What She Found is the ninth book in the Tracy Crosswhite series, about a Seattle homicide detective who solves Cold Cases, usually involving missing women. Although I don't usually read police procedurals, this is a very interesting series with a fully developed main character.

I love a good Tracy Crosswhite novel - and they are all good. Having moved from homicide to cold cases, you would think that life would settle down for Tracy. But of course not.

This is an interesting book with a great pace. After being prodded to look into the disappearance of a reporter 25 years ago by the reporter’s daughter, Tracy stumbles upon much more than a simple disappearance. Corruption, murder, drugs, it’s all here. Dugoni always writes clearly and follows an intelligent path. The characters a well-formed, and the plot arc is clever.

This book is hard to put down. I love Tracy as a tough female lead, and have enjoyed watching her expand with husband and child. I would recommend the whole series because you get to know her and the other main characters, and understand their motivations better. That said, I think you could read it as a stand-alone.

Absolutely one of the best books I've read so far this year! Mr. Dugoni brings back the fantastic Tracy Crosswhite in What She Found. As part of her cold case division - well, really, she's the only one - she is working on a case of a missing mother (Lisa), at the bequest of her daughter, Anita. Lisa has been missing for over 25 years, and Anita wants the truth, no matter what it means. In true Tracy fashion, she digs, chases, and ruffles some feathers to get to the truth. It's interesting how the character's home life with her husband and daughter are always worked into the narrative. Cant's say enough about What She Found!. The Crosswhite series is one of my favorites and I was really looking forward to this one. While it’s not my favorite in the series it still felt great to be back in the company of characters that I love.
As someone who feels protective of my favorite characters this one got uncomfortable at times when Detective Crosswhite had to turn her investigative eye to some of her closest colleagues and best friends.
Good stuff and highly entertaining. Can’t wait for the next one.

I've been a big fan of the Robert Dugoni's Tracy Crosswhite series for years, and I'm always overjoyed for a new installment.

Unfortunately, this one was a bit of a letdown.

Novels written during the COVID era can either choose to embrace this crazy time, or completely ignore it. This book didn't do either. The restaurant they spend a lot of time in mentions doing a successful takeout business a few times, but the only definite mention of COVID happens in the author note at the end. But the book does focus a lot on some of the social upheaval that happened in Seattle during the summer of 2020 with the Black Lives Matter protests. I find it interesting that the author had no issue making this part of his story, but didn't acknowledge the other major issue of 2020.

Anyway. On to the actual story. I'm pleased that even though Tracy works cold cases now, Dugoni still comes up with seemingly realistic ways for her to interact with her former homicide colleagues. Kinz wasn't a part of this story, but we get a lot of Del and Foz, which was nice. The plot was frustrating, because it was a really good idea for a cold case/story, but it wasn't fleshed out well, and the ending was so anticlimactic. It was also annoying how much he emphasized the importance of family time. Yes, Tracy has a young child at home now. We get it. We do not need the constant emphasis on family time, and for other characters to make a point of telling her that they didn’t want to interrupt her family time.

I'll continue to read as many Tracy Crosswhite novels as Dugoni puts out. They really are interesting, intelligent police procedurals. I just hope the next installment has a better ending than this one.

The Tracy Crosswhite series by Robert Dugoni never disappoints. I first discovered this author through an Amazon deal of the day and became hooked. In Book 9, Tracy has come to peace with being relegated to Cold Case files. Against direct orders, Tracy agrees to investigate the disappearance and presumed murder of investigative reporter, Lisa Childress, who vanished decades earlier after leaving home to meet a source in the dead of night, at the request of Lisa’s daughter, Anita, who has become an investigative reporter to feel closer to the mother she doesn’t remember.

I love Tracy’s commitment to finding victims and helping families heal. She is dogged in the pursuit of answers and doing what is right, even at her own expense. With each installment in the series, I appreciate Tracy’s growth as a woman, love of family, and determination. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

The 9th and newest book in the Tracy Crosswhite series does not disappoint. Although not strictly necessary, it helps to read the 8.5 short novel that precedes it, where some of the characters that are fundamental to this story are introduced.
Tracy is now a Cold Cases detective and in this issue she deals with the disappearance of an investigative reporter 24 years ago. This is fast paced book, engaging and gripping with plenty of surprises and twists. It is possibly the least dark in the series.
A lot of separate plots seem to go on at the beginning of the book and pulling in different directions, however everything comes together and fits nicely. It was good to get to know a bit better the backgrounds of Del and Faz, secondary characters in the series, both very close to Tracy.
Every Tracy Crosswhite’s book leaves me wanting to read the next installment, a good problem to have.

What She Found is another installment in the Tracy Crosswhite series by Robert Dugoni. I have enjoyed Tracy Crosswhite as she portrayed a thrice decorated homicide detective. Her character has moved from homicide to cold cases. This first cold case proves to be intriguing as she investigates a 25 year old disappearance. The reader is given the facts of the cold case; the puzzling facts become more bizarre and nefarious as Tracy investigates the mysterious cold case. A superb twist leads to a surprising reveal as well as corruption in the police department. The plot is unique and the mystery is suspenseful. The resolution was disappointing, however. There was a dynamic build up in suspense… then poof!
The ending, while anticlimactic, seems like it will be a springboard for other cold case investigations in future books., and I am looking forward to reading more of Crosswhite’s exploits!

