I’m in an utter awe of Nalini Singh and her story writing. There’s something that gravitates and fascinates me toward her characters, especially the heroine. The story was intriguing from the beginning and I really loved and enjoyed it. Henceforth, this book deserves all the stars and more!!

Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley pub for this earc

As I went in to book 21 into the Psy Changeling universe, I’m still incredibly surprised that we can still learn more about this world.

We got two new character, Lei and Ivan but we also got to see some of our favorite We also got a new type of shifters in this was which was awesome.

The Romance in this one definitely took its time but it was worth the wait. And I love that we got to see different sides of Ivan and Lei around their friends and family and with each other.

One thing that bother me a little is how many more times will we see a “special” Psy who’s powers will be magical turned from evil to good??? At this point every Psy character should have a different power.
It was cool to see how we connected our brand new characters to the characters we saw in previous stories. And finally getting closer to the bad guy.

I just wish the next book will go up and not down with the storyline

This book is a great addition to the series. I don't know what it was about Ivan but I really liked him. The world building and the new aspects of it that we get with every book are amazing. Even after so many books in this series I never feel that it is the same old thing every time. That is hard to accomplish with such a long running series. I am very much looking forward to the next book.

I LOVE the Pay/Changeling series and have read and re-read the books dozens and dozens of times, but somehow this one pulled the legs out from under me. A lot of the characters, especially the Pay have gone through incomprehensible abuse, but somehow Ivan and Lei grabbed me by the throat. It's an emotional rollercoaster with two lost souls coming together.
We learn a few intriguing things about the Architect and see the rest of the Merchant clan have great cameos. I wonder if we'll ever have Arwen's story;).

I have no clear trigger warnings to give as I'm not quite sure why i found this so emotional, but I will recommend that if verbal abuse, bad family background, and immense loss are difficult to go into this story with care.

Great continuation of the Psy/ Changeling series. Ivan and Lei were strong characters separate and together. Even though they hadn’t been in any of the previous books, I still grew attached to them and wanted to keep their story going. Of course, any time the original characters are brought back I love the story even more. It was great to see the original Leopard changelings.

If you're already a fan of this series, you will love this book, and if you're not, it will almost certainly intrigue you enough to go back and read the rest of the series.

I’m a little dumbstruck after literally just finishing this book, so what follows is my first reaction, bubbly excitement because Storm Echo was so much more than I was expecting.

Damn, Nalini Singh is a master at world-building. There are so many threads in this series now, it seems impossible to keep up with them all at times. Yet, Singh weaves them into these stories that can be mind-blowing in their callbacks to previous books, their intricacies, and how they play into the overarching story.

I was almost immediately entangled in Ivan and Lei’s story, and I love that the structure of Storm Echo allowed us to see what was, is, and will be. There were moments, I must confess when I desperately wanted to share my knowledge with Lei to ease the way, but when it all came together, it was well worth any twinges of frustration. Which is to say, my heart sighed with happiness, and I cried—a couple of times.

In more than one way, the payoff in this book is fantastic. I admit to being a little worried as I crept (okay, raced) closer to the end, but without spoilers, let me just say that the conclusion was deeply satisfying while still leaving me with that familiar urgency to get more information, more books, more, more, more.

I’m already planning a re-read, and hopefully, I’ll be a little more ordered in my thinking by then. But in the giddiness of my first read—after time spent with some of my favorites and building my ever-expanding crush on Ena Mercant—all that’s left to say is that Storm Echo is addictive, rewarding, exciting, and so, so good.

One of your best Nalini, loved both the hero and the heroine and wanted the story to go on and on. Well done.👏👏👏👏

I love Nalini Singh and her psy changeling series, and this was well written as usual but I have to admit it’s not my favorite. The paving is really choppy, and *spoiler* amnesia plot lines are just not tropes I’m a big fan of so that didn’t help. I didn’t feel we got to really see these two get to know each other, it’s very much Insta-love followed by plot contrivances to postpone them getting together and to get as much Lucas & Sasha page time as possible. To be honest I’ve pretty much had enough Lucas & Sasha and the San Fran group. They’re great but I’m ready for the next storylines you be told, there are so many characters that have been introduced and teased for years now that we keep not getting, I’d rather see those stories than ones like this which just seem to be intended to give us more page time w the San Fran characters. I’m eager for Nikita & Anthony’s story, Remy’s story, Pax’s story and VERY ready for humans to finally be included. I thought at the Allegience of honor book, when we found out that the psy net needs humans we would start getting psy-human love stories but there haven’t been any since then. So this one was fine and enjoyable but for me ultimately a bit unsatisfying over all.

