I'm kinda sad that the series is over with, because I've enjoyed each one and this one is no exception. Pilar must rush back home to Brazil, after getting a call from her grandmother saying she's dying. When Pilar gets back, she discovers something sinister is happening to the residents, her grandmother included. While she searches die answers, Yoshi, brother to her closest friend, David, honors his brothers reques to help Pilar find out the perpetrators and end their reign of terror on the local residents for good, and in the mean time, start to develop feelings for each other.

Thus was such an emotional read. There were some parts that made me chuckle (Mia, I'm in the same boat as well) and some parts that will have you hoping for this type of love and attraction.

I recieved a copy of the book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts and opinions

Queen of Bahia by Erica B. Davis and Kadesha Powell is book nine in the nine book Queens of the Castle standalone series.

Pilar Silva is a Brazilian-African American beauty in the prime of her life. She isn’t necessarily looking for love, but it may have found her anyway. It may not have been love at first sight, but it was certainly lust at first sight.

I haven’t previously read anything from either author but enjoyed their work here. The transition between authors was seamless. Both lead characters were strong with complete background details. The plot kept my attention throughout the story. There’s plenty of action and the writing flows well.
Queen of Bahia is an excellent collaboration. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars and recommend to anyone who enjoys multicultural romance and/or romantic suspense.

My thanks to Macro Publishing Group and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

Who says chivalry is dead? A selfless act is the first step on a perilous journey where power is an illusion and love, and lives are at stake. This is page turner that kept me up all night to find out what happened next. I was blown away by the ending. I'm not one to give spoilers so be sure to pick up your copy. You won't be disappointed.

I have seen the future of fiction. Their names are Erica B. Davis and Kadesha Powell!

I had high hopes for this book after reading the synopsis, but I ended up disappointed. The story felt rushed and a bit disjointed. There were lots of interesting ideas and little details about the main and supporting characters, but nothing felt fully fleshed out.

An amazing story from beginning to end. This book may have you tearing up one minute and fanning your self the next. I just wish the Author would have went into more about Pila’r and Yoshi. Khalil and the Kings of the Castle have made great choices when recruiting the Knights, Queens and others that work closely with them they all make and awesome team. I recommend this book and all others in the Castle series. Please check out Kings of the Castle, Knights of the Castle and all of the beautiful Queens of the Castle. Happy Reading everyone!

What a terrific last book in the Queens Of The Castle series. Pilar, 30, is on her way back to Bahia, Brazil to assist her grandmother. She has been away for years because of her mother's death. Now she reunites with her Avo, oldest sister, Rita, and middle sister, Maya.

Prior to the reunion, she meets a man at a masquerade ball held by the King of the Castle, Khalil. No names, cellphones, or unmasking keeps her guessing at who the "Mickey" to her "Minnie" is. Meet cute accomplished.

She meets Yoshi on her way home to Brazil, and he helps her get back to her Avo. Aw!!! Once she is back, she finds situations and people she once knew are now quite different. Her grandmother (Avo) is sick as are so many others in her neighborhood. There is also the largest carnival in the world going on. Time to party and an addition to the suspense. Her older sister Rita seems to have let herself go and has a gambling problem.

The romance worked so well in this one, though there is no sex. I loved the chemistry between them. The suspense was balanced with the romance. Although, I thought there might have been more with the "snake".

Overall a really good read that had me from page 1 to the end.

Note: I received an advance reading copy from NetGalley. I enjoyed it enough to purchase it too.

She decides to investigate along with a new friend/admirer Yoshi to get to the bottom of this deadly mystery. Someone is trying to kill her, can Yoshi keep her safe? Highly recommended

What a way to end a series! Kadesha & Erica kept me on the edge of my seat in suspense on every page.
Pilar is the perfect heroine. As they reveal the depth of their character, I couldn't put the book down. I enjoyed reading every minute of it.

The book is well written and brought me to Brazil. I have never been to Brazil but had a chance to experience the environment by reading the book. The characters are well developed, the Japanese character, Yoshi, is awesome. I hope his character is continued in future series books. Otherwise, it’s an enjoyable and relaxing read.

In Queen of Bahia, Pilar returns to Brazil because of her ailing grandmother. When she arrives home, she’s thrust into the middle of a puzzle. Why are the people in Salvador falling in from the water supply?

With the help of a thoughtful and charming scientist, Pilar unravels the mystery surrounding the community. The love among most of the family members is palpable and the romance is tastefully done.

Queen of Bahia provides a page-turning read that will keep you engaged as you figure out why and whodunnit.

Queen of Bahia is the 9th book in the Queen of the Castle series. I have enjoyed reading this series. Queen of Bahia is a quick page-turner. This was my first time reading this author and she did not disappoint. The suspense was great and you didn't know who you could really trust in this story. I love the relationship between Pilar, Avo, and Maya. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author.

I can honestly say that this book had me on the edge of my seat from the moment I started reading it until the last word on the final page!!!
Pilar is determined to find out who is poisoning the water Bahia which is making people including her grandmother sick. She doesn't trust easily but knows that she must place her trust in Yoshi Tanaka's expertise if she wants to get to the bottom of what is happening.
This story has so many twists and turns and while they search for answers Pilar and Yoshi also find themselves navigating unknown dangers and battling the growing attraction between the two of them.
This was an absolutely wonderful story. Well done to the author!!!

This is the final book in the “Queens Of The Castle Series”. There is sibling drama, evil childhood friend, mystery, suspenseful, and romance. These queens are a force to be reckoned with. Pilar Silva is a pint sized dynamic woman. She and Derek are working on a team for Khalil Germaine in Chicago. Pilar gets a call from her grandmother Avo to return home because she is dying and wants her to return home. Pilar mothers died and her father brought her to the US to raise her leaving behind two sisters Rita who is the oldest and Maya who is a middle sister.

Pilar stumbles up a serious water problem and Derek’s brother Yoshi who is a Hydrologist arrives to help her figure out what is going on. The two met previous at the castle at a masked party. Once Yoshi and Pilar continue to talk and spend time together; they soon discover they are Minnie and Mickey from the masked party.

I received an ARC via NetGalley and Naleighna Kai; and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

Pilar Silva may be petite in stature, but what she lacks in size she makes up for in tenacity.

A call from her beloved grandmother has her visiting Brazil where she stumbles on trouble with the water system.
She teams up with an Hydrologist to clear up the situation and encounters evil among friends and family.

Get your copy and find out how the story unfolds.

Like the other Queens, Pilar, is a force to be reckoned with. A great addition to the Castle series.
