Ghost, in which Patrick Swayze is confronted to the same fate as the girls, staying around a little longer after death for some "unfinished business". I really loved that movie (honestly, who didn't ?) and this book totally deserves the 5 stars I'm giving it !

5 Stars ~
It's not often that I find a book that I just want to keep reading and not put it down. But 'Ask for Andrea' was exactly that, it was just my cup of tea.
With an alternate take on a haunting story, 'Ask for Andrea' follows 3 women, Brecia, Meghan and Skye as they are murdered by the same man, and turn into spirits/ghosts. It follows each of their stories as they find their way, and find each other and embark on a journey to get this man caught.

I found myself laughing, rooting for these 3 girls, and just wanting to yell along with them as they tried to get anyone around them to hear their screams, in order to save these other women.

A beautiful ending and just an all-around fun read. And thank you NetGalley for this ARC, in return for an honest review.

Ask for Andrea

I am reviewing a copy of Ask for Andrea through Dynamite Books and Netgalley:

James Carson got away with murder three times…

The only thing that may stop him from murdering again is the three women he has killed.

He had hunted them online, acting as if he was a bachelor. He would play the perfect gentleman using a thick layer of charm, and a thousand watt smile, hiding a harsh reality, his first dates end up in shallow graves.

But James doesn’t know his three victims have found each other. And that they're coming for him.

I give Ask for Andrea four out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

Brecia, Meghan, and Skye might be dead, but they’re not gone. And they won’t rest until they find a way to keep him from killing again.
The haunt is on.

This was a great book!

The premise was unique and provided a different take on this thrilled novel. The characters were interesting and well developed and provided with POVs that brought the horrifying truths behind the killers actions to life.

I cannot wait to read more from this author!

Thank you @Netgalley and @DynamiteBooks

As this was touted aa a horror book, I looked forward to reading it. And although it was a decent read, it was no horror book.

I was disappointed in the naivety of the main characters (at least Meghan & Skye). Both young girls thought little of climbing into a car with a stranger because he was handsome and charming. I'm not saying they deserved to die, but at all, but they might not have died if they had used their brains a little.

Overall, the book was pretty good, if a little depressing. The interaction between the victims was sweet but underdeveloped.

Thanks to Netgalley, Noelle Ihli and Dynamite Books for the opportunity to read this ARC.

All opinions are my own.

Ask for Andrea is about three women who have all gone on a date with the same man and have ended up becoming his next victim. He plays the part of the perfect gentleman but that doesn't last long. They all have one thing in common. They want to save the next one. They have their separate journeys, but eventually come together to try to take him down.

I haven't had a book keep me interested and excited in a while, but this one did it! it was such an impulsive read. I couldn't wait to see what happened next! I really liked the multiple POVs and following each person's narrative.

I'd recommend picking this up if you want an exciting, quick read.