Storm Echo is an intense, and ultimately hopeful story. I'm calling it Psy-sunshine instead of grumpy-sunshine. Ivan meets shapeshifter Lei while on a work course. He is intrigued by the bright, warm Changeling who efficiently bandages him up after an injury and they agree to meet again. Until, one day, she doesn't show and he isn't able to contact her. They meet again in San Francisco and his Lei doesn't remember him (though her cat does!) Also, she's there for an unexpected purpose.
I really liked that Storm Echo is about theme of family and found family for both Lei and Ivan. The Mercants found him later in life because of his mother leaving her family when she was young but they raised him as though he'd been there since birth. Lei's found family is within her pack.
The romance develops so beautifully as they are intrigued by each other and then work on their reservations and internal conflict to get to the point where they can be together. It's all the richer for the time they take to truly know one another.
Another fantastic book by Nalini Singh. I've already reread it once and anticipate doing so again in the future.

I don't have words right now.

Nalini Singh has written a beautiful masterpiece that broke my heart and wrapped it in a bow!

Another fantastic book by Singh. The Scarab Queen plot has kept me on my toes and the characters are always captivating. My only real complaint is that the pacing seemed a bit fast and the development of the romance felt rushed. But I still devoured it in a couple days and definitely enjoyed it the entire time

I’ve had a few issues with both of Singh’s para series recently, but I have to say I enjoyed this one. Ivan is a security specialist for the Merchant family. He was born with an abnormal brain issue, and knows that he's on a countdown until loss of control will lead to needing to be caged. When a chance encounter with an unknown changeling during a training exercise leaves him floundering for more he doesn't know whether to celebrate or flee. How can he expect anyone to want someone on a countdown? When Lei doesn't show up one evening, he knows that she couldn't accept what he is, but circumstance unravel that shatter his understanding of what happened. As well as the long year of loneliness that followed. Interesting how NS manages to fit all this together. Fresh and invigorating to the series.

It took me a bit to get into this one which is unusual for this series. Overall, I enjoyed it though some of the coincidences and answers seemed just a little to pat for my liking. It was interesting to see the aftermath of Lucas' actions in an earlier book from an outsider's perspective. The identity of the Architect was not at all surprising to me but I won't spoil it for anyone else in case they haven't figured it out. I do find it interesting that in the six books in the Trinity series so far, three of them have been about Mercants.

This book brought me back home. It’s the only way to describe it. I Ioved being in Russia, Italy, and the deep blue sea but nothing beats being back home. There is so much that happens that I found myself constantly gasping with surprise. The hero and heroine of this book seriously took it to another level. They were tough but broken. Fierce but afraid. It was more real emotionally then I feel like it’s been. Again I love my bears but I am definitely team DR/SD. I enjoyed this book so much I went back to read it again.

I never have to worry about a Nalini Singh book because I know I'll fall in love with it. She's created such a vibrant world that it's a joy to return to it again and again. I had such a great time reading this book that I couldn't go to sleep until I'd finished it! Ivan and Soleil started off seeming to be such opposites, but from their first meet-cute meeting you could tell that there was something that connected them. Singh is a master at pulling you into interior worlds, and easily swept me up in how they were addressing their own traumas, and how they were able to help one another. Nalini Singh always has an excellent balance of character work and world building, but this book leaned more heavily into the characters, which I'm not sorry about at all. Definitely a book that I'll be rereading very soon!

This story grabbed me from the start. I love wounded people and how relationship can heal those wounds and bring better understanding to who they really are. Ivan and Lei are two such people, each thinking their life was at an end for different reasons. Meeting brought hope, and that brought life back to them. it was satisfying to watch their relationship grow as they accepted they belonged together. It was great being back in the Psy/Changeling world and seeing old friends as another part of the big picture was brought into focus. It was a happy ending for Ivan and Lei and a glimpse into what is coming.
Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced reader's copy of this title All opinions are my own.

