Thank you so much entangled teen for providing me with this amazing ARC. While this isn't my normal read it kept my attention and was very entertaining. I'm not normally a series reader but I'm
Actually looking forward to book 2.
The characters were relatable and the speed was nice and steady. For the first time in forever I'm looking forward to "watching" the characters grow
While i appreciate the small chapters I feel like there could have been fewer ,but it didn't take away from the story.
This book had amazing dark academia vibes and seemed roll off the page. I especially liked the beginning of the story where the author is asking readers to find out their numerology number.

First of all I really enjoyed this book. The development of the story had me hooked on what was going to happen next. From the start to the the end I was wonder what Natasha would do. However there was a lot of information that I had to get through and that really was a let down. But it was a good book and the author made great character development from a scared high schooler to a full-fledged time traveler. Over all a great book.
Stealing Infinity was absolutely enchanting! Noel wrote a story that was so well written I found myself flying through the pages, unable to put the book down, pondering what would happen next. My favorite piece of this entire story was how believable the characters were.
The writing is clear and clean, and very immersive. The book hums along at a good clip, but the pacing makes sure we're given time to breathe between plot-intensifying moments. The story was absolutely engaging and the work that went into the settings was noticeable and superb. I felt absolutely transported and I'm so incredibly glad I was able to read an arc of this story
Alyson Noel is one of my favorite authors and her Immortal series made a lasting impression on my heart and soul. Stealing Infinity is a wild ride. I don't usually like time travel in books, it's not my favorite trope, but Alyson really wrote it into her story so well. If you like Alyson Noel's writing style in her other books, you will love this one too. This fast paced novel will trap you inside and have you traveling right alongside the heroine.
Please check your trigger warnings: neglect, attempted SA.
Thank you NetGalley for the review.
Thank you to Entangled Publishing for the eARC! I was really looking forward to reading this book as I loved the premise, and it had such great potential. I loved the idea of having a magical school with time-travelers, and I was excited to get back into the magical school trope as it's something I haven't read in a while. Unfortunately, this book ended up disappointing me a lot, and I had to DNF it at 40%.
The book started off pretty good for the first quarter, and it seemed exciting and full of promise. It definitely kept me in lots of suspense, and I was excited to see where it would go. But as I went further and further into the novel, I lose interest in it, and the plot wasn't enough to keep me going. It felt messy, and it seemed that there wasn't really any goal in mind, and many times, the story felt very cliche. There were a lot of tropes that I didn't enjoy, one of which being the 'chosen on' trope. It was extremely slow and confusing as well, and many times, I found myself confused on what was going on and failed to see the point in many scenes. I also wish the plot focused a lot more on exploring the school since that was what made me pick up the book, and I wanted to see things like magical classes, or academic rivalry, or even what student life was like there, but I got none of that. From what I read up to, it mainly consisted of Natasha being left out because she was new and the romance between Braxton and Natasha.
Now the characters are what really turned me off. Natasha was a very annoying, almost Wattpad-like main character. She wasn't complex, didn't have any flaws, and didn't give me any reason to root for her. I felt like she was very much a Mary-Sue, and was just too perfect. She would randomly figure things out out of the blue and would be randomly good at things no normal teenager would be good at. It felt so unrealistic and for that I couldn't connect with her at all. Instead of seeing all her struggles and focusing on things like her fears, desires and goals, her internal monologue mainly consisted of her attraction to Braxton. Similarly to Natasha, I felt like Braxton's character wasn't going anywhere either. I liked his character at first as he seemed like a character I would like to get to know. But honestly, he became very unmemorable, and he didn't have much of a personality, except for his constant flirtations.
The romance was not very well-written either. Natasha and Braxton's relationship consisted purely of physical attraction, and before they actually got to know each other well, they almost kiss. Natasha constantly describes how good looking he is instead of talking about his personality, or who he is as a person. I was not a fan of the insta-love and was hoping for more of a slowburn romance as it would have been much more realistic. I wish they had more vulnerability with each other and I wish they helped each other grow before they started to get together. The sexual tension was minimal and written in a very cringy way. I also think that the romance took too much away from the plot, as it seems more like a subplot. Natasha would constantly be thinking about Braxton and her attraction to him instead of the actual school and the whole mystery behind it.
