Just a fun book about a couple you are rooting for even before you know what will happen. I enjoyed that Jenna didn’t let things stop her and Henry was the perfect foil for her and her adventure.
Love You From A-Z by Linda Corbett was a beautiful debut read! Absolute delightful romantic comedy. It will leave you feeling all warm and tingly. Did I mention there are guinea pigs!?! HAHA! You'll have to read to learn about them. The mix of characters are fun and always something happening among them. Highly recommend this read and I look forward to more from this author.
I was really looking forward to reading this book, however, when I opened my mobile, the book
had disappeared.
What a pity!
I only downloaded it on June 15th!!!!
Good luck with the book.
This is a really charming story. Jenna is a very intelligent, confident, strong-willed heroine whose disability (one leg is shorter than the other) doesn't define her but is just a part of her. It is refreshing the way Linda Corbett writes about the character in this way where the character's disability is not the primary focus of the story. It makes the character so much more than her disability someone to be admired and not pitied.
Henry is really a good guy. He is so sweet and caring not only for Jenna but for her sister, Evie, Evie's partner, and their guinea pig rescue farm as well. The other major characters in the story, Jenna's sweet and sensitive sister, Evie, and her tough but tender-hearted mate, Kat, her equally as likable.
The major conflict between the two main characters, Jenna and Henry is brief and resolved fairly easily. The resolution does involve a heart-stoppingly romantic train station scene worthy of the best rom-com. All in all, it's a very appealing book especially if you love a good romance.
I enjoyed this book and loved the setting of it set round the Guinea pig sanctuary
thanks to the publisher and netgalley for the arc of this book
I wish the author all the best with this book

This book was just what I needed right now: heart-warming, cosy read with loveable characters in all shapes and sizes. Jenna is someone who is organised and risk-averse, and that isn't a bad thing, but her current partner and situation keep putting her in precarious situations that she has little control over. She chose him because she thought they shared the same goals in life, and they kind of do but in different ways so it doesn't quite work.
Despite not linking these risky situations, one of them propels Jenna's life in a completely different, and very positive, direction because she meets Henry. Henry is confident, and adventurous, but also potentially secure and stable. Is Henry her fun for now, or her happily ever after?
From here we are whisked off on a mini-adventure as Jenna works out what she really wants for herself and is pushed outside of her comfort zone. This adventure includes magical forests, dawn champagne breakfasts in castle ruins, and furry friends in the form of her sister's guinea pig rescue.
I really enjoyed reading about Jenna and her conflicting feelings around security and stability, but also the want for romance and adventure. Jenna's worries come from a childhood that was less than stable and the fact that she has a disability and more often than not you can't throw caution to the wind, things have to be pre-planned. I appreciated the representation as someone who suffers from a chronic illness with chronic pain accompanying it, and knowing how much that influences so many decisions, sometimes keeping you stuck somewhere because change can be really scary on top of everything else.
Corbett has created a beautiful character in Jenna that showcases how full someone's life can be with a disability rather than being someone that needs looking after all the time. It really cheered me up after a rough time with my own condition recently.
Verdict: Heartwarming, cosy, with great disability representation. Definitely a good pick for comfort or to get you out of a reading slump.
A cute romantic story of sorts, but not really my kind of book. It will appeal to many readers, I’m sure. It’s a perfect holiday read, light and undemanding. Just not for me.
My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my advance copy of this book.
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book. Jenna is content in her life. She no longer believes in prince charming. She finds a letter in a storage bin that a friend purchased. She decides to go on an adventure to figure out who Henry could be. This was a quick read.
Jenna's boyfriend Matt buys a storage unit at an auction and attempts to sell whatever he finds inside. Jenna finds a box containing a letter to the previous owner, which she feels she should try to return. She contacts the man who wrote the letter and romance ensues. I think I must have misunderstood the plot of this when I requested it, because it is not my typical genre and I expected the letter Jenna found to be something old that sent her on a mystery rather than a fairly recent letter that sent her into a new relationship, but oh well. My mistake. The book was decent though. One thing I liked was that Jenna had a minor disability but it felt like more of a side thing that just was part of her rather than who she was. I've read too many books lately that seem to be trying to be inclusive but come off just the opposite when they have to identify everyone by their ethnicity or sexual orientation or disability or whatever and it's like, great, you managed to fit 35 minorities in the book and make me feel like that's all that matters about that character. So progressive. Anyway, this didn't feel like that regarding Jenna's disability, so that was nice. 3 stars.
