Thank you to Net Galley for the ARC! This book was good, not great. Nothing bad to say about it. Just thought it was okay and an easy read.
This is the first book I've read by Tracy Corbett. As a fan of romantic comedies, I was drawn to the storyline of enemies-to-lovers planning a wedding that isn't theirs. I was impressed by the quality of Tracy's writing but ultimately didn't love this book.
The book spends so much time on other characters rather than Beth and Matt that at the beginning, I questioned whether they were the main characters of the story. Additionally, the book attempts to address a lot of serious issues. Those two things seemed like too much packed into one story and took away from the book's pace for me.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely adore Ms Corbett's writing style - her characters are grown-up and realistic, and each one is vitally distinct. I love the premise, too - I mean, what could possibly go wrong? But most of all, I love the comedy in this book. To me, it was very reminiscent of Bridget Jones, and it had me chuckling out loud all the way through. And just when you thought you were on the home stretch and it would be plain sailing from now on... something else happened to upset the applecart!
Highly recommended!
A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

Who doesn't love love? I love a good wedding romance, especially when it's an enemies to lovers one where the bride and groom's support folks are forced to work together! This is a perfectly fine read, but it also wasn't anything special. It was basically exactly what I expected from reading the blurb - which is fine, but I like when there are at least a few surprises or twists or new takes on common tropes in a book. There's also a lot of borderline problematic moments, especially when dealing with topics like fatphobia and eating disorders and, like, glasses shaming? It would have been a perfectly benign 4 star read for me if not for the weirdly rigid beauty standards that were somewhat off-putting.

What a beautiful story. I had fun reading it.
I’m new to this author so wasn’t sure what to expect, but what I found was a pleasant surprise. I sweet story that I enjoyed reading. I particularly liked reading both sides of the story from the perspective of both main characters.
I will definitely look out for more books written by this author in the future.
Someone To Love by Tracy Corbett

It’s hate at first sight for the wedding planners…
It’s down to maid of honour Beth and best man Matt to plan a dream wedding for the absent bride and groom. Not only do they have to handle the bride’s sky-high expectations and their respective dysfunctional families, they also have to deal with each other – and so far, it’s not going well.
Fire-fighter Matt is far too laid-back for Beth’s liking, and Beth’s need to arrive half an hour early for everything is driving Matt crazy. But over the weeks, the arguing and animosity morphs into something else that feels fun and flirty…
This is a quick, cute and fun read, with a slow-burn romance. A well-written novel with well-developed characters. For fans of rom-coms and enemies-to-lovers.
Rating 4/5
Whoa! What a ride. It was very fast-paced. The writing style kept me hooked and I didn't find myself losing any interest. I enjoyed getting to know each of the characters and how real the story felt. The author did a great job painting the setting, so it was easy for me to visualize the scene played out before me. I recommend giving this one a chance!
There was a lot going on in this book and it made it seem like it dragged on a little. There was an abundance of characters to keep track of which made it a little confusing.
Overall the book was well written but tackled a lot of subjects. I was expecting a more lighthearted read.
Two exes are forced together to plan their friends wedding after a series of unforseen circumstances leads to this conclusion. The book is an enemies to lovers trope.
There were a lot of funny moments and crazy shenanigans throughout the book.
The book would have benefited from and epilogue set some time in the future to catch up on how things were going down the road.
This is my first time reading something by this author so I really didn't know what to expect when I picked this up. The story flowed nicely and the characters were interesting and fun. Beth and Matt were great characters and they had an undeniable connection. Although they were complete opposites, they were exactly what each of them needed and fit together well. The story was engaging and held my interest all the way through. As with all good stories, there is a bit of drama along with the romance but it all comes to a satisfying conclusion at the end. This was a sweet and fun, romance with endearing characters that's sure to put a smile on your face. Also, just had to mention the cover is really cute and is one which gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling of happiness, which is exactly what this story did. An easy and enjoyable read, and I am happy to have had the opportunity to review.
I received a complimentary copy from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I was so looking forward to this book and I wish I would've loved it, but unfortunately I didn't. The writing felt messy, the main characters didn't have any chemistry whatsoever and I couldn't seem to connect to the story or characters at all. It was mainly the fatphobia that I had an issue with, as that topic was handled so poorly. I want to give the author another shot in next releases as there is potential, but this was unfortunately a 2-star read for me.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the author for gifting me an eARC, in return for an honest review.
Beth is responsible given her profession was tasked by her younger sister in planning her wedding together with the groom’s uncle whom Beth couldn’t stand. Beth and Matt’s relationship did not start off well and this has form a rather negative perception of Beth over him. In the middle of planning, there is story of her parent who are in the middle of a divorce.
The storyline is promising but I find it abit rushed as it’s storyline started to develop. The story is also complicated and serious than what I expected just by looking at the book cover. Too many issue appeared and while I find all the conflict is interesting I feel that these conflict does not have sufficient time for it to develop before it end/resolved
A very enjoyable read with good characters and settings. So well written and leaving you wanting even more. 5 stars from me.
Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this e ARC
A sweet story that made me smile. I liked the well developed characters and the plot.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
Beth and Matt are stuck planning a wedding together. Both are keeping secrets and when everything is finally revealed do they have a chance together?
I liked how it was told from both of their points of view, but would have liked an epilogue to see a bit more of them together.
I thought that this was such a cute story. I loved the relationship, the characters were likeable, and I have no complaints!
Beth is a slightly uptight prim and proper solicitor who is her sister's maid of honour
Matt is a hunky firefighter who loves food but is worried about his size and is his nephews best man
They are thrown together to try and plan the dream wedding. As with all weddings nothing goes to plan and there are plenty of disagreements on the way
A fun read
Someone to love definitely had an interesting plot that grabbed my attention.
I immediately liked the whole wedding planner/ best man being enemies to lover part..
The cover also caught my eyes too, it's so cute!
However, the story fell flat early on for me. It was very slow moving and hard to get into and stay interested. I might give it another try in the future but for now it's a two star rating. It did have promise and potential though.
Thank you Netgalley and publishers for allowing me the chance to read and review.
This will be up on blog whenever I get the chance to post from my laptop.
What a truly stunning read this book is and Tracy never fails to disappoint. Heart warming and beautifully written.