I'm saddened to express my disappointment in this book as I was so looking forward to read it, but it just did not meet my standards. Again, thank you to Entangled publishing and Netgalley for the eARC. All opinions are my own.
This wasn't a bad start to a new series, pulling me in with time travel and a secret academy setting. Though the pacing is fairly quick, I did feel like it took until halfway through to really start the plot. Before then were glimpses of something going on, but mostly Nat getting to the academy and almost immediately falling for Braxton. Do we have to have a love interest so quickly? Especially since it follows the trope of said crush having a mean ex-girlfriend for the main character to contend with.
The story mentions a lot of priceless art and if art history interests you, this is something you'll want to check out. I'm not a big fan, but I did like the time travel parts and all the suspicious things going on. I'm intrigued about people's true motives and how Nat's abilities actually work. I'm hoping the sequel also develops the other characters more, since for now they seem one-dimensional.
If you're a fan of the author's previous works, you'll likely enjoy this YA fantasy.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All opinions are my own. Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the copy
Stealing Infinity is about a school of time-traveling thieves, Natasha and the students of Gray Wolf Academy swiftly race against time and steal historical artifacts for the school’s famous and elusive “headmaster”. While on a journey to another time and place, the students make sure their times don’t cross. Otherwise, they cease to exist.
Who can Natasha trust? Can anyone at Grey Wolf Academy be trusted?
I questioned the integrity of every character.
Alyson Noel creates a strange and unique world that easily catapults me into the story! This is an excellent book to read and great to unwind with after work. Stealing Infinity is easy to keep pace even when I had a lot going on around me.
The novel is very fast paced with short chapters and a complex, twisted plot. I love it! It’s a very edge of your seat, what’s going to happen next kind of story. This is a quick, fun YA SFF book!
Although, there are a few parts throughout that confused me due to the book being so mysterious. I wish I had more answers after reading 400 pages. The school began as a mystery for the reader and remains a puzzle. I am excited for book two!
Thank you to Entangled Teen and Netgalley for this amazing e-ARC.
Action, intrigue and a touch of romance intermingle with time travel to make an exciting read, which is hard to put down.
Nat's got a tough life, trying to help her mother pay bills while attending school. When a friend convinces her to skip class and go to a club, things race out of control. Convicted of a crime she didn't commit, Nat finds herself at the Gray Wolf Academy, where secrets flood every hallway. She's unable to make friends except with one guy, who's not telling more than he wants to. She knows something's up but has larger problems to deal with as she suspects that there's more to the school than meets the eye.
If you're a fan of academy settings (especially mysterious, secretive ones), time travel, tough girls, and dangerous plots, this will be right down your lane. It starts out with a thrust into Nat's life, who gains sympathy as she does her best to make everything work. Her bad decision is irritating, but everything else about her makes her hard not to root for as she struggles against so much garbage. When the book swings into the academy, there's an interesting twist, which keeps it from growing cliche. Also, Nat has a head and tries to use it as she's navigating the academy and tries to figure out what's going on. There's a quick pace the entire way through and unexpected moments to keep those pages turning.
Then, there's the relationships and characters. Nat is interesting and while she stumbles here and there, she remains a gripping character until the end. The others are touch and go. Some have a bit of depth but others don't. So, if you're into character driven reads, this has some of that but leans much more toward the action.
Even the romance isn't smooth...but it just might be that way intentionally. The love interest keeps a lot of his intentions and goals hidden, and the chemistry suffers because of that. But there are other possibilities in the starting lines on that front. It just depends on where this series goes.
This is an exciting read with tons of mystery and interesting directions. It definitely entertains and does set things up nicely for the rest of the series. I received an DRC and loved the action from start to finish
Stealing Infinity by Alyson Noel is about 18 year old Nat who has been kicked out of high school and is now going to Grey Wolf Academy. Nat has a rare gift and the school says they want to help her use it but their intentions aren't what they seem!
It's a fast paced read with a few twists that leave the reader guessing. There's time traveling and a mysterious school that has plenty of people keeping secrets! Nat I'd a great character and the changes she goes through personally were probably one of my favorite things! The plot is complex with lots of layers. The descriptions are rich and vivid! Overall it is an entertaining and intriguing story!
