Have you ever gotten so mad at a book that you didn’t know what to do?
Well, I have. But not because I didn’t like it, oh it was quite the opposite. I loved Stealing Infinity so much that I was mad that the second book is not out yet.
Alyson Noel has really outdone herself. This is the first book I have read by her, and man, I am blown away. The depth of characters, the twists and turns, she really knows how to keep a reader on their toes. Her passion burns through the pages, pulling the reader in even deeper.
I was fortunate enough to receive this ARC, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I had to force myself to put down the book in order to get work done, and craved reading it every second I couldn’t.
As a whovian, time travel fascinates me. This pleased my little Dr. Who heart, while still being so unique that it truly stands on its own. This work of art is filled with all kinds of plot twists, so much so that you think you have the pieces fitting together, only to find out that the puzzle has changed. My jaw hit the floor more than once, leaving me stunned and intrigued all at the same time.
Now onto the characters. All of the characters are deep and complex, some with stories that are hinted at and yet to be revealed. Natasha has only begun her journey, while Braxton is in the throes of his. Natasha has locked away years of her life, only for those chapters to come flooding back with the same mystery and intrigue to her as to the reader. Braxtons past remains mysterious, leading the reader to wonder if he is truly worthy of redemption. Plus, what is the deal with not only Elodie, but the mystery man that shows up near the end throwing us yet another twist? I have so many questions left that I need to know. Truly Stealing Infinity has built a new world that I have high hopes for the rest of the series.
I am so grateful to have received this ARC through NetGalley and Entangled Teen. If you have not pre-ordered your copy (I know I have, I cannot wait to get my hands on the physical book to re-read!), it releases June 28, 2022!
Stealing infinity by: Alyson Noel
5/5⭐️
Entangled published NEVER misses.
After the mysterious disappearance of her father, Natasha stops caring about school and life in general. Her whole world changed when she skips school to go to a club with the popular girl. Natasha blacks out and when she awakens she is accused of theft. The mysterious and broody Braxton bails her out of jail to invite her to a secret school; Gray Wolf Academy. The school harbors secrets and technology beyond imagination. Everyone is lying and no one is safe. Time is not what when you thought it was.
If you the Crave series by Tracy Wolff, I feel like you’ll like this.
Time travel, deception, hot British guy, and riveting writing.
This book is woven together really well. Every piece seems to be deliberately put there and I love it.
Let’s talk about the love interest. Now Braxton seems hot, but it’s giving Tracy Wolff, Jaxon Vega vibes, so we shall see. All I know is the man is hiding something and I want to pick his brain. He’s British you guys it doesn’t get better than that.
The book does not end on a cliffhanger (thank god). I know some people like short chapters and this book has short chapters!
Stealing infinity releases June 28th!
Thank you to the publisher and author for this arc!
This story drew me in and I did not want to stop reading. I loved this take on time travel.
Natasha was plucked from her old life and given a shiny new one, but this life, while having many benefits also comes with a lot of risks.
I liked the characters and world building in this book, and was as frustrated as Natasha with everyone's non-answers throughout, but especially when first getting to Gray Wolf. Just answer the questions, already!
I can't wait to read the next installment in this series. Thoroughly enjoyed this story.
"It's a game of emotional archeology and I'm one trowel jab away from unearthing his truth."
This book had me loving and hating it which is why I ended up with a 3.5/5 star rating. But lets get into the specifics.
The first third of this book was straight fire. I was intrigued, I was interested, and I was plowing right through it. There's a bit of mystery to the plot which is part of what made it so intriguing. It was like Noel was giving me just enough answers to string me along even though a million others questions were simultaneously being created. I just loved it so much!
Then at about the halfway mark, I started to get bored. Things were happening but it didn't really feel like the plot was advancing? Or maybe the action just wasn't enough for me? I'm not sure, but either way, it took a lot of effort for me to keep reading. Things picked up more after this but I had already lost some interest so it was hard to get excited about it again.
