I felt so SEEN reading this book! Jenna was truly a loving voice to guide me to some hard truths and in this book, she totally shows up as herself and brings you in immediately with her authenticity so you can tap into yours! Immediately this book has you hooked. She just makes you feel like a kitchen table conversation about your life is being had and you cry and get up and make a changes because you can. Loved this book so much!
I really enjoyed Jenna’s relatable stories and the way she encourages you to listen to yourself. She has a way of motivating, comforting, and encouraging you at the same time. She’s all about “where the woo meets the work” meaning you can figure out what you desire, get in energetic alignment, but you still need to take action. If you’re feeling stuck, lost, or in the midst of change, this book could be helpful.
This is a book about how to stop and take inventory and from that inventory pivot within your own life. Written as both a self help and memoir the author leans heavily into how she got to where she is today, through listening to her own internal voices and pushing through to achieve her goals.
It is written in a very easy to read style and has many moments that will cause the reader to stop, think and decide how they are living their own life. The chapters are written so that you can pick up and set the book down without feeling as though you are missing out, in fact reflection is often encouraged throughout the book, and one of the key ways the author has adapted within her own life.
Many of the questions asked could be easily translated to and applied to what you are hoping to accomplish at any point in your life. It's not about one specific time, but rather a process to achieve your goals.
I’m a big fan of Jenna’s and have been listening to her podcast for years. This felt like an extension of that and I heard it exactly in her voice!
I loved how easily I was able to breeze through this book - finished it in one sitting!
I adore Jenna Kutcher! I’ve been following Jenna for a few years now and she is refreshing and says everything you wish people were actually saying. This book was like getting advice from a friend.
I was very excited to receive an early copy of How Are You, Really by podcaster Jenna Kutcher. Jenna's podcast is on weekly rotation in my car so I was thrilled to dig into this one.
The book was well written, refreshing and a good reminder to stay present in life. Jenna gives great advice on how to live most authentically, to follow your heart and what it truly desires.
I was so honored to be on the launch team and get early access to the book. I can’t say enough about how amazing this book is.
I’ve been a fan of Jenna’s podcast for years now, and when I heard she was releasing a book I knew I had to read it. How Are You, Really? did not disappoint. Just like her podcast, Jenna does an amazing job of sharing her story while weaving in practical tips for the reader. How Are You, Really? has helped me slow down and reflect on what it is I truly want as well as help me have these deeper conversations with friends too.
This book is written as if you are actually have a conversation with Jenna Kutcher. Material is personal, relatable, and very relevant at any stage of life.
Reading “How Are You, Really?” transported me to a cozy coffee shop and gave me the feeling I was sitting down to chat with a dear friend. Jenna’s honest and authentic way of being invites you to open your heart to the question that will help you to know and love yourself in a deeper way. You lovingly care for everyone else around you. Now it’s time to care for the beautiful soul you are and start asking yourself “How Are You, Really?” - Catherine Wilde | Soul Care Mom
Reading How are you, really? feels exactly like strolling through a park with a hot cup of coffee and having a deep conversation with a lifelong friend. As an aspiring author, I am deeply moved by how Jenna’s words leap off the page and hit me right in the heart.
How are you, really? is like a breath of fresh air for my soul. Jenna is a masterful storyteller and gets straight to the heart of the matter with authenticity. She tackles challenging issues with gentle compassion. Her practical reflection questions and strategies are both lighthearted and profound. One of my favorite parts is “Jenna’s Jump Starts”, where there’s a mini “cheat sheet” with simple strategies for navigating different feelings from exhausted and lonely to stuck and blah. This year has been a tough one for me - I’ve lost loved ones, gotten divorced, moved, changed jobs, lost my church group, and navigated chronic health challenges and depression. Staying hopeful and authentically listening to my feelings has often felt overwhelming. How are you, really? Is exactly the kind of resource I’ve been looking for: a judgment-free journey to reclaiming and reframing the struggles of life into opportunity and an emerging pathway forward.
I am so grateful that Jenna poured generous time and energy into bringing this beautiful book to life! If you’re looking to cultivate your intuition and inner wisdom while embracing the full, messy richness that this wild, wonderful life has to offer, I can’t recommend How are you, really? more highly!
From the very 1st word this book soaks into my soul.
I'm so happy Jenna wrote this book because it's like having a heart-to-heart talk with a friend. While they also checking in on you to see, how are you, really?
No fluff or surface-level stuff here.
But legit tough love with a boost of inspiration to get you out there...
And be 110% and beyond unapologetically you.
This book is soooo relatable and a must-read for your mind, body, and soul.
This is a wonderful book for any beginner entrepreneur or wanna be entrepreneur who just doesn’t know if they’re ready to take the leap yet. Or maybe they’re feeling hesitant. It’s inspirational and motivating. Looking forward to reading this again and again.
I think if you're looking for pep talk in a book this might be a good choice. The author really asks readers to think about their feelings and check in. It's simple but I think we don't do it often enough. Oh and I love the reflection prompts.
Jenna's book was a timely and refreshing disruption. As a lifelong "people-pleaser", you can regularly find me responding with "I'm good" to anyone's inquiry. Yet, when this book popped up on my radar, I read the title and knew I couldn't answer "I'm good" to "How are you...really?" Jenna's self-awareness in this book felt aspirational. In reading the book, I was inspired by the clarity she has around her life and how she went about finding it, From chapter to chapter, I was inspired to pause and reflect upon what it is I"m really after so that I could answer honestly to "How are you really?"
Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the advance reader's copy.
Love this book. Its self-help and confidence wrapped into one. Jenna shares her life struggles and advice from experiences. The book is easy to read and thought provoking.
Jenna has an amazing soul and she pours it all out into this book. Her highest highs and her lowest low are all here on display in this vulnerable story of her life. She has stepped up and overcome so many challenges and the grace she has given herself is inspiring. This book is all about re connecting with yourself and re connecting with those emotions that you may have lost touch with. Finding your true self and loving that true self for who they are and embracing them.
Unfortunately this felt like a big advertisement for a website for "more" self-help tips. Didn't click well with me.