Thank you to the publisher for granting my wish!
I figured Stealing Infinity would be up my alley—time travel, hello?! Sadly, this just didn’t work for me. I didn’t really like any of the characters and never really connected with the story. After about 45% I lost interest and ended up skimming. Super bummed that I didn’t enjoy this like I’d hope.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Noel crafted a world filled with well-developed characters. Natasha was the kind of strong female character that should be in YA lit. Also, the story is fast-paced and grabbed me from the beginning. Adding to that is a slow burn that turns into a sizzling romance. I can't wait to read the sequel next year.
How do you know a book truly seduced you? You start dreaming about it! I guess that was my penance for not staying up all night to finish it right away. I'm slightly behind on some of my other reviews but the moment I finished reading Stealing Infinity I put everything else aside to share my thoughts and many many feelings on this most recent FAVORITE! I absolutely loved so many things about this book and though its publishing date is not until tomorrow you better believe I already added publication date for the next one in the series to my calendar.
Natasha is a high-schooler full of angst, anger at her dad's abandonment and feeling rather hopeless about her future. The only bright moments come from spending time with her best friend Mason, day dreaming of high fashion and drinking fancy lattes in exotic locales. Mason is not a big fan of Natasha's other friend, the super popular Elodie who somehow has the uncanny ability to lead Natasha on (mis)adventures. A series of "forced" choices land her at a mysterious, secluded Gray Wolf Academy. As she is trying to find her footing in the new environment, she also must navigate her confusing attraction to tall, dark and handsome Braxton and figure out just how dangerous her new life might be.
I loved this new world Alyson Noel dreamed up. Natasha is a perfectly imperfect heroine whose journey will have you feeling all the feels. There is a bit of adventure, a bit of fantasy, some intrigue, a bit of romance and lots of chemistry. And a bit of art, history and numerology for good measure! All the ingredients necessary to make this such a thrilling read. This book is perfect for fans of YA fantasy but also for anyone looking for a beautifully written, perfectly paced, entertaining and engaging new read. I am so happy this is a series because I can't wait to find out what happens next!
Sidenote: 2022 is a year of absolutely stunning book covers - this one is so pretty I got excited about reading this story just based on that alone!
Grateful to NetGalley and Entangled Teen for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review!
I feel like I’m teetering on the edge of something huge and I LOVE it! I was glued to the pages, questioning what’s real, who can I trust, and what hidden agendas are at play all while enjoying the time travel elements, dark academia setting and high school clique-ish drama. Natasha does take a couple of chapters to warm up to her and unanswered questions abound, but I found it added to the excitement and anticipation. I also loved the bonus material like the Numerology and Facts sections. If you love unraveling riddles, time travel and dark academia (and you don’t mind my vague review so as not to spoil anything), this is your read! I can’t wait for book 2!
Okay but how is this book THATTTT good? It’s unfair.
I fell into Natasha’s world from chapter 1 and was enthralled by every moment. I could not put this book down.
This is exactly what my favorite YA fantasy books are made of: intrigue, excitement, mystery, magical elements, a dash of wonder and a little bit of romance. Definitely one for the ages.
I can’t even say a single bad thing about this book except for I am pissed it isn’t out until Tuesday, because that means I have so long to wait for the 2nd one. Damn you, @alyson_noel and @entangledteen !!!
In all seriousness, please go get this Tuesday because I need someone other than @robin_hereforindiebooks to talk to about it, since she reads so fast she doesn’t remember anything. 😭😭
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the eARC.
I used to love reading books by Alyson Noel in high school. The Evermore books were literally part of my childhood. So getting to read her most recent book is an absolute honour.
I liked the book. It did read very YA, which makes sense because it is. The book follows Natasha, who is attending a super secretive private school where everyone is keeping secrets. The only person she can sort of trust is Braxton, who, unsurprisingly, is also keeping lots of secrets. Natasha also has a gift, one she has to learn to control and try her best to do anything to keep her spot at the school.
