Superficial mamas and daughters makes this neighborhood like an episode of the Real Housewives!
Ginny and her daughter Harri are in for a real surprise trying to fit into their new neighborhood after moving in with Jeff. Ginny's new husband. So many drama filled events with the neighbors left me as the reader wondering how much else could possibly go wrong.
The ridiculous over the top people in this book definitely add some humor.
Of course some sweet family moments happen to balance the crazy throughout.
I listened to the audiobook version of this book and the narrator was fantastic. Her voices for some of the women and daughters seemed spot on and helped to imagine them in real life.
This was a light and fun book that kept my interest and kept me rooting for Ginny to stand up to the superficial moms.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for providing a copy of this Audiobook for my honest review.

Ginny is a single mom with an 11 year old daughter named Harri. Ginny is recently married to Jeff and moves into the house he used to share with his ex-wife.
This book reminds me a little of Gilmore Girls. The mom/daughter unit trying to blend a new man into the mix. They also have to deal with all the neighborhood drama which reminds me of small town life but much more pretentious. Most of the neighborhood is playing a game of keeping up with the Joneses which Ginny has absolutely no desire to play.
Thanks to Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to read this Advanced Copy!

Welcome to the Neighborhood is a fun audiobook to listen to. I listened to this book on my way to a training and let me tell you it helped pass the time. I was so sucked into what was happening! I definitely recommend this book!

Cute, fluffy light reading. Since it was listed in romance and women's lit I think l expected a slightly stronger love storyline but overall still enjoyable, would recommend to the over 30s crowd.

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the audio version. Really enjoyed this book from a new author I have never read from before. So after looking the author up I guess this is her first book. I listened to the audiobook in 24 hours and enjoyed the story. I hope this author continues the story or a break off with other characters? Highly recommend. The only think I was not happy with was the language was really strong and unnecessary. The narrator did a great job!

This was a pretty cute read! It’s partly coming of age (for the daughter in the book), but mostly just fiction with a focus on the mother/daughter relationship as the daughter, Harri, handles a new school with new dynamics.
I listened to an audio ARC and I enjoyed the narration. The story for me was fine but didn’t blow me out of the water. It just seemed like a normal, almost hallmark-esque story with how everything was tied up in the end and how dramatic the neighborhood was.
Overall it was a cute, easy read!

I voluntarily listened to and reviewed an advanced copy of this audiobook. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley & Dreamscape Media!
Ginny is a single mom to an eleven year old daughter, Harri. After a whirlwind romance, she marries Jeff who moves her and Harri into his large home in an upscale neighborhood. Ginny and her daughter are left to learn the ins and outs of handling the cliquey moms and their daughters, when Jeff is called away on business.
While there is love and relationships in this book, I don't think I would necessarily consider it a romance novel. The main storyline surrounds Ginny and her journey to make a better life for her daughter. She doesn’t marry Jeff for his money/position but wants to use their new surroundings to help Harri. Ginny has such a beautiful, caring spirit. I really appreciate the realistic way the author wrote about Ginny’s relationship with her daughter. Jeff is sweet, maybe a little naive, but he seems to genuinely care for both his new wife and her daughter. The neighbors show that you really can’t judge someone by their outward appearance. You never know what they may be dealing with.
In spite of the “reality tv” plot, Welcome To the Neighborhood is a heartwarming novel of second chances.
As far as the audiobook, I did like the narrator. Her voice sounds young but Ginny is described as having a bubbly, quirky personality so I think that fits well.

Thank you Net Galley for an audio ARC of Welcome to the Neighborhood by Lisa Roe. This was an enjoyable audiobook. It is a Mother/Daughter story, the Mother marries and moves into a house in the New Jersey supberbs. And chaos erupts.

This was an entertaining mother-daughter, fish out of water story, as Ginny formerly a single mother and artist from Queens, moves to New Jersey suburbia to live with her new husband. Thrust into small town catty cliques of the PTA moms, Ginny tries to fit in for the sake of her daughter but neither is able to find acceptance with these mean moms and their daughters.
There are a few funny moments and some poignant mother-daughter/friend moments. This is definitely more women's fiction than romance. Ginny's husband Jeff leaves for Ireland shortly after Ginny moves in, leaving her to survive on her own. Luckily Ginny does befriend a kind old widower.
Great on audio narrated by Emma Love. This debut is perfect for fans of Gilmore Girls or Big little lies. Much thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for my advance review copy in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are my own.
