Deception by Patrica Bradley is the forth and final book in the Natchez Trace Series and she ended it with a bang. I found this quote from the book description was spot on — USA Today bestselling and award-winning author Patricia Bradley closes out her popular Natchez Trace Park Rangers series with this complex story of family secrets, mixed motives, and learning to trust.

Madison Thorn herself was complex. She was adopted however her adoptive parents were not role model parents. Her mom dealt with bi-polar disorder, and her dad was just absent and selfish. Her grandfather was the special person in her life. Then she deals with having to shoot an FBI agent in self defense and no one wanting to work with her from that office. She arrives back in Natchez Trace to work a white collar crime and still cannot escape violence happening around her.

Clayton Bradshaw was an interesting character also. He had a great relationship with his sister and niece. He also had past decisions that he was overcoming and living with. I really enjoyed how the author used his past to help him learn to accept people in his sisters life.

There is so much more to this story but I dont want to ruin any of the twists and turns and surprises that the author beautifully weaves into the story.

Violence - two people are shot, and more shot at. Someone is saved from human trafficking-no details,
Sexual content - kissing only,

What an excellent conclusion to this series!
Readers get to learn more about Clayton Bradshaw, whom we met in book one. Clayton is one of those really likeable heroes in this story. He’s had a rough time and is getting over a major hurdle in his life. He’s gentle when it comes to the women in his life, but protective when he needs to be. A tough guy, with a big heart.
Madison Thorn is equally likeable. We catch a glimpse of a betrayal early on in the story which sends her into a different direction with her career. The poor woman suffers enough in this story, but each time she comes out of it – with Clayton by her side.
There’s not as much action in this story as the previous two novels, but there’s plenty of intrigue and secrets to uncover. There are a lot of suspects and lots of people with things to hide in this story, so it’s no wonder that some intense incidences weren’t related. And that all isn’t as it appears to be.
A great story. Some juicy secrets. And an intriguing summer read.
I received an ecopy from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are my own.

Deception provides a gripping suspense-filled tale paired with a sweet romance between two compelling characters.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the Natchez Trace Park Rangers series, but this may be my favorite. From the beginning, Bradley had me hooked with intrigue and mistaken identity.

Madison’s backstory is fleshed out and makes everything she does understandable. I couldn’t help but root from her as she struggles with the mistakes of her past and unraveling her family history. And Clayton went from being just another secondary character in the series to an incredible lead. I loved seeing their relationship progress. It wrapped up a little quickly at the end with too neat of a bow, but it was still a sweet romance.

Overall, Deception provides a compelling ending to a great suspenseful series. Romantic suspense fans will love this gripping tale.

Another thrilling book by Patricia Bradley. Deception is the fourth book in the Natchez Trace Park Ranger series. And just like the rest of the series I really enjoyed this book.

One of the things I love most about this book (and Patricia Bradley’s writing) is all of the twists and the turns. You are never quite sure who the bad guy is and what their motive is. Just when you think you’ve figured it out, something happens and changes your mind. I also love that there isn’t just one bad guy. There are so many characters with a range of different motives. It is fun to be pulled into the story so quickly.

I really enjoyed how this book also covered some pretty serious topics like addiction, forgiveness, adoption and human trafficking. All topics were approached with sensitivity and wisdom. I really enjoy books where there is more to consider than just the story.

If you haven’t read this series by Patricia Bradley, I definitely recommend finding a copy to read. Deception is a standalone, but I am sure you will enjoy the entire series.

Do not plan to put this down until you are finished. There are so many plot twists you almost get dizzy - a true thriller that you are unlikely to figure out. Madison Thorn, National Park Service Ranger is in Natchez to work on some white-collar crime. Somehow this somewhat benign case seems to morph into attempted murder, sniper fire and turns out to be much more of a mystery than you expect.

What a fantastic way to end the Natchez Trace Park Rangers series. The author has done an incredible job of keeping you guessing right up to the unexpected conclusion! I loved all the added extras which you will have to read the book to discover. Suffice it to say, you will question many things before they are finally resolved. Learning to forgive can be a very hard lesson.

This early copy was received through Baker Publishing Group, Revell and NetGalley. These thoughts and impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.

