WHAT!!! I’m still 😳😳 from this book! Freida does it again and I was hooked from the very first page. I’ve read most of her books and this is my favorite by far. Miss Frieda sure knows how to keep you on your toes, while you have every possible scenario running through your head.

This story is about Millie Calloway who is living in her car until she receives a job offer from Nina Winchester. Cleaning, cooking, errands, occasional child care. What could go wrong? Millie quickly realizes Nina is a manipulative, lying, tantrum throwing snob. She does her best to keep her head down so she can keep her job. But everyone in the Winchester house has their own secrets and you’re soon wondering who is capable of what?!

Thank you to Net Galley, Bookouture, and Frieda McFadden for this ARC copy!

I was a little worried about this one when I started it. The "evil" foreshadowing was a little heavy - creepy rooms, creepy kids, mysterious gardens who whisper warnings in other languages.

But, oh my goodness, The Housemaid was so good. I finished it in a day. It wasn't anything like I expected. I'm glad that Millie found a new career path and can't wait to read more about her.

Thanks to @netgalley and @bookouture for the free copy for a review.

Talk about dark and twisted!!😨
However, I am not complaining at all! This was a fast paced single sitting read that I could not get enough of. It was one that was very easy to get into. I loved all of the unexpected twists and turns. I was on the edge of my seat with this book and I’m still thinking of the ending, which I didn’t see coming at all.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The plot was very well developed and so were the characters I liked how the book is broken into two parts. This was a very suspenseful book that is bound to be a BIG hit once it’s released.

This was my first time reading this author and I have no doubt I will be scrolling through her backlist adding her other titles to my list. I absolutely recommend The Housemaid. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Millie is struggling to find a job due to her past and is living out of her car, until she finally gets what she thinks is an amazing job as a housemaid for the ultra-wealthy Winchester family. Millie accepts the live-in position. But soon after starting this job, she notices that Mrs. Winchester (Nina) is not the same person she met in the interview. She is behaving completely different than she did at the job interview and is acting very unstable. She is very messy, accuses Millie of stealing things, and her daughter is a complete brat. The only one that seems to be nice to her is Mr. Winchester (Andrew). The landscaper, Enzo, warns Millie that it is not safe in the house, but Millie can't afford to leave. What will happen to Millie? Will she make it out of the house safely?

This was an incredible book. I was hooked from the first page. I devoured it quickly, but at the same time didn't want it to end. I really didn't know where this book was headed and the author definitely fooled me. I love a book with a good twist that I can't predict and this one did it for me. An amazing 5 stars for THE HOUSEMAID!! I wish I could find more books like this one to read! I will be looking into Frieda McFadden's previous titles.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This review will be posted to my Instagram Blog (@coffee.break.book.reviews) in the near future.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for an early copy of The Housemaid. I have already texted three friends about this book and author. She is AMAZING!!!!!!!! Sick, sick, sick plot!!!!!!! I Absolutely Loved it, what does that say about me lol. I Cannot say enough about this book, I will remember it FOREVER! On a side note, I got into the psychological genre from another author and I have to say this book blows that one away!!!!! Get ready for the ride of your life in a novel that you won’t want to end!!!!!

Another great book from Freida McFadden- each book of her books I can’t put down and get sucked into the story and characters, “The Housemaid” was no different. I definitely recommend this book.

I’ve read other books by this author, but I think this is my favorite. I didn’t fully see the twist coming and really enjoyed the ending.

I read The Housemaid in (almost) one sitting. Freida McFadden's writing made it so easy to get into the plot, and even though there were really only five characters, the pacing was great. The only thing that stopped me from being completely blown away was that the major plot twist was similar to a thriller I read a few years ago, so I was able to predict it pretty early on. Other than that, I loved this book and look forward to reading more from the author.

I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it and all I can say is Wow! I have read about 5 books by this author and I tell myself after each one that the next one cannot possibly be better but it is. I do not even read what the book is about because I know that it will be amazing. I can't start a book by this author unless I have a day or night to finish it because I won't be able to put it down. So many twists and surprises in this book. Highly recommend

Freida McFadden is one of the most recommended and talked about authors on the American Psychological Thrillers Facebook groups, I couldn't wait to read this, her first book published with Bookouture.

Three main characters, Millie, down on her luck and living in her car until she lands a job as The Housemaid for her new employers, Andrew is the perfect husband to Nina, the erratic wife.

No spoilers, read it for yourself!

Once again Freida McFadden lures you in to a seemingly ordinary domestic thriller scenario. The flow and pacing of this novel is so smooth. Once you are fully engaged with the characters hold on tight for expertly executed twist after twist.

Freida has a remarkable talent for big twists that you don't see coming that work perfectly within the story.

