Wow, I wasn't expecting to like this book so much. The author does a fantastic job creating suspense and an overall feel of creepiness. I literally could not put this book down!

An absolutely devour-in-one-sitting read. I loved this!!
It has a typical setup. The protagonist, Millie, is released from jail and on parole. Fired from her bartending job, she’s living in her car. Desperate for a job. The live-in maid job for a rich family sounds too good to be true. She accepts the job. But the wife, Nina, is very unusual and there’s more to this family than meets the eye.
If anyone has read The Last Mrs Parrish or The Wife Between Us, you’ll see the first plot twist halfway through the novel coming. But the protagonist is completely different and the second half of the novel couldn’t be more different from the above mentioned books. I highly enjoyed this and will definitely be checking more of McFadden’s work.

Aaah! I love Freida’s books! I just discovered them last year and have been hooked. The Housemaid has everything you expect and enjoy in a Freida book—intrigue, twists, and what the heck?! moments. I loved this story & couldn’t put it down!

I loved this book so much! I am an avid fan of Freida McFadden and have loved all her books. This one did not disappoint!

Just when you think you have it figured out, or when you think you should be mad at this person, you are thrown for a loop and everything you think is turned upside down!

What a whirlwind. The Housemaid is the first book this year that I’ve read within 24 hours. I couldn’t put it down. There was just something addictive about it. For one, the story was great. There were a few twists that I didn’t see coming but when they did, I immediately thought “that makes sense”. The plot is also very dark, and it only gets darker as it thickens. At the same time, it’s a very easy read with simple language providing a deep impact. And I’ve never read a prologue or epilogue so perfect.

I also enjoyed all the characters. Millie was a particularly fantastic character, a great juxtaposition between flawed and morally strong. Even though she made decisions I didn’t agree with, I couldn’t help but side with her. Nina and Andrew have great character development and brought me on different journeys than Millie. While I liked Millie all the way through, Nina and Andrew played with my feelings and brought the most surprises.

The ending of The Housemaid was totally satisfying and I was so excited to see there is a sequel coming out. After a lukewarm introduction to Frieda McFadden with The Locked Door, I’m totally getting the hype now.

I have heard Frieda McFaddens name SO much lately on book pages I follow. Was thrilled to read this one (and can’t wait for the sequel The Housemaid’s Secret).
I get why all the attention. Epitome of unputdownable stories. If you are looking for something that doesn’t require a lot of commitment or time, check out this author and The Housemaid.

I kept seeing rave #reviews of @fmcfaddenauthor and so I had to give this one a try…. And I am officially on the hardcore Freida train 🚂 - this one was right up my alley and perfect for fans of The Wife Between Us and the like.

This brings me to another good rule of thumb for life: never agree to live in an attic bedroom that locks from the outside with people you do not know.

Another rule of thumb: if a job seems too good to be true - it probably is.

Without giving any spoiler alerts I will go ahead and say that Nina’s behavior made me want to lose my mind. Props to Millie because I would have lost it on that woman.

This one kicks off with Millie, a beautiful recently paroled young woman who escapes living out of her car and an endless string of job rejections by landing a live-in position as a nanny and maid for an upper echelon suburban family. Millie thinks the job is simply too good to be true. And - let me tell you - she was correct 🙈

WOW! Where do I even start right now! The Housemaid is a mind blowing read! This is the first book I’ve read of Freida McFadden and honestly if all her books are mind blowing like this one, I’m an addict already!

This one will have you turning pages quicker than you can imagine! It was such an easy read, the writing style flowed tremendously and each short chapter just left me wanting more! The twists will have your jaw dropping!

Millie Calloway is living in her car after losing her job and not being able to pay rent so when an opportunity comes up for a well paying live-in housemaid at the Winchester residence comes up Millie applies. The only thing that might hold her back is if Nina Winchester runs a background check on her because Millie has a secret that she would rather keep in the past!

Millie is shocked when a week after interviewing for the position, Nina calls her back to tell her she’s got the job!

But Nina Winchester with her fancy house, flash car and handsome husband has secrets too and Millie soon will find out they are far more dangerous than hers!

Deliciously twisted, hold on to your head because this one will have it spinning wildly!

A story of twist and turns!

Even though many of the events in this book wouldn't actually happen in 'real life, it's still a real engaging and entertaining book. Told from different points of view, nothing is as it appears, and I found myself lost in so many emotions as I was reading.

That was my first experience with the author and she definitely got one crazy and smart brain. I devoured this book, the intensity and tension feelings throught it were amazing. I don't wanna talk to much about it because I don't wanna give any kind of spoiler, but it's definitely worth reading.

I absolutely loved this book. I didn't like Nina, but that didn't deter me from finishing the book. And I'm glad I did finish. I was sorry that it ended and will probably go back and read it again. Filled with twists and turns, it kept me entertained and wondering how it was going turn out. I love Freida McFadden's books and was thrilled to read this one early.

There's just no excuse why a book this good sat
on my shelf this long! To say this book was
entertaining, is an understatement and I
absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on 'The
Housemaid's Secret’!
This story is told between 2 narrators, Nina and
Millie. Nina has it all with a very rich, handsome
husband, Andrew, a large home in a prominent
neighborhood, a beautiful young daughter.
But, when Nina hires Millie as her 'maid', Millie
realizes that something or someone is not right
in this house.
As the story progresses secrets are revealed
that are shocking! While I had a general idea of
What was to come, I was still blindsided at how
this played out! All the ⭐️s for The
Housemaid'!! This is the perfect 🍿thriller!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this
ARC in exchange for an honest review, I loved
it!

I have just finished reading this. In preparation for part 2 coming out early next year.

I'd heard alot of hype regarding this author and jn particular this book so when I was given an arc copy I gave it a read.

This book is fantastic. It seemed like such a quick read but that was due to this book keeping me hooked!! I loved it. Fast pace and great character and plot building.

I've now started looking at this authors blacklist

Amazing book and exceptionally written.

Whoa!! Solid, edge of your seat domestic thriller with a twist on top of a twist filled with smart writing. I could put this book down and can’t wait to see what comes next. Nina needs a housekeeper, and along comes Millie. Millie will be able to help with cooking, housework, babysitting, and much more!! Husband Andrew is furious a stranger will be in the house but he finds himself attracted to the new housemaid. The deception and relationships are top notch
