Having read the Gallagher Girls series but not the Heist Society series, this was a fun little novella. I especially enjoyed being introduced to new characters and catching up with old favourites. I love it when authors combine 2 of their 'worlds' into one as it always brings out new sides to their characters that maybe you wouldn't expect from their main storylines.
Please accept my apologies for not sending any feedback until now.
Compelling story, loved the characters, didn't want it to end.
This book was added to my shelf five years ago. I was initially interested in reading it with my teen daughter as I thought it would be a fun book to read together, but it didn't appeal to her. I am therefore no longer interested in reading it and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
When I first requested this book I was reading the Heist Society's series. At first it was entertained enough, but I really lost interest as it felt kind of childish for me. I mean, the plot itself would've been interesting, if I were 13 at the moment I was reading it, which I wasn't.
So, I read a few pages, but I soon realized that I wasn't really all that interested in getting into this world, since it didn't feel like something I would like. Again, maybe if I were younger, it would've piked my interest, but at the moment it just didn't.
I had enjoyed the Gallagher Girls and Heist Society series' from the moment I discovered them and was very excited and a little nervous when i discovered that a crossover novella was to be released focusing on Macey and Hale's more privileged backgrounds.
This novella showed us what happens when a spy and a thief get caught in the middle of an attack at a society gala event, leaving it to Macey and Hale to work together with their very different skills to get themselves out.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well Ally Carter managed to bring these two stories together without betraying the original stories.
Another excellent book for Ms. Carter's fans. My students love her!
This was a fun, intriguing read. It definitely surprised me and kept me guessing, which I think is the mark of a great book.
This was so much fun! I am a fan of both of these series so seeing the two come together was a great experience,!
I didn't post a review of Double Crossed because I only blog about books that I like. I don't post negative reviews. This one wasn't a good match for me. The set up felt artificial and the voice wasn't authentic.
Really enjoyed this book and have bought for two libraries so far. I am a big fan of Ally Carter.
