This was such a heartwarming story to read. I think the ending was fairly predictable from early on in the read, but the journey was just magical with so many special moments. I thought the developing relationship between Nora and Charlie was fabulous and developed so gradually and carefully to make it a compelling read.

Nora's back story is slowly revealed and was realistic and understandable - I think her sister, Libby, was very lucky to have Nora in her life. Sunshine falls: I want to visit. I can understand the attraction even to live there.

Brilliantly funny and a wonderful read throughout. I was rooting for Nora and delighted with the outcome of Libby's 'secret' - don't miss this comforting read. It was all I expected, having read Emily Henry before, and so much more!

Having been a fan of Emily Henry’s last romance books I was looking forward to this one. It did not disappoint. The romance between Nora and Charlie was a slow burn and I loved it. I also loved the setting of Sunshine Falls. It had some great humour in it and I found I was genuinely laughing at several points.

Not only have I been terrible at reviewing the Booker longlist as I read my way through, I’ve realised I’ve only not reviewed or posted about half of the books that made it to my favourites of the year list!

Some of them I read while I didn’t really have the energy for bookstagram posts, or I just couldn’t find the right words to describe them and how reading them made me feel.

Book Lovers is definitely the latter for me; it was published during one of the busiest parts of my masters this year, and while it was a perfect escape and restorative read, I couldn’t really articulate that while I was still in the busyness itself.

I won’t list out the plot for you here, mostly because everyone else has read it already, but I will say that Nora and Charlie as characters were *perfect* and I loved getting to read their story.

Emily Henry got me back into reading romance novels after I hadn’t picked one up for nearly a decade, and I’m so glad that I’ve been able to read I over the genre (and change my opinion on it too, if we’re being honest!) - having books like these as escapism has been one of the best things for my mental health recently.

It’s also an impressive feat to have three books that are all of the same quality and are all well done - some of my other auto-buy authors this year had books that I just didn’t love as much, and thankfully that was not the case with Book Lovers!

As we start our slow and gentle move into spring time over the next few months, this is high on my re-reading list to help bring some sunshine. I recommend it for your list too!

Every time I finish an Emily Henry romance, I want to go back and experience it for the first time all over again. She's so good at writing heartthrobs that you can't help but fall in love with - even with all their problems and bad attitudes attached. Book Lovers is aptly named as it is the perfect read for all romance-loving book lovers. A slow burn with lots of tension. I highly recommend!

I love an Emily Henry book.

I think she's such a wonderful writer: great with emotions, sharply observed characters and a real fondness for what she's doing. You can tell that here, with the play on tropes that is continually hinted at. I loved this main character: she's so funny and witty and has such a big heart. I have a real soft spot for characters who do not see themselves as the Hero in any way and I think that's so funnily and well done in this novel. I also really, really adore stories about families and the sisters relationship here was wonderful.

What was also wonderful was the relationship between the two mains. I loved that their personalities were so distinct and you could feel them pushing at each other. I also thought it was a very adult relationship. Like, the conflict here is understandable and everything makes sense. This is a very grown up book, I think. Sometimes, there can be a tendency for the conflict to feel silly or like its just thrown there but everything here felt organic.

I will say that I don't think this grabbed me as much as her other books that I've read. Even though there were a lot of things I liked here -- and I cried! -- I just don't feel like it got into my chest in the same way. It's still really good, but I feel like it wasn't my favourite.

I loved Emily Henrys Beach read but have to say that 'people we meet on vacation' didn't interest me. But when I read the blurb for Book Lovers, I knew I'd have to pick it up and I'm so glad that I did!
I don't think that any of her books will ever be 5 stars (although I may eat my words at that some day!) but she just writes such great romance books which are easy to read, have great chemistry but she always manages to add in some complication or family situation without making it seem forced.
Its a fabulous book and definitely worth picking up!

A glorious love story set in the publishing world. Two unlikely love partners are thrown together while facing some really unexpected hurdles in the career world - highly recommended!

