Ivan Mercant was brought to his grandmother's attention at the drug overdose death of his mother. He's constantly trained to be prepared for any eventuality. He's got to protect his family and the world from the dormant part of his brain the psychic monster that wants only to feed. The leash is slipping until he met and lost Lei.

Soleil Bijoux Garcia is a healer who has lost everything. She's even losing her mind... which is why she's in San Fransisco to take revenge on Lucas Hunter, alpha of the DarkRiver leopard pack. An attack on the Psy leaves bodies on the street and Soleil comes to the attention of Ivan and the leopard pack.

Why I started this book: Huge Singh fan, so I jumped at the opportunity to read an ARC from Netgalley.

Why I finished it: Like all Singh's books, this was basically a one-sit read. Cover to cover. Singh has managed to weave this story into several previous stories, (not necessary to read, but enjoyable to revisit.). My friends, after reading this book you will want to revisit multiple books from the series. And that is what the best story tellers give us, a fresh story and a reminder of the wealth of stories already told.

It was lovely being back in the world of the Psy! I enjoyed the story and the furthering of the plot and enjoyed the independence and depth that was shown in all of the characters.

Great addition of the series. Learning more of the shadowy Mercant family is always a plus. I think followers of the series will enjoy this installment as it moves the plot a little farther along.

I love this series and loved this latest addition. I think one of my favorite parts of reading these books is to see how my favorite characters are doing. That they are still happy. I wasn’t sure if I’d love Ivan and Lei but their relationship was lovely to read about. ❤️

Holy macro plot, Batman! OK, the microplot (aka the romance) for me was a little oddly paced. I really liked both Ivan and Soleil, but I feel like because we the audience knew info that they didn't, it created a situation where I was waiting for them to catch up for a good chunk of the middle. That being said, I LOVED THE MACRO PLOT PAY. OFF IN THIS BOOK AND CANNOT SAY MORE BECAUSE SPOILERS BUT AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. So I'd say micro plot was 3.5 and the macro plot was 4.5 stars, so we'll average out to 4

I absolutely loved reading this book! When I saw I was approved, I immediately dropped my current read, and rearranged my TBR so I could read this right then and there, and then picked up and basically didn't stop reading it until I finished, and it was so great!

At this point, Mercant's have been a member of the romance for half of Trinity series, though I don't think there's any more of the grandchildren to get full length stories, since Arwen does have a romance, so he could get a shorter story, or keep popping up in the background other books.

Getting to know Ivan and Lei was so fantastic! I don't think we've really seen then before, but we've seen people connected to them before, obviously, like I said, Mercant's have been a big part of this series, but the people who are connected to Lei, well, they're an important part of her story!

Their romance was really great-and it was told in a bit of a different way, because we have their initial meeting and getting to know each other. And then we skip over a year, and that was different for this series and I really enjoyed it! The conflict as to why they shouldn't mate was really compelling to read!

Really enjoyed what we learned from his abilities, both for what they can do for the Psy-Net, as well as the conclusions that were made! I'm so excited to see where it goes from here, because what happened was a pretty big deal, and just the first major move, and I can't wait for more!

Loved reading this book, and I can't wait for the next book!