"Deception" was another fantastic ready by Patricia Bradley! This is part of the Natchez Park Ranger series, but this book could be a stand alone. I really enjoyed reading about Madison and Clayton. They have some history with each other, and I enjoyed their chemistry. There are many different mysteries going on in this book, so it keeps your attention the whole way through! Some of the mysteries I figured out and some I didn't! But I still very much enjoyed this book and couldn't wait to see how it ended! I highly recommend this book and all of Patricia Bradley's books.

I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.

I personally enjoy a good murder love story where the man and woman aren't immediately in love with eachother. Sure there's attraction but I like it when the relationship builds throughout the book and with their shared near death eexperiences. Ms. Bradley does a phenomenal job as always of keeping my heart rate upaaaa

Patricia Bradley hits another Natchez Trace Park Ranger saga out of the park. When ISB Ranger Madison Thorn is taken to her grandfather's home town Natchez, Mississippi during a white collar crime investigation trouble doesn't cease to find her. Minutes in to being back where she spent many childhood summers she encounters childhood enemy now-Ranger Clayton Bradshaw. As Madison navigates all that comes with being in Natchez so finds herself deep in the throws of multiple deadly attempts on her life and those surrounding her and her twisted family dynamics.
As always, Bradley has woven several storylines in to this one installment and sends readers wondering who done it and why. I enjoy Bradley's writings and always get lost in her Natchez Trace stories. The dynamics of the park rangers and their responsibilities are new to me. I enjoy learning the ins and outs. There was so much packed in this story I felt like I struggled to keep track of everything. I was pleasantly suprrised to learn I was right on track with who I thought was involved in all the drama! This is a testament to Patricia Bradley's talent and amazing ability to write an engaging tale.
Thank you to Revell and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this story. Most of the authors I love and follow write for Revell. I enjoy becoming engrossed in so many of their releases. All opinions are my own.

This was a nice conclusion to the Natchez Trace Park Rangers series. Though this is book 4 in the series, the story stands alone and you don't need to read the other books prior to reading this one. The heroine from book 1 shows up as a side character in this one and it was nice to "catch up" with her, but you don't need to know her history to make sense of this novel. This book follows Madison Thorn, an Investigative Services Branch ranger, who has come to Natchez to help with a white collar crime. She left the violent crimes division behind several years prior when she'd had to shoot her partner in self defense and enjoys the lower risk of the white collar investigations. When she unexpectedly gets thrust back in to violent crimes and finds some unexpected answers to her past, she's grateful that ranger Clayton Bradshaw has her back.

While the romance felt a bit rushed and sometimes "cheesy" to me, I'll be the first to admit that I typically do enjoy my suspense with little to no romance, so this one will likely better appeal to those who enjoy a good dose of romance with their suspense and find it satisfying when the characters fall in love quickly. Outside of the romance though, this book hit the ground running and kept me turning pages to see what was going to happen next. I didn't know "whodunit" till the very end, and the mystery was enjoyable. There was a solid faith thread as Clayton relied on God through his temptations and Madison sought answers. And there was a common thread of forgiveness for all of the main characters. I enjoyed the overall story arc and the character growth and development. Overall this was an enjoyable read and one I'd recommend to fans of inspirational romantic suspense.

Special thanks to Revell Publishers and NetGalley for an advance e-copy of this novel. I was under no obligation to provide a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.

The title of this read resonates throughout, and from page one on it became a page turner. Starting with the ultimate betrayal, and then more!

This read is Christian Suspense at its best, you will soon be ducking bullets, and wondering whom the culprit is, and don't get to comfortable and think things are solved, nope!

We are offered some family reunions, some farewells, along with some sweet romance. We also learn again the gift of forgiveness, both to others and yourself!

I loved this read, and now can't wait for the next in this series, and yes there is a teaser!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.

"Deception" is a Christian romantic suspense. This is the fourth book in a series, but it worked as a standalone novel. The main characters were engaging, complex, and reacted in realistic ways to events. The suspense came from the attacks on Madison and a woman who looks just like her--which one is the target? It was a complex mess to sort out. Madison and Clayton asked questions, followed up on leads, and worked well together.

However, Madison thought about some clues (so the reader can guess the identity of a suspect from a past case) yet she somehow didn't put the clues together at that time. There was another suspect where she seemed surprisingly willing to accept his assurances. On the other hand, she previously fell in love with someone willing to kill her, so it's consistent that she tended to see the best in people but was good at spotting discrepancies in paperwork and crime scenes.