Now onto the characters of the story. Natasha is our main character and, again, I liked her at the beginning and slowly grew to dislike her. At first, she was awesome! All these crazy and, sometimes, inexplicable things were happening to her and she had to look out for herself. I feel like so many times in similar books where the main character is in a similar situation, the main character has the attitude of 'fine, I'll go along with it but I'm not going to like it.' However, Natasha was different! She wasn't just going along with things because she felt like she didn't have a choice. She was actively trying to figure things out, wasn't trusting anyone, and was actually using her head. I loved it!
But, as I mentioned, my opinion of her started to go downhill the further into the story I got. She started to have a bit of a wishy-washy attitude toward things, especially Braxton, the love interest. I really hate that my good opinion of her soiled and never really recovered.
Overall, this was book was interesting and had a lot of unique aspects, it just didn't keep up a consistent pace or interest level for me. 3.5/5 stars.
I loved how fast paced this book was. I was on the edge of my seat guessing the entire time! Cannot wait for the next book!
I received a copy thought NetGalley for review.
So some spoilers might be ahead:
read with care. I would give this a 3.5 rating.
We meet Natasha who from what I can tell, her father was also a time traveler- or Tripper. And that he died possibly on a trip and didn't return. And she's been on a downward trip ever since. Floating barely through school, a mother who has mentally checked out. She's barely holding her life together.
And her new friend Elodie Blue, popular, confident, beautiful seems like a great way to escape for at least a few hours and pretend like her life isn't as terrible as it is. And she can get lost hanging out with someone much cooler than she is.
Her friend Mason can smell a rat and warns her that "All magic has a price" and sees Elodie for what she is, beautiful poison.
And it turns out, Mason was right. When Elodie frames Natasha for theft and she finds her self suddenly bailed out by a tech billionaire, and invited to live at his exclusive academy.
An academy for time traveling thieves. They train, they study to fit into any time period, where they seduce, and loot, and pilfer from the rich. All the kids are incredibly smart, each with their own talents (although none quite like Natasha's), but they're all people that would go unnoticed should they ever go missing. The overlooked.
Arthur Blackstone- the tech billionaire has more in mind that just collecting the worlds most important artifacts, utilizing tech that is 100 years, decades above that of civilization. But he has a plan behind it all. Little wheels and cogs and pawns all moving on a board of his playing. But what exactly is the end game?
I had some issues with the plot, getting to the point. With the sort of vague alluding and flashbacks to Natasha's Unraveling ability to see through time. Like- does Arthur know it or not? Does she fully understand it? It kind of waffles between. I like the premise of Stealing Infinity. Its a little clunky for the first half. But I would read the next book.
This is a different psychological thriller. I still don't know who is good and who isn't. This has so many twists and turns that it really doesn't matter what you think you know. You are probably wrong.
The only downside for me is the instalove. I honestly don't like the main character with Braxton. It just feels wrong.
The cover of this book is incredible, and I jumped straight in when I discovered it was about time travel! Unfortunately, it missed the spot for me and I just ended up confused and quite bored for most of the book. The pacing is very strange - at times painfully slow, and at others so fast I thought I'd missed something. I didn't particularly like any of the characters and didn't really understand what most of them were supposed to be there for. It's a shame, but this just wasn't a book I enjoyed!
I received a copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
This books gives me major nostalgia! All throughout middle and high school, I was obsessed with Alyson Noel books. I remember reading every single book of her series, especially the Evermore series. Now as an adult, I feel as if Alyson Noel has adapted to her previous readers by writing a book that fits both young adults and adults who wish to go back to their teenage years once again. There was so much history and interesting new knowledge that I have learned when reading this book, and the history nerd in me secretly wishes I could travel through time. This book was an easy read and was super fast paced (maybe even a little too face paced???). I've really enjoyed the idea of the book and the ability to time travel - as well as the main character, who I liked for a majority of the book. Speaking of the MC -- I love how awesome she was! She stood up for herself, held her head up, and persevered through tough times. Her quirky attitude and spunk is what made me really enjoy reading the book. Her feministic attitude throughout the novel also gained a gold star in my book as everything she said was what every female should be saying as well. I love to see strong, independent women featured as the main characters and this book does not disappoint in that area.
