Trying to find “ Mr. Right” in the small town of Mistletoe, ID has proven to be nearly impossible for Merry Winters. When the one man who sparks her interest seems unfazed by her, she turns to online dating in hopes of finding other options. She hopes to balance her time between her family’s Christmas tree farm, her small craft business, and now dating.
As a single dad, Clark Griffin wasn’t expecting much when he decided to sign up for a dating app. Soon develops a great connection with “Knottygirl25”. When they finally meet in person, surprise causes him to make a terrible “first” impression.
There’s Something About Merry is a sweet and spicy Christmas romance. It is book 2 in the Mistletoe Romance series by Codi Hall. It really has a little bit of everything - online dating, single dad MC, small town, second chances, and more. There is the perfect balance of swoony romance and humorous banter. The MCs have great chemistry with just a bit of angst. I really love the Winters family, especially the parents. Mrs. Winters is so welcoming and generous.
This romcom is a little predictable but what romance book isn’t? I had high hopes for this book after really enjoying Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist, and Codi Hall did not disappoint. If you’re looking for fun, holiday romance with a little spice this is a great option. I look forward to seeing where the author takes this series next.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca!

For sure add this to your Christmas list this year! It is THE PERFECT feel good read for the holiday season! I adored Jace and you will laugh out loud at the things he says (the mouths of babes have NO FILTER)! This story has secured a highly coveted top spot in my reads this year!

First of all I think the name is super cute. I was excited to hear Merry’s story after listening to Nick and Noel’s story.
I want to live in Mistletoe! It’s a real life hallmark town! ❤️
Clark and Merry were too sweet from the beginning. They had a bit of history from high school. And we also have a “You’ve Got Mail” situation and I loved it!
Also, Jace was the best kid! Loved seeing Clark and his relationship and also his growing relationship with Merry and her family! Totally what Clark and Jace deserved!
Makes me sooo excited for Xmas!

There's Something about Merry follows Merry who works at her family's Christmas tree farm. She is sick of being single and just wants to find the right guy. However, she lives in a small town and there aren't that many single guys. Clark just moved back and is the foreman of Merry's family farm. Clark isn't looking for romance because he has a son. Nevertheless, he decides to join a dating app. And the person he just so happens to match with is Merry. Now these two go way back and soon they have to decide if it is meant to be or just be friends.
I was really nervous to read this one because I did not like the first book in this series ( Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist). But I ended up liking this book way more and I am so happy I gave it a read. It was such a cute Christmas romance. I really enjoyed the overall plot of this one. And I just loved how the relationship between the characters changed throughout this novel. This book seems like it would make such a cute Christmas movie. If you are looking for a cute Christmas romance I would suggest this one. Thank you NetGalley, Sourcebooks, anf Codi Hall for this ARC.

While I didn't necessarily love Hall's first book in the Mistletoe Romance series, I was drawn into this book by the promise of a festive version of You've Got Mail. I was hoping that maybe the lack of Christmas and underdevelopment of the romance that had occurred in the first book was a one-off.
The best parts of this novel were definitely the dating app conversations that Clark and Merry were having virtually as well as the bundle of cuteness that was Clark's son Jase. However, I still felt like there was not nearly enough Christmas in this book considering that the family lives on a Christmas tree farm, both protagonists are involved in its operations, and the book takes place between Halloween and Christmas. On top of that, there are so many subplots that occur throughout this book that crop up once or twice and then are barely mentioned again. There are also some fairly triggering scenes and topics being discussed in this book, one of which is included for the sake of being cute and another that is nowhere near as developed as it should be considering how much it plays into the ending of the book.
All in all, it felt like there wasn't a lot of room for this romance to breathe and what I assumed to be just a fluke in Hall's first book might just be a writing style that I don't necessarily vibe with.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review!

There’s something about Mistletoe, Idaho that I just can’t get enough of! Having read Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist this past December, I was excited to see a second book coming out so soon! I loved the Winters family then, and I still love them now.
Merry has moved back home to Mistletoe after a string of poor relationship decisions. Having spent some time focusing on herself, Merry is surprised when she encounters Clark Griffin on her family’s tree farm and begins to have feelings for the single dad.
Clark and his son, Jace, have been on their own for the entirety of Jace’s life. When the opportunity arises to head back to his hometown to help run a tree farm, Clark moves back to Idaho. Walled-off to protect his son, Clark doesn’t anticipate falling for his boss’s daughter.
I really enjoyed Merry and Clark’s story. Clark’s history with his parents and Jace’s mother has made him a wonderful father. Seeing how much he cares for his son warmed my heart.
I can’t help but wish I was part of the Winters family. Victoria and Chris are so supportive of their children and welcome everyone into their tight-knit family.
This was the perfect Christmas in July read, and I can’t wait for more from Codi Hall!
Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I am very simple person.. I see a holiday romance and I'm automatically sold.
loved loved codi hall's first book in this series so I was so excited for these characters book.
really really wanted to love it but the pacing off the book is what threw me off. felt like it dragged on for so long but at the same time suddenly the two main character's relationship was speeding up.
wish we would have gotten to them getting together sooner but I loved how they initially connected. just think some of their conflict was a little childish.
still think if you love a single dad & holiday romance then this a must read for you! really really recommend the first book in the series because it's a masterpiece.
thank you codi hall for bringing us more holiday romance books <3

3.5 stars!
There’s Something About Merry is quirky and full of Christmas spirit that will get you feeling festive!
What I liked:
* Merry & Clark, as a whole
* Their secret messages/banter
* Grumpy x Sunshine
* Hallmark movie vibes
What I didn’t like:
* Pacing—sometimes it felt a little disjointed and seemed to drag
* Dialogue at times was a bit awkward and kinda childish
Overall I liked Merry & Clark’s story. It’s light and sweet, and a great holiday romcom that wraps you in a Hallmark movie hug while still giving you some spice!
Thank you Netgalley and Sourebooks Casablanca for the arc!