Another pulse pounding thrill ride from one of the most consistently entertaining authors I've read.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture.

Thank you Bookouture, Netgalley, and Frieda McFadden for my gifted copy!

Synopsis:
Being an ex-con, Millie has been struggling to find any work. So when the wealthy couple Nina and Andrew hire her as a housemaid, she cannot believe her luck. But soon, she finds it hard not to upset Nina - who has a history of delusion and personality disorders, and seems to become more and more hysterical by the day. But her desperate need of money is not Millie's only reason to stay: handsome Andrew is more than nice to her...

My opinion:
I LOVE IT! What more is there to say? Well, combine Lock Every Door by Riley Sager and The Turn Of The Key by Ruth Ware with Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris and Never Tell A Lie by Gail Schimmel, you'll get exactly this book. Millie is SUCH a great main character, and I also loved how the author wrote Nina and Andrew. This book is the most unpredictable thing I have read in a long time, and it's way more than just a wild ride! I loved every minute of it!

This was my first book by this author, and it won't be my last.

Need a book that keeps you up at night, wondering what will happen next? Look no further! The story is told from two POVs, Nina and Millie. Millie is hired to work as a housemaid, but she soon discovers that not all is as it should be.

I loved how the story started with a bang, wanting you to know exactly what had happened. Freida doesn’t waste a word, and knows how to heighten the suspense. She makes it all seem so effortlessly to produce stories that engage, but I’ve read a lot of psychological thrillers and know how hard it is to keep the interest of the readers.

Very well done, although some parts were a bit hard to read, and the ending wasn’t entirely believable.

Thank you NetGalley and bookouture for this DARC

Suspenseful and nail gripping from beginning to end. Nina and Andy were too perfect to not have something wrong with them. There was no middle ground with these characters. Andy was as sweet as pie and no one is like that all the time. Nina is certifiably insane but with such extreme, it's hard to believe. Once I got to the ending is when I understood the character has a whole. It's very intriguing even though it doesn't really keep you guessing. I kind of saw it ahead of time although, not to the exact extent of what will happen. This is a definite need-to-read book.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for letting me read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was introduced to Freida's books last month and loved each and every one of the 6 books I read. This one included.

Everything is not what it seemed. The charscters were written well that you either love them or hate them.

A rollercoaster throughout the book filled with so many twists that you keep saying wtf.

My mind is blown thanks to this story but it also says how good this psychological thriller is. Freida, you did it again..

Thank you to netgalley and bookouture for allowing me to read this book for an honest review.

Firstly, I am thankful for the opportunity to have received a free advanced copy of this eBook through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I’ve read a few books from Freida before which I have enjoyed and this one certainly does not disappoint. I’ll definitely be moving her other books up to the top of my TBR list.

This is one twisty ride from start to finish, could not turn the pages quick enough. With an awesome shocking thrill at the end too. Loved it!

I rate this Ebook 5 stars and would recommend to those who enjoy their psychological thrillers.

OH MY GOODNESS!! This book was CRAZY good!! So many twists and turns and downright creepy AF!!! The Housemaid is hands down one of the best and most exciting thrillers that I have ever read! Prepare yourself before diving into this one! Make sure to allot yourself a few hours of alone time because one you start reading you will curse any and all interruptions. This book will inspire all kinds of emotions and have you questioning your own sanity, so you might want some alcohol handy to help calm your nerves.
I must confess. I already own 7 of McFadden's novels, but I have yet to read any of them because my TBR is just completely out of hand! I was so excited to be approved for the eARC of The Housemaid, giving me the excuse to finally read one of her books. And what a worthy first read it was!! I binged it today and I can't wait to start reading more!

HUGE thank you to the author, Bookouture and NetGalley for the allowing me to preview this ARC!!

A fast paced twisty thriller, where nothing is as it seems. Millie, is thrilled to get a job as a housekeeper for Nina and her handsome husband. Millie had been living in her car, with a prison record and no good job prospects. Is this finally her big break. Nina who had been so nice to her was now showing signs of mental illness and cruelty. First we get Millie's story and then we get the perspective of Nina. A good read. 4.5

Wow! I’m beginning to love this author. Once again, she’s kept me up all night.

Millie is an ex-con looking for a chance to start a new life. Luckily (or not so), she lands a live-in housekeeping position with the Winchesters, a wealthy family in suburbia. Immediately, she starts realizing she bit off more than she can chew. Her new boss is impossible to please, the child she must care for is a brat, and she has an unwanted attraction to the man of the house. As much as she wants to leave, she can’t. She needs this job.

I was drawn in from the beginning. The twists were some I never saw coming. This is a brilliant story demonstrating that nothing is ever as it seems.
