There is a lot of facts and detail included and a great account of how David took on Goliath. Would make a good documentary series, bring out the human cost and seeing the local environment. Thank you #NetGalley for the audiobook to review.
A lot of repetition of phrases and quotes for what seems like no reason, it was really off-putting, as were the full captions of images bearing in mind this is an audiobook, a brief description would have been adequate and much smoother.
If this is to be released outside Canada too might want to explain what some of the localised words like Reeve etc mean.
To be honest it kind of felt like a calendar of events with little body to the actual story and the above made it disjointed and hard to listen to. There’s an interesting story in there somewhere, but this isn’t it.

A rural community with a high proportion of indigenous peoples takes on the Goliath of a waste disposal company in a decades-long fight.
The narrative reads as though written as a serial column in a newspaper. Much is made of the human angle, but this is overplayed, with rabbit holes of unnecessary detail. There is an element of repetition, also. This all makes for rather slow progress.
The audio version, narrated by Vivian Hisey, is well performed. However, the reading aloud of image captions pulled me out of the thread.