This is the most excited I have been to receive an ARC. I love the Tracy Crosswhite series and always look forward to these books. This latest story did not disappoint. Tracy is such a strong and relatable female character. She stands up for what is right and is fiercely loyal to her family and friends. I enjoy her new role as a cold case detective and the way the past plays a role in the stories.

This one of the best series ever! I love Tracy Crosswhite and every one of these books in this series. Please read them in order! This one is one of the most interesting cases ever! I loved the characters, except Beverly. She was so one demential, that I had a hard time with her. Most of the characters in these books, you can picture in your head, but not Beverly. Still the book was great and the characters and storyline were especially good, (except for poor Beverly). I love how the author takes you step by step in how she solves a mystery. Very well done. Keep up the great job on this series. Highly recommend.

Tracy Crosswhite is back and better than ever! Things are wrapping up from her last case and she's asked to look into a missing person's case. What follows is so much more complicated than could have been imagined. This case has Casey questioning the people around her. The tension is high and the mystery full of twists. I love that this new position has more glimpses of Tracy's homelife. She's a much more balanced character. This case really tests her. Most things are resolved yet it leaves things open to make the next book very interesting. I'm never disappointed with this author!

This was a fast paced, action packed book and a very fun read. All events happened quickly so there was no full moment whatsoever. The characters are well worked out and the story itself is also quite interesting.

I absolutely love this series and this latest book was awesome.
Tracey is working the cold case files when she is approached by Anita, the daughter of a woman who went missing 24 years ago. Upon looking at her file, Tracey starts to see some wholes in the investigation, as well as the correlation to another cold case. Her investigation leads to more questions, and few answers. Tracey seems she is not getting anywhere until someone mentions seeing the missing woman after the date of her disappearance. Now Tracey will stop at nothing, not even her suspension from the police force, to solve both cold cases and bring justice to the victims.
Fast paced and completely engaging. Had a few surprise twists in the plot as well. As always Robert Dugoni crafts a story the flows effortlessly from scene to scene, and kept me reading throughout the night. Highly recommend.

I am a huge fan of this author and this series and this book did not disappoint. Following Tracy and her journey through these novels is always a pleasure. I found the writing refreshing and also deep. I loved the idea of a possible corruption in the police department i thought that was a good turn of events in this series and the fact that someone Tracy and us as the audience loves might be involved in some way really tugged at the heart and the mind. I also loved the ending cant wait for the next book in the series down the road.would highly recommend.

This has been a series that I have enjoyed quite a bit. I had a little bit of a quandary earlier when there was a short story released a couple of months ago that actually ended up being the prequel for book #9. Unfortunately, at the time I was reading it, I didn't quite understand that it was the prequel, so I ended the novella and thought, "what the heck?" But now, it all began to make sense.

We have been on this journey with Detective Tracy Crosswhite while she has fought the good fight against the AWFUL Captain Johhny Nolasco (who is now unfortunately her boss), all the while investigating the disappearance and murder of her younger sister. It has been quite the journey. Little by little, things have been resolved - she has now solved her sister's case, she has been awarded the Medal of Valor several times, yet she STILL has to deal with the crap that comes along with her position. This book, though, was a little bit different.

We started in the past (remember the prequel I mentioned?) and then as this book begins, we are given a little more information on past events. Then, we get to the present and we get the Detective Crosswhite that we have come to know. This is the woman who does not take no for an answer and who is determined to solve the problems in front of her. This time, she is approached by a woman who asks her to reopen a case on her missing mother - who went missing almost 25 years ago. And so it begins.....

I have to admit, this book kept me interested the entire time (though to be honest, this series has done that every time) but it WAS a little bit different in the fact that for once, Tracy wasn't fighting for her life or putting her family in danger. But, there was a whole lot going on under the surface that she was beginning to skim and things became very apparent to the reader what the underlying issues were pretty quickly. This case brings to light certain issues that are front and center in todays real life (politics...defunding the police...but fortunately, not in too political of a manner). It also makes us really think whether or not it is right or fair to bring past transgressions to light.

Unfortunately, the complete story arc felt unfinished. Yes, the major portion of it was solved. But, it wasn't really finished. I guess that means it is leaving the next book open and giving it a place to start, but it didn't really feel like it left the reader with that feeling of satisfaction. At least, not the feeling that I usually have when Detective Crosswhite has solved the case and made the bad guys pay.....

Regardless, this was still a great inclusion in the Crosswhite series and I am glad I was given the opportunity to read and review it. It may not have been my favorite, but it was definitely interesting.

Tracy must start by identifying the dead confidential informant and trying to figure out the subject of the story. It ends up being a much bigger story than anyone imagined and Tracy risks her career to solve it.

Another great thriller from Dugoni. He draws the readers into his settings and makes the reader care for the characters who he writes about.