Now for the critiques -- this book didn't spend too much time delving into anything and left a lot to be open ended. I understand this is leaving off for more books as this is a series but I feel like there was even too many questions left unanswered. The ending felt very rushed and I honestly couldn't even believe it was over - especially at the point it left on. You are constantly reminded in this book about the MC's father but there was barely anything mentioned about said father? Also, just the reactions of characters make this book seem unbelievable. A friend goes missing into an unknown time period with no one to get them book? Oh well! A girl is signed away by her mom to live with some random people that there isn't any information on them online? Oh well! These unbelievable reactions of characters is the only thing that made me not like the book -- these characters were very much 2D and I felt as if the author should have worked a little more on characterization.
Overall, loved the idea and thought behind the book. Alyson Noel really comes up with some creative stories that I have had the pleasure of reading throughout my years. I love being able to gain new knowledge when reading a new book. The main downside of this book is that there really isn't the fluff that I personally love that makes me fall in love with the characters themselves. This book is very much made for middle & high schoolers. It was an easy & fast paced read that I can imagine many students going through this book fast as it always left you wanting to know more. I do plan on reading the rest of the series as they come out as it left my intrigued on what is going to happen next!
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book -- they even granted it on my wish list! I didn't think that would happen but it did!
Absolutely incredible! From the very first sentence of this book I was hooked. Every time I though I knew what was happening, a new twist would come about turn my theories upside down. I truly appreciate the author’s use of history, science, alchemy, numerology, astrology, and art to weave a compelling story. I also like that almost every character is morally grey and that actions/outcomes are explored from multiple points of view so that the readers opinion of an event/character is constantly evolving as we better understand the forces that I led to those pivotal moments. In the end, I think I was left with way more questions than answers…but somehow I don’t even mind. All I want is book 2 so I can keep binging this amazing story. And maybe a really cool Netflix series.
All the twists and turns, mysteries and secrets. Stealing Infinity is a book that keeps me on the edge of my seat, literally binge read it in two sittings!
Natasha's life was turned upside down the day her father disappeared from her life.
She decided to accepts Elodie's invitation to skip school and went to a mysterious club. One moment she was in the club, but the next, Nat found herself sitting in the middle of her class and was found guilty for committed a crime (which she clearly didn't did it?). Lost and confused, Nat got kicked out and is recruited into the Gray Wolf Academy----a special school for time travelers founded by Arthur (another mysterious character), soon Natasha realised not everything and everyone in the academy can be trusted.
Overall, I love the time travelling concept. Plus Stealing Infinity is a YA Fantasy read with a blend of art, history (which I think is well researched and written)
Thank you Netgally for providing an eARC!
3.5⭐️
I received an earc in Netgalley from the publisher Entangled Teen, thank you so much for this!
Okay, where to start? I’ve been so into Alyson Noel books since high school! I really enjoyed all her books, and I loved the immortals saga so much, so I was SO excited to read this books. As always, she doesn’t disappoint!
If you love time travel stories, mysteries, romance and family memories/bonds, this one is for you!
The prologue introduces you into this mystery from Natasha’s (the main character) mom. Just the 4 first pages leave you stunned because you have no idea what’s going on! I think this is something that helped me to keep on reading this book, the suspense, the “okay, what’s going to happen now? what’s going on? who is this? WHAT?!”. Yes, i have thousands of tabs full of questions like this and I love it.
The world building, the characters, the narration from Natasha’s point of view and the emotions and feelings she tells you make you enter the story as if it were you living it. Sometimes I forgot I was just reading and not living it, and that’s something I love from a book.
Can’t wait to read Ruling Destiny to see what’s going on because the ending left me with questions… 👀
P.S: Also LOVED the bonus content! 🥰
This book was everything I love about fantasy, but with a modern twist. We have a flawed main character who has awesome growth. There is a broody handsome man who has lots of secrets. I was here for it. Alyson Noël I’m very worried what you’re going to do with my favorite couple!
This book has a modern setting, but the author blends that so seamlessly with a mysterious boarding school out of time and time travel to historical places. The historical elements about art were so interesting and I learned a lot of new things.
Overall, I highly recommend adding this book to your tbr. I need the next book asap!

