This book was very fantastical, with passages very reminiscent of the Giving Tree. The book tracked a young girl growing up with her favorite green umbrella, until she is too old to play with it. It gets passed to her son, who embarks on his own adventures with the umbrella. It was a heart-warming story, with light, not too bright, illustrations.
I'm also loving the font, very fairy-tale vibes.

A very cute story about the magic of childhood and nostalgia in adulthood. It’s one of those books where the reader and the child would enjoy it. The art is also beautiful.

This book is such a sweet and endearing tale that reminds me a bit of The Giving Tree, one of my favorite books as a child.

The illustrations are whimsy and wonderful and they’ll keep children captivated. I love how the story promotes imagination and adventure.

This is a book that can be enjoyed by all ages from young to old as it reminds all to remember the magic in the world.

In this whimsically illustrated book, a mom purchases a green umbrella for a little girl and the umbrella takes the form of whatever the girl imagines. When the girl grows up the adventures dry up and the umbrella becomes forgotten and is sad until a little boy finds the umbrella. It is a story of toys that are lost and then found again and reimagined. It’s a sweet and nostalgic read that will be enjoyed by adults and children. Adults will revel in the past, remembering sweet memories of make believe while kids will be drawn to the adventures that the children dream up with the umbrella. It’s a sweet and cozy read for all.

A cute book. Realistic illustrations. Short enough txt for a preschooler to sit through. A little like the Giving Tree meets Not a Box.

This is a very sweet little story about the magic of a child's imagination and the joy our childhood items can bring us and others. This story reminded me greatly of my own childhood favorites, some of which I still have to this day. While they are worn down and aged in many ways the love and magic of them still remains. This story perfectly encompasses those kinds of connections and memories in just a few short pages.

The artwork is stunning; it looks almost like a watercolor style with lovely soft colors. Its very eye catching and the images were so fun.

It’s a sword! It’s a ship! It’s a green umbrella!

This story follows the adventures of a magical green umbrella. When owned by a little girl, the umbrella becomes a great protector to a princess in a pear tree and a ship for a captain looking for treasure. When the umbrella is found years later by a young boy, it transforms into a sword to fight back mighty armies and turns into a guardian against monsters. But overtime, the little girl and the young boy grow up leaving the green umbrella behind.

What I liked most about “My Little Green Umbrella” is that even though the little girl and young boy grow up, the umbrella remembers them and they remember it. It’s nice that this item that protected them as children continues to watch over them as adults. It’s important for kids to know that their childhood experiences will still be with them even as they grow older.

This is a great book for readers of all ages.

I really enjoyed The Green Umbrella! It tells a story of the wonderful adventures of a young girl and then a young boy share with the umbrella. The umbrella is seen as a companion for the adventures .
I loved the story and the mother son bond with the umbrella as well! The illustrations were also very descriptive. Overall, I would highly recommend this book!

To me, this is an adult’s story masquerading as a child’s tale although both generations may well enjoy it. I loved the nostalgic feel of this story of the umbrella. In some ways it brought to mind, The Velveteen Rabbit, in terms of how important objects from our pasts can be forgotten or discarded but still can have deep meaning.

The illustrations in this title are beautiful; they have an old fashioned appeal that I very much liked. I will go back to enjoy them again, I am sure.

The story is about a special umbrella and what it means to two children and their childhoods. Who are they to one another? How does this special umbrella hold up? Read this very sweet book to find out.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.