I have never read a book where a character has a disability, and Linda has written this book well and with compassion. Nor have I read a book where guinea pigs appear and the two combine well. A lovely read and wish I could award a few more stars.
This was a lovely easy chick lit read. Jenna must have the most boring job and boring relationship I’ve ever read about and the phrase “old before her time” springs to mind. However from her mundane life springs the opportunity to go further and do things she never dreamed possible. This book takes us through Jenna’s daily life and that of her sister Evie and her girlfriend Kat. The latter two run a Guinea pig sanctuary so there are fluffy animals thrown into the mix. The upshot is a gentle romp which will never light any fires, more likely to smoulder under the coals.
A feel good read with a very likeable main character. Jenna, who hasn't had the best of luck in life reaches out to reunite some items with Henry. Before she knows it she is emotionally attached to the guinea pig rescue centre. You just know Jenna deserves better both at work and at home. You can't help routing for her.
I really enjoyed this one. A quick easy read. The characters were so sweet and funny. I loved the Guinea pigs. Such a warm, friendly story. I read this very quickly. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
This is an engaging book following the fortunes of Jenna, as she overcomes obstacles in her life that might have daunted a lesser person. You really want her to win through, but things never seem to go her way. She carries on regardless surprises herself with what she can achieve. A funny feel good book that will have you smiling throughout.
Let me start off by saying that a book with guinea pigs in it has got to be on my list to read. I loved the idea behind this book and thought it quite unique, it also deals with some issues that either writers shy away from or aren't always well represented in this genre in my opinion. A well written story that leaves you with a nice fuzzy feeling. Thanks netgalley for an advanced copy.
In Jenna’s experience happily ever after only happens in books and fairytales. She’s in a deadend relationship with a deadend unreliable obnoxious man. Happy for now is the best she can currently get but that isn’t the same as before either. By pure accident she finds a letter in a box and opens it. It opens a can of worms and Jenna meets Henry Somners who shows her that a happily ever after can happen in real life as well as stories.
I enjoyed this book. I thought it was entertaining and different. It explored the angle of disability as well which was different. I would highly recommend this book and would cheerfully read it again and again. Thank you to netgalley and One More Chapter for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
Was an OK read, didn't pull at my heart like most romances do. I didn't like the fact that she wanted more either Henry whilst still being with her previous boyfriend. (Can't stand cheating, really throws me off). The plot was starting to get interesting and I'd recommend to others who like this genre but it just wasn't for me. Thank you for letting me read this.
Absolutely delightful romantic comedy. It will leave you feeling all warm and tingly. The inclusion of Snickers and his entourage of Guinea pigs makes the book wonderful. It is a wistful story that is great for anyone to read with no explicit details like some Romantic novels include.
The mix of characters are fun and it is refreshing to have a main character that isn’t “perfect” as most books seem to insist on having. It is a well rounded cast that are extremely likeable with a feel good story line. I highly recommend this book as I don’t think you will want to set it down.
Thank you to One More Chapter, Harper Collins via NetGalley for the opportunity to read the ARC of this ebook. Outstanding.
Love You From A-Z by Linda Corbett is a cute romance, perfect for Summer reading poolside or on vacation. Jenna Oakhurst craves stability and security , a consequence of her troubled childhood, so her boyfriend's latest money making scheme of bidding on the contents of abandoned storage units in order to sell the contents online makes her more than a little nervous, especially given some of his past poor decisions. She is trying to be supportive however, so goes along to help him sort through his latest purchases. There she discovers an unopened letter and decides to reach out to the author ,a man named Henry Sommers. As her friendship with Henry develops, Jenna starts to question her current relationship and what really matters most to her.
This sweet read may be very predictable, but I don't think anyone picks up a romance expecting too many surprises along the way. The characters are certainly believable, and even the secondary characters like Jenna's sister and her wife add colour to the story. Setting part of the book at a guinea pig rescue was a fun idea, and it added some very humorous moments to the book. Despite some will they/won't they moments along the way, the ending of the book is just as satisfying as you would hope. I also appreciated that Jenna had a mobility impairment that was incorporated into the story without being the focus of it, something that I have not seen very often in this genre before. The representation is important and it was beautifully handled, and I think it took my rating of the book up a star ,
I read and reviewed an ARC courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher, all opinions are my own.
A sweet and funny romance with some animals as well so it will tick lots of boxes. You know the ending but the journey was enjoyable.