Natasha lives with her mom and only has a couple friends. One is Mason. The other is a newer girl named Elodie. Natasha's dad left and her mom was never the same. While hanging out with Elodie, she goes to a club and meets a boy named Braxton. After reading tarot cards, she finds her own grave. Instead of freaking out, she laughs. Shortly after, things go blank and she wakes up the next day at school. She's called out of class and finds stolen clothes in her locker. After being in jail, she's bailed out and finds Braxton. She learns that she's been accepted into Gray Wolf Academy. Her mom already agreed and signed the papers. Because her mom gets her house fixed, a new car, and a monthly stipend, Natasha finally agrees to go. What she finds is an isolated school run by a billionaire named Arthur. She doesn't know much else except that she's the only new recruit.
Natasha starts having flashbacks to her time with her dad. She realizes that he was teaching her things that she needs to be at this school. It's a school for time travel. The students are given assignments for what they need to do when they go back in time. But if they don't get back on time, they don't come back at all. While Natasha enjoys parts of the school, she knows that there are secrets she doesn't know and some are pretty major. And she can't figure out what her dad has to do with it and why she has had these incidents into the past on her own.
This was a good first book to a series. I liked the pacing and found the tarot and numerology stuff to be fun. I'm definitely curious to see what happens in the next book.
I gave this book 4 stars.
Thank you to Entangled Teen and Netgalley for my earc.
Warnings for attempted assault, teenage drinking.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Omg I need book two now! School for time travelers a book I never new I needed but perfect in every way.
I always love fantasy books by Alison Noël and this one is no different. I love the time-travelling and I love the addition of numbers and tarot. This book was not what I expected and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!
What a roller coaster ride. Nat is so awesome. I need more from this story like soon. Nat and Braxton are so adorable. But, when Killian comes in I don’t know what to think. I don’t know what to believe now in this story. Nothing is what it seems at this academy.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC of Stealing Infinity by Alyson Noel.
I haven’t been reading many strictly YA novels lately, because honestly, I like some spice. However I really didn’t miss it here. Not to say there is no romance, there is some and maybe even a hint at a future love triangle?
The main character, Natasha, is a bit of a loser. Poor grades, few friends, negligent mom (Dad left a number of years ago). So when she is given an opportunity to attend the mysterious Grey Wolf Academy after suspiciously being busted for a crime she doesn’t recollect committing, she accepts (grudgingly).
The Academy is run by an enigmatic billionaire who provides little in the way of explanation of why she was chosen to attend. We soon come to discover that Arthur has found a way to time travel and collects kids whom society won’t miss, to do his bidding. They collect famous art, trinkets, jewels, etc. so it’s basically a time travelling theft ring.
There’s lots of mystery surrounding Arthur’s motivations at this point. Also, what is happening with the kids who don’t return? And what happened to Nat’s dad? I have a theory, but don’t want to spoil it at this point.
The supporting cast is pretty strong - Braxton is dreamy, but definitely keeping secrets. Elodie is dangerous and Killian is a big question mark.
I found the plot moved really well and sucked me in from the beginning. It made for a quick read. I liked how she developed most of her characters, though I did think it was a bit too ‘insta-love’ for Braxton and Nat to be making out so quickly after she was hating on him. I also thought the book ended rather abruptly and without a seamless lead up to book 2 - there were lots of questions, but no shocking cliff hanger.
All in all, great to start to a cool, new series. Looking forward to the next instalment!
This was such an awesome book! It's so nice and easy to read and I enjoyed the story and the characters a lot. I love the whole concept of time traveling and this book revolves around it!
Stealing Infinity by Alyson Noël is the first book of Stolen Beauty. The book follows Natasha, whose life changes dramatically when she meets a mysterious boy named Braxton after skipping school to go to a club with her friend Elodie. Natasha is kicked out of school and now attends Gray Wolf Academy, which is a school on an island completely off the grid. Natasha is surprised to learn that the school is for time travellers. At the new school, Natasha and Braxton continue to connect. But Natasha knows he is keeping secrets from her.
This story is very fast-paced and mysterious. Natasha’s perspective is intriguing to read from, and I liked the time travel elements of the story.