The plot was definitely intriguing. YA and time travel? It was relatively fast-paced and enjoyable to read. I loved the whole premise and the private school setting. It definitely transported me back to my teenage years again, being on the edge of my seat and waiting to see what will unfold next for our sassy, courageous main character. The only downside of the book was the writing, which felt a little juvenile. The first person narration didn't help either. And some of the characters, like Braxton, felt a bit too one-dimensional. The romance was quite lack-luster too.
Overall, I'd give this a 3 out of 5. Great plot and gorgeous cover, but the writing could have used a bit more editing.
Happy Tuesday y'all and happy release day to Stealing Infinity by Alyson Noël! I'm always super excited when I find a book about time travel, so I was really excited by the premise of this book, and while there were moments of brilliance, overall, I was a little disappointed.
Stealing Infinity 3/5 Stars
Summary from Goodreads:
These days, I’ve been killing it when it comes to letting people down. Now I’ve been kicked out of high school, arrested, and accepted into a remote, off-the-grid school owned and operated by an inscrutable billionaire tech guru.
Gray Wolf Academy is looking for a certain kind of student. Ones that no one will miss. Like me.
Then there’s Braxton. The beautiful, oddly anachronistic guy who showed up right when the trouble started. And he’s a total enigma—which means that I definitely can’t trust him, even if there’s something about him that makes me want to.
They all tell me I have a gift. A very rare gift. And Gray Wolf Academy wants me to learn it. To use it. Because if what they say is true, I have all the time in the world.
And that makes me the most dangerous high school student you’ll never know…
Man, y'all- I really wanted to like this book, but I just couldn't do it. It felt more like it should have been the prequel to a series or something, because right when I felt like the plot was starting or something was happening, the book was over. I really liked the idea of Gray Wolf Academy and it being a boarding school for time travellers. The whole sweatshirt thing was weird and honestly kind of unnecessary. I really didn't like Braxton or Elodie, but I liked some of the side characters and I loved the production that went into each episode of time travelling. I'm really excited to see where things go in book two because I think there was a lot of promise in this concept and if this book had been combined with another book where there was actually a plot (because let's be real, I'm having a really hard time getting a real plot out of this book at the moment), I think it could have been amazing.
This is one of those books you look at, see there are 131 chapters and think: oh my god, how? In truth, it flows so well and is a light read, despite the clear mystery hiding in every detail.
In a way, it reminded me of Kerstin Gier's Ruby Red trilogy, which I loved, but Stealing Infinity is also very much different.
Natasha, Nat, Tasha's adventure begins with deception, and soon she finds herself whisked off to a hidden island, to a boarding school of sorts. Too bad the kids there are taught about fencing, horse riding, and etiquette. Oh, yes, all you need to travel in time.
The setting gives off glamorous dark academia vibes, and by glamorous I mean there's an abundance of designer clothes and sparkly jewels… and stolen art.
Since the very beginning, since the prologue, you just know there's something shady about time travel, about Grey Wolf Academy and its director, but can't quite point it out. As you fly through the book - yes, fly - you gather more pieces to the puzzle you try to fit together but always see there are several missing ones. It’s frustrating, but that’s what keeps you with your nose buried in the pages.
Whereas the book seems more plot-driven than character-driven, you do meet peculiar characters, ones you want to decipher and know more about. I still want to know more about Natasha, whose growth in this first book is slow but present; I want to discover all the secrets she’s hiding even to herself. Besides, for now, she doesn’t seem your typical YA heroine, or what I deem so, since never once did I want to smack her in the face lol
Another character I need to know more about is Elodie. She’s your wannabe/self-appointed Queen Bee, yet she lives on the edge of a blade: she’s either the bitchy villain Natasha thinks she is, or the golden character who will reveal her true colors as the story goes on.
Among a very interesting cast of characters, I must introduce you all to Braxton: trust me, you’ll want to meet him.
Much like Elodie, but probably more like Natasha, you know you need to unlock his past, to discover the truths he hides behind his own self-loathing. Yes, I live for characters like him, no questions asked. Plus, the story between him and Natasha is so soft and pure on each side, I just want to wrap them in a blanket and protect them from the world!
Each of the protagonists, as well as the story itself, is like a cryptex you want to unlock and peer inside of, which is one of the major reasons why I’ll be not so patiently waiting for the sequel!

