A perfect addition the the Rick Riordan presents imprint. These books have been go to choices for me and my middle schoolers in recent years. The Aru Shah series has been a particular and Nectar of Immortality continues the story in such an interesting and fun way. I listened to this audio book with my son and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters are so dynamic and realistic even as they navigate fantastical situations. At their core, they felt like real kids struggling with the ups and downs and charges or growing up and growing into themselves. Highly recommended.
Thank you to Disney Audiobooks and NetGalley for providing a copy of this audiobook for review.
I have been invested in Aru Shah's story since the beginning. She is an interesting character with quirks and habits that make her unique and lovable. I was hoping for the best for her and her siblings. These relationships, while relatively new, are deep and powerful. It's the friendship that so many hope for. They constantly go to bat for each other and risk life and limb to protect one another. These characters are inspirational. They all have faults, they all have strengths, and they stick together through everything. They are a wonderful example for preteens and teens - be who you are, because you are exceptional.
I have been looking forward to the final book in this series and this did not disappoint. This series wrapped up beautifully and I am very thankful the same narrator was used for each book. Her voice inflection helps propel the story forward and brings greater depth to each character. This series will be recommended to all my Percy Jackson fans who are looking for more.
This was a great addition to the series and the narrator did a great job. It wraps up nicely at the end with some room for additional adventures if they'd like to go in that direction!
This was a great addition to the Aru Shah series! We had read the others but listening to this latest book in the series brought it all to life!
What a great closure to an epic quest. Aru and the Potatoes satisfied my every desire in this ending to the Pandava series, complete with hot chocolate, nectar, and war. Truly enjoyed and will be purchasing for my library!
I LOVE reading a series and watching the characters grow up. That's how I feel about this series, I am watching Brynne, Mini, Aiden, Rudy, Aru and Kara grow up. I remember when they met and when they each first got their celestial weapons like it was just a few books ago. As much as I hate to see a series conclude, this one doesn't feel like it did. Hmmmm. I wonder if there will be an after the conclusion short story to wrap up a few last threads.
What I loved: I listened to the audiobook version and the narrator was WONDERFUL! I loved her voice. It felt like Aru Shah. I also loved the war to end all time. It wasn't graphic or gory, but you could still feel the battle and the tension. I love the subtle hints to karma and reincarnation throughout the entire novel. I like that some of the characters have a change of heart. I also loved the concert and the musical talent they each receive as a blessing. As always, I love the gods and goddess and the mythology present. I especially liked the bear god and his magical table.
What I wish for: a little more closure. I still have some unanswered questions.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an audio copy to listen to in exchange for an honest review.
This is the fifth and final book in the author's Pandava series. Aru comes face to face with the Sleeper in battle to gain the nectar of immortality. It is non-stop action from start to finish. I love how Aru and her sisters mature and grow throughout the series; but especially in this book. It has been a long time since I've finished a series and immediately want to start reading it again!
Another action packed adventure for Aru and her sisters. Along the way they have to win back their magical weapons and learn to face and overcome their fears.
Thank you to the Disney Audiobooks and NetGalley for the advanced electronic audio review copy of this amazing book! I really enjoyed the conclusion to the amazing Pandava series. Loved everything about it, but am a bit sorry to say goodbye to the well-loved characters & the magical world. Can’t wait to share this awesome book with my upper elementary students and can’t wait to see what Roshani Chokshi writes next!
I received this as an audio - and I am not disappointed. I really love anything Rosh writes. She is such a great world builder and her characters are always memorable. I love the fact that everyone really grew into themselves in this book - no matter what the cost was. I also love the banter and references thrown in. This was such a great ending to this series - everything wasn't all sunshine and roses, which is realistic. Anyway, I'm always going to recommend anything she writes - she's one of my top 5.
I'm always excited to pick up a new Aru Shah book and The Nectar of Immortality lived up to the hype. this book picks up almost immediately after the last, with the Pandava sisters and wifey faced with a serious dilemma. Kara destroyed the divine weapons and betrayed the Pandava's for the Sleeper. The Labyrinth leading to the Nectar of immortality will disappear in ten days and to get in the sisters will have to regain the favor of the gods and prepare for war at the same time.
As always, the pacing an characterization are awesome in these books. I pretty much read this is one go. The audiobook is excellent and the narrator establishes each character's voice well. Hopefully Chokshi decides to write more like this.
A fitting conclusion to the Aru Shah series. It was phenomenal to see the characters emerge and grow as young adults. The pacing continued to be quick. I look forward to bringing this into my classroom. It left just a little opening for additional adventures but won’t leave you hanging. The narrator was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this one to anyone who wants an amazing adventure.
