My thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review an ARC of What She Found. Expected publication date - Aug 23rd 2022

Detective Tracy Crosswhite has agreed to look into the disappearance of investigative reporter Lisa Childress, at the request of Lisa’s daughter, Anita. But after 25 years, the odds of her still being alive are slim.

Tracy is faced with reopening the extremely dangerous investigations that Lisa was following on the night she disappeared, including rumors of a city councilman’s criminal sex life; a drug task force scandal and the crooked police involved and an elusive serial killer.

Both Lisa and Anita have to be prepared to face whatever the truth might be and the high price to pay from uncovering decade long secrets.

What I loved...
📚 This was my first Robert Dugoni novel and I was very pleasantly surprised... not just from the content but that this author had seemingly slipped under my radar. It was an excellently paced thriller with a great plotline that constantly kept unfolding and revealing more details with every page!
📚 I was a little sceptical when I realised that this was the 9th book featuring Tracy Crosswhite and an ongoing series. But I loved that this novel delivered successfully as a stand-alone book and I'm excited to check out the previous offerings!

What I didn't love...
📚 The overall pace sometimes lost momentum and felt a bit rambling over minute details.
📚 Was not a fan of Weber as a character. Won't say too much to spoil anything but I thought the character a little underdeveloped and a missed opportunity

You know a series is exceptional when this is the ninth book and it still manages to impress you.

Detective Tracy Crosswhite is now assigned to working cold cases and is approached by a woman looking for answers as to what happened to her mother who vanished 20+ years ago (she was an investigative reporter). Tracy always commits to any case she is asked to look into and is like a dog with a bone- relentless. As she goes over the events leading up to this woman’s disappearance, she learns this reporter was about to expose criminal activity by some important people- there seems to be more to her disappearance than anyone realized.

This was another solid police procedural story and I absolutely look forward to following Tracy Crosswhite on her next assignment. Thanks Robert Dugoni for this suspenseful series and thank you Thomas & Mercer for this ARC. What She Found is available 8/23/22.

Robert Dugoni has done it again! I always eagerly await the next book in the Tracy Crosswhite series, and this one didn’t disappoint. Told from Tracy’s perspective, I enjoyed seeing how Dugoni takes us into her mind as she works a 24 year old cold case that may involve her dear friends and partners. I didn’t anticipate the big twists the case takes. It’s a real pleasure to read these books with an intelligent, grounded, thoughtful detective, thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read an advance copy. I highly recommend this series.

Thank you to Netgalley, Thomas & Mercer and Robert Dugoni for the ARC of this book. I squealed in excitement when I was approved for it because I absolutely love this series! Tracy Crosswhite is such an amazing detective, wife, mother and friend and I loved diving into more of her life and cases. I really enjoyed this one and the differences in it from the other novels - especially the revisit of other characters. This book releases on August 23, 2022!

Part of a series featuring Detective Tracy Crosswhite. She and her family are great characters, she is dogged and determined. A good story with plenty of excitement and twists.

This book is part of a series with a very likeable , persistant, caring detective. She is currently working in cold cases and is asked to look into the disappearance of a reporter 24 yrs before. The reporter was working on a number of cases which all could have been involved in her disappearance and assumed death. It got a bit confusing in the beginning with all the different cases and characters. Overall a good series, a good read and yes you can read it as a stand a lone

Another wonderful installment in the Tracy Crosswhite series. This is typically not a genre that I'm particularly drawn to, but there's something about Tracy that keeps me coming back. I've enjoyed each book and this one was no different. I love how she's driven and compassionate. She never gives up on her victims.

I absolutely love this series. The Tracy Crosswhite is my favorite series by Robert Dugoni. I was so glad when I was able to preview this. If you loved the other Tracy Crosswhite books, you'll love this one too! Highly recommend!

I really like the progression this series has taken. Each novel has a different enough case that they don't all read the same as many series in this genre do. The idea of amnesia like this is intriguing and I definitely did not see that twist coming. Tracy is a well developed lead and I can't wait to.see where the series goes next with a new enemy made in the department.

Thank you to Net Galley for a digital copy and a chance to read this early. All opinions are my own.

Robert Dugoni did it again! This is the ninth full length novel in the Tracy Crosswhite series and, as per his norm, it’s excellent. I thought I could read a few chapters last night. Nope. I couldn’t put it down and only stopped at 1am when my eyes were too heavy to finish. I picked it right back up today to finish. Dugoni has made such good characters - I can picture Tracy and Dan, Faz and his family, etc. I want to eat at Faz’s son’s restaurant. This book picks up where the eighth left off and sees Tracy continuing with cold cases. The case is so completely different than the last, but just as easy to get invested. From the ending, I feel like we’ll get another in the series and it will definitely be on my TBR.

What She Found by Robert Dugoni is another good addition to the Tracy Crosswhite story and series. The drug information was a bit confusing, but the story and mystery were good overall. The ending was satisfying and wrapped up nicely. I enjoy this author's writing style, and he doesn't include any unnecessary fluff or extraneous information. His stories are intriguing and crisp and keep me interested until the end.

I would highly recommend this series and this author. I am never disappointed in reading a Robert Dugoni story.

Tracy Crosswhite #9

Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. Dugoni is the author of 20 novels in The Tracy Crosswhite police detective series set in Seattle, the David Sloane legal thriller series, and the Charles Jenkins espionage series. He is also the author of several standalone literary novels including The Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell and The World Played Chess as well as The Seventh Canon and The Cyanide Canary, a Washington Post best book of the year. I was introduced to this author through the Extraordinary Life of Sam Hell.
If you haven't read this author it is a must!! All of his work is exceptional.
It’s not the strongest of the series, but still delivers an enjoyable police procedural that should keep established fans happy.
4 stars

Tracy Crosswhite is like family at this point. I’m invested in her life. This author does such a great job weaving the characters that you can’t get enough. This story was nothing short of amazing. An amazing plot, twists and turns and terror with a side of emotion all wrapped into one. A rollercoaster ride with your best friends. With Tracy by your side you feel like you know you will be ok.
One heck of a story that I could not put down! Dark, gritty and heart pounding. This is a must read

Robert Dugoni does it again! I’ve been a fan of Dugoni’s for a long time and have always found his novels hard to put down. What She Found was no exception.

I’ve been reading books in Robert Dugoni’s Tracy Crosswhite series since 2014, when I first stumbled across My Sister’s Grave. I found it fascinating over the years to watch as Detective Crosswhite evolved as she worked to solve the long-cold case of her sister Sarah’s murder, then went on to other cases, along the way falling in love, getting married, having a child – and it always amazed me how Dugoni was so GOOD at writing a female protagonist without turning her into an object of any of the standards such as lust, derision, or pity.

In What She Found, #9 in the Tracy Crosswhite series, the mystery revolves around Tracy’s attempt to solve the disappearance of investigative reporter Lisa Childress. Lisa’s daughter Anita is obsessed with the case (which Tracy can surely relate to) and Lisa’s father is one of the prime suspects. He has become a pariah and now, after twenty-five years, Anita desperately wants the truth, whatever it turns out to be.

Tracy begins by reopening the potentially explosive investigations Lisa was following when she disappeared, including an exposé of public corruption, a drug task force scandal involving the Seattle PD; and a serial killer whose disappearance was as mysterious as Lisa’s.

It’s a complicated mess, and Tracy as usual does a masterful job sorting it all out. It’s impossible to say more without spoiling anything, so I’ll just say Dugoni has done it again–five stars, and thanks to Thomas & Merce and NeGalley for providing a copy in exchange for this honest review.