In this latest in Singh’s Psy/Changeling series the Mercant’s are back in the spotlight. Ivan Mercant (Canto and Silver’s cousin), security chief of the family, is certain there is something wrong with him, but that can’t change the way changeling Lei holds him from the day she wanders out of a forest and treats wounds he received on an intense training course. Then they are separated by a horrific event. A year later they lock eyes just as a different catastrophic event begins. Her human self doesn’t remember him, but her cat is certain he’s theirs. Another fun and fascinating romance in the Trinity series.

Storm Echo is the most recent release into the Psy Changeling Trinity series and in this story we have something a bit different than what we have seen in the previous books in the series. We, of course, get introduced to some new characters within this story, but also get taken back to the DarkRiver pack which was a delightful surprise. I pretty much went into this book blind, I just have faith in Nalini Singh and her writing. Her writing style just connects to me. As many of you know my health and attention have been off in my reading but this book has really brought me back into it. Storm Echo was such a beautiful story, and I became so endeared to these characters from their “meet cute” all the way to them working through their relationship and discovering what they were capable of together. It was quite interesting to see certain plot points that are layered within the story. It was an experience being able to experience this journey alongside our delightful characters from our main protagonists to the supporting cast that is built within the story.

Storm Echo sets off with our hero and heroine, Ivan and Soleil, meeting in the forest where Ivan is bowled over by Soleil in her grace and beauty, and femininity. He only wants to learn more about her and is intrigued. Ivan and Soleil discover a sweet love in such a short time but then a horrific attack to Soleil’s pack, brings her severely injured and Ivan saving her life but then they are separated for a space of time. Now when Ivan finds Soleil again, her memories and body have not fully recovered and even though her memory of him is scattered, her wolf recognizes him as theirs and will do anything to keep him by her side. Soleil trusts in the instincts that her wolf has, but she is on a dangerous mission and the last thing that she needs is the distraction of him. But even though Ivan knows that Soleil is out for revenge against the man she believes to be behind the devastation to her pack, he is willing to risk his life to stand by her side and be her protector. But not everything is as it seems, and Soleil finds family and connection within the pack she believes to have destroyed her pack. She finds home and peace and with Ivan by her side, she is willing to do whatever it takes.

I was stunned by the power of this story and I just wanted to stay within this story and I never wanted to let go of Ivan and Soleil. Their story was such a beautiful one and seeing the various facets of their relationship was such beauty and Nalini Singh takes us on a journey here that is epic and endearing and poignant in the small quiet moments. There are heartbreaking aspects to this story (so check the triggers on this one here before reading) but I adored the tension that is built within this story. This book takes place after the silence has fallen for the Psy but the Psy are learning who they are. Ivan is part of a family that has always had some emotion and connection to each other. But his mind is about to fall and he refuses to take down those that he loves because his mind could be a weapon if he isn’t careful. The last thing he ever expected was to fall in love with Soleil or find such a connection to her. And now the DarkRiver pack is involved and he doesn’t want to put others in danger. Soleil is determined to keep Ivan no matter what it takes. There is a fierceness in this heroine (as we have seen in this series) in how the women just fight for their mates just as equally or more so as we seek from the heroes. Soleil may be a healer, but she is changeling and fierce in her love for him. Soleil is one of those heroines that has so much depth to her. The way she is willing to fight for the relationship was such a beautiful experience and you just want to cheer her on throughout all of this one here. I was amazed at how she really tested those boundaries and discovered her own strength. We also see some great discoveries for Ivan’s side of the relationship. He doesn’t want to put Soleil in danger, but he won’t drive her away either. You see how torn he is in how he doesn’t want to risk her but also can’t let her go. We of course get some fun times with the changelings here and I adored seeing so many old favorites within this book and seeing a healer and alpha connection form was so beautiful. I loved how Soleil and Lucas connect to each other. The way that Singh writes pack dynamics never ceases to amaze me. There is something so poignant about these connections, the intimacy, and strong familial bonds is enthralling at times and the reader aches for it to be real. Its written in such a manner that astounds the reader every time you immerse yourself into this world.

Overall I found Storm Echo to be a romance that astounds and delves deeply; its a story that will gravitate the reader to the story in a unique way that you won’t want to let go of. Its a story of healing, deep layered emotion, the strength of one’s self, and the value of family connection and fierce love that is compounded into an essence of beauty and lively delights!