Clayton trusted Madison's ability to analyze crime scenes. They worked as a team and supported each other. Clayton struggled to resist his addiction to gambling and to forgive his sister's husband for his addiction. He felt God telling him to support the other in resisting his addictions rather than condemning him, even if it was hard to trust that he really had changed. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this suspenseful novel.

A thrilling last installment in this fantastic series! This book is full of danger and suspense that takes many turns leaving you guessing until the very end! Patricia Bradley never fails to draw me in from the opening pages and captivating me until the very end.

ISB agent Madison Thorn has not had a smooth past. After fatally shooting an FBI agent who turned evil, she gives up her job solving violent crimes and settles for solving safe white collar crimes. Her job leads her back to Natchez where her grandfather, Judge William Anderson, lives. When her grandfather is shot on the same night as a woman who looks just like Madison, she finds herself thrust into investigating a violent crime again.

Ranger Clayton Bradshaw is putting his life back together when his path crosses with Madison Thorn whom he once knew from childhood. Together, they work to untangle a multilayered web of danger before time runs out on them.

This may be my favorite book of the series and I hated to say goodbye to these characters and Natchez. It was hard to put down, yet you want to savor every word. It is a must read!

I was given a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are completely my own.

Deception by Patricia Bradley is the fourth book in her Natchez Park Rangers series. Even though it is the fourth in the series this book could be read as a stand-alone novel. Book started out suspenseful with Madison protecting herself from an evil man. Characters from previous books are mentioned in the book but they don't have any roles in this book. Like the previous books in this series there were several different storylines going. Someone wants Madison Thorn dead and you have to wonder who wants her dead. There are some surprises in the book that I will not reveal as it will spoil it for the reader. I loved reading alone as Madison discovered secrets from her birth that she was not aware of. Loved the relationship with Clayton and some other people who came into her life.

Highly recommended for those who love romantic/suspense/thriller type of books.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for providing me an e-copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own and I was not compensated for them.

Loved the authentic characters, the storyline and could not stop reading until I finished at 2am!
Deception by author Patricia Bradley is an excellent story. I think it might just be my favorite of hers yet! I highly recommend it! Deception is the final novel of her “Natchez Trace Park Rangers” series which I have followed from the beginning. Each book can be read as a standalone, but many of the characters make cameo appearances in the other books. The plot is complex complete with many surprises, twists, and turns. I just loved it! Deception is a perfect example of romantic suspense.

This book was the best one yet in this series. It was twisty, thought provoking, and full of action, not to mention romance.
Each of the main characters had their own strengths and weaknesses that somehow complemented and supported each other. The struggle with faith and it’s place in their lives was realistic and painted an emotional portrait that made me relate to each character.
The suspense was top notch and the action kept me engrossed in the story. The ending was not what I expected which was surprising and satisfying. I loved this book.
I was given a copy of this book through Interviews and Reviews via NetGalley courtesy of Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group. This is my honest opinion of the book.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Madison is conducting an investigation in her Grandfathers home town. She is excited to spend more time with him however she has no idea the events that are about to occur.

Clayton, an old acquaintance of Madison, pulls Madison over for speeding and little does he know how he and Madison will be thrown together in the next coming weeks.

Madison learns her Grandfather may not be as honest as he should be, learns of a sibling she never knew she had, and someone is trying to kill her and those she loves.

Buckle up for some intense suspense.
3.5 stars

Deception is the 4th installment in the Patricia Bradley’s Natchez Trace Park Rangers series. It stands on its own, but I recommend reading the entire series.
In this book, an Investigative Services Branch ranger, has been sent to to Natchez, MS, to investigate white collar crime. From the surprise beginning all the way through, this one is full of twists and turns and suspense. It’s a complex story, full of deception and mysteries to be solved. A very satisfying read!

ISB Ranger Madison Thorn left her work in violent crimes after a traumatizing incident. Now she works white collar crimes and heads to Natchez for an assignment. Officer Clayton Bradshaw is investigating a shooting and Madison gets pulled into the investigation. She has to balance her own investigation and the unfolding drama with her own family and her adoptive past.

Madison struggles to trust men after what happened and Clayton made a promise when he came to follow Christ. They learn to work together and support each other through all the drama that unfolds.

This is book four in the series, I've not read the others, but I had no problems reading it as a stand alone. Christian suspense readers will enjoy it.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review!