Synopsis:
Natasha was once the stereotypical popular girl, until the day her dad walked out of her life. In a spiraling decline, her mother becomes listless and absent, her social life is almost non-existent, and she just can’t bring herself to care that she’s failing in school.
Then a new girl arrives at school. Meet Elodie: the girl everyone wants to be or be with, dazzling the entire school in her flashy confidence. And for some reason, Elodie seems genuinely interested in being Nat’s friend, despite everything that should suggest otherwise. Behind Elodie’s mysterious nature, their friendship has strings attached.
Nat is given the opportunity to attend an elite, remote boarding school, funded by a recluse, tech billionaire. Grey Wolf Academy is both everything and nothing as it seems. Nat must navigate this new chapter in her life all while under the mentorship of Braxton who, as much as she is attracted to, she knows she shouldn't trust him. While trying to discover the secrets of her father’s past she begins to learn more about the rare gift she possesses, and that the academy wants to use her for.
Review:
I loved Natasha from the very beginning, her personality and the narrative voice is super relatable. Readers get an intricate look into her home life and the events of her past and how they have affected her and shifted her motivations.
The author also has great insight into the lows of high school drama and what it feels like to be a teen, which creates an emotional connection to the characters in the universal need to belong and feel accepted.
The sense of foreboding from the very beginning grapples readers into a story full of mystery and intrigue.
The historical accuracy of the art and culture is an exciting point of interest that makes the story truly immersive.
The sequence of the events is expressed in vivid detail that transports you into time and place.
Grey Wolf Academy is the newest fictional school we all wish we could go to.
I really enjoyed the short, quick-win chapters. In a genre (fantasy) that typically has lengthy, dense chapters, this was very refreshing and kept me turning the pages.
The writing style and crafting of these chapters was such that each chapter felt significant to the plot as a whole, but also had its own complete and fulfilling arc, with hooks at the end to keep me wanting to find out what happens next.
Chapter length may seem an insignificant consideration to some, but it actually played a large role in my enjoyment of the story.
I only have a few “negative” remarks, but none of which seriously detracted from my experience with this story. There are a few places where I felt things were rushed and could have been fleshed out more, which lowered the level of believability for me in certain aspects.
Particularly with some of the twists, the build up was perfect but the reveals were over and moved on from in a flash. And in some instances, without giving spoilers, I’ll just say that information presented felt random with no lead up.
The only other thing is that I did kind of expect the protagonist to have a little stronger of a reaction to certain events and revelations, which made her seem unrealistic sometimes.
Regardless, this is definitely an exciting start to a new series.
With the slow-build adventures and developments, I can only imagine how much more is to come.
This is a series I don’t see fizzling out in future installments.
I think we’ve just barely begun this wild ride.
Fun fast paced read that kept me on edge after each chapter. Although I wasn't the biggest fan of certain relationships between characters, I did love the plot of the story and the idea of time travelling heist really intrigued me. I was hooked into the book more towards the 2nd half and I am excited to read future books. I've never looked into taro cards and it's references in the book was interesting, I didn't feel like it was overdone or info dumped in weird moments of the book. Although the chapters of the books were short it and made it feel like the plot progressed fast sometime it felt like I was moved through the book to fast and was jumping from scene to scene.
Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I received this eARC through Entangled Teen @entangledteen
I throughly enjoy this book and I’m SO happy that book 2 is already planned for a release early next year - only a 7 month wait. Still too long, but at least it’s not a full year before the next release.
Stealing Infinity is described as a “DaVinci Code meets Riverdale”. I will add that it also has a little Caraval and Alice in Wonderland feel where you don’t know what is real and what is just a game or a facade.
I was immediately immersed into the world. A little dark academia, a little Sci-Fi, a little high school “cool club” drama mixed together with some historical art and culture references.
There are so many unanswered questions- I can’t wait for book 2 to find out if Braxton and someone else (no spoilers) really are who they portray. I trust them about as much as Natasha does at this point. And what is Natasha’s father’s role in all of this?
I can’t wait to see what the tarots cards and planets say about the future (or past) of Gray Wolf Academy.