Having read You and Me on Vacation I was super excited about Book Lovers and it did not disappoint. In fact, it was even better. Love the premise and setting -- big city editor in a small town getting away from it all. And the kind-of enemies-to-lovers air of it all. Just the right amount of spice without going overboard too.

So I read this book in one sitting and it made me cry.

The fact that this is my first Emily Henry book shocks me but I can assure you that it will not.be my last. I loved everything about this book and I loved following Nora's journey. I loved her interactions with Charlie! They were just perfect in terms of who they were as characters.

Ahh everyone should just go read this one! I loved it and I'm going to go read her backlog!

This book was just... so much fun.
I forgot to rate it when I first finished it, because I also did not really know how I felt about the story. It's now been a few months since I read it and it honestly has been in my thoughts quite a bit, which usually doesn't happen a lot, because I tend to read and forget (oops!). But this was great and I would highly recommend it, especially if you are interested in the publishing/book industry and also if you love a story full of clichés (BUT very, very, very aware of its own clichés, which I found soooo fun to read). I just loved it!

If I could give this more than five stars I would, just a perfect light romance fiction, definitely Emily Henry's best yet. I loved loved loved Nora and Charlie and honestly couldn't put this down.

Fun and pacey. This worked really well - engaging characters and totally believable plot. Devoured it in one sitting!

As usual in my reviews I will not rehash the plot or publishers' blurb - instead I would recommend that you read this for yourself.

I was drawn to the title because (like most of us on here!) I am a book lover. I've also read and enjoyed previous titles by Emily Henry, and this latest novel was no exception.

I loved the interplay between the characters, and their various relationships - chiefly Charlie and Nora. Although I could have kind of guessed what would happen next in the book at times, it didn't detract from my enjoyment. Once I started reading I was hooked, and stayed up very late (into the next day!) to finish the book.

I think of all the Emily Henry books I've read, this was my favourite. It felt more believable and I liked the characters more. I'd love to know what happened next...

My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC. All opinions my own.

While I normally am not a big fan of the small city story, both MCs really resonated with me on a different level. I did enjoy the love story, while not being the biggest fan of the "secret" the sister had. Looking forward to more Emily Henry books!

Loved the small town setting. The plot was all about books. I loved the chemistry between the characters. This book is worth all the hype.

Emily Henry does it again. I inhale everything she writes and this is no exception. It’s funny and her unique voice shines through with likeable and relatable characters.

(First of all, thank you so much NetGalley, publisher, and author, for providing me this ARC in exchange for an honest review)

Synopsis: Nora Stephens works as a literary agent and her life consists of reading books but she doesn't consider herself the type of heroines she reads about.

So she agrees to go to a small-town called Sunshine Falls, North Carolina for the month of August when her sister Libby begs her for a trip transformation for Nora, who she’s convinced needs to become the heroine in her own story. However, Nora keeps bumping into Charlie Lastra, a bookish brooding editor from back in the city. It would be a meet-cute if not for the fact that they’ve met many times and it’s never been cute.

If Nora knows she’s not an ideal heroine, Charlie knows he’s nobody’s hero, but as they are thrown together again and again—in a series of coincidences no editor worth their salt would allow—what they discover might just unravel the carefully crafted stories they’ve written about themselves.

Review: I enjoyed this book as much as her others. I absolutely love the vision of working in a literary agent, the tension and the relationship of the main characters 😍 Waiting to read the next!

Emily Henry is an autobuy author for me. Her writing just sucks me in and this book no was exception. I loved how real and authentic this was. It was such an effortless read with so much soul. I really liked the big city vs small town vibe of the story and the little backstories we get along the way. The romance had a great slow burn and the story sizzled with chemistry the whole way. The romance wasnt thw front and center of this story. It was a great story about family, sacrifices and loss too. Great characters and a great story and I can't wait for more.