There's Something About Merry is book 2 the Codi Halls' Mistletoe Romance series. I listened to this story when it came out on Audible Christmas of 2021, and now the ebook/paperback is set to hit shelves in September. It was such a fun audiobook for the holidays!
The town of Mistletoe, Idaho–where the Winters family run their Christmas tree farm–is the classic Hallmark movie town, and this book is just that as well. It plays into a LOT of tropes–grumpy sunshine, sort of second chance, single dad, plus a You've Got Mail texting situation–and while that may be a bit gimmicky, it's also really fun during the holidays when sometimes you just want a fun, light read.
IMO, Codi Hall's sense of humor is what made this book so fun. The kid isn't ignored, instead he's right in the middle of the story with every ounce of 7 year old attitude and charm. Merry knits, which... yields it's own humorous storyline. And there's the added bonus of a quirky community of family and friends.
This will probably be an annual reread because it's so quick, and now I'm really looking forward to Holly's book!

This was a cute, fun holiday romcom. I really enjoy a single parent romance and Clark was an excellent single dad. Merry was sweet and I really liked the dynamic between her and Clark – their sweet message exchange and banter. I also enjoyed Merry and Clark’s families. I did a read / listen combination and can say the narration was really well done on this one too. I will say that the change from fun, holiday hallmark-y romcom to steamy in the second half was a bit unexpected and felt a bit sudden.
Overall, a feel good, happy read that works well to get you in the mood for the winter holiday season. Thank you to Sourcebooks Casa and Netgalley for the early read!

I absolutely loved this book! so happy that Merry was finally given her HOA! I have read the other books in the series and love how Codi Hall has them all linked together. This is for sure a series that could just keep going. ( I hope it does!)

didn’t really land with me; some lines took me completely out of it (“oh captain, my captain” mid-spicy time, for example, makes me think about robin williams). that being said, i do always enjoy the tree farm setting, and our family dog’s name is daisy mae, so points for that i guess.

I love merry her story was fun to read and I love that it's a second chance book with a fun story and how she falls for someone she use to know and that he works at the tree farm and his son is super cute and I'm just really excited to read it again

One of my favorite things about this series is how immersive it is when it comes to the Christmas spirit and mood. It’s not just a tad Christmasy; you are full immersed in all things cozy and yuletide. All the way down to their names. I’m here for the over-the-top holiday theme! I loved the banter of the characters. Clark and Merry’s affection grew at a pace that was pleasing to read. I loved Nick and Noel’s love story, so I wasn’t surprised that I loved this holiday romance by Codi Hall as well! I love dual narrator books, too. If you love a good hallmark Christmas movie, then this is the book for you! Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this gifted copy in return for an honest review.

Merry Winters is in for a Christmas like no other. After a horrible relationship Merry has sworn off relationships. She is determined to not get into one unless she knows its going to be a real one. Too bad the only guy that has caught her eye is the one stoic foreman at her family’s Christmas tree farm that she has a history with. Cue, single dad Clark Griffin. Clark isn’t looking for romance but is open to friends with benefits or one night stands. After his relationship with the mother of his son ended horrible the only thing Clark has time for is looking after his son, yet he can’t seem to keep away from the one girl he had a crush on in high school who broke his heart... and he just happens to work for her family. Merry has a history of dating jerks... but she fell fork Clark when they were in highschool, too bad he immediately gave her the cold shoulder and made it clear that he wants to keep a 39 and a half foot pole between them. In fact, years later and they’ve barely spoken or interacted despite the fact that he works for her family. Clark had a crush on Merry in highschool, while he was the introverted bookish and definitely not the type she usually went for, he asked her out only to be turned down... except both of them might have misunderstood. Clark has started online dating and finds himself connecting with a sassy, crafty woman named Knottygirl25, and yet he also finds himself falling for Merry again as they start to interact more. He soon discovers that Merry is his blind internet date and he ruins it... but maybe this Christmas magic will work and maybe they’ll finally have a second chance at first impressions. This was a cute holiday read and I loved that you got to read form both Merry and Clark’s POV. Their romance was sweet and cute.
*Thanks Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca, Sourcebooks Casablanca for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review*

This story was cute, but I struggled to get into it. The writing style was a little clunky, and the dialogue felt a tad juvenile. I really came to love the whole cast of characters included in this book and I very much enjoyed the setting-it created a great picture in my head of the farm. I just felt like parts of the story weren’t filled in.
I was given an ARC by NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca. All opinions are my own.

This book was really cute! It was funny, charming, and sweet and I had a hard time putting it down in certain parts.

I had to DNF at 40%. I wanted to much earlier but decided to push through.
I just did not mesh with the writing style, the messages they wrote were just not realistic and then the characters interactions with each other were just so all over the place to me?? Idk it just wasn't for me. I did persevere at first because I was interested, and honestly had it not been for the writing I might have continued so if you enjoy the author's writing style I would recommend you give it a shot!!
Thank you Sourcebooks Casablanca and NetGalley for the opportunity to review. All thoughts are my own.

Cute fun Christmas read. I loved the characters and the relationship between them. Now I want Christmas!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

I received an ARC of, There's Something About Merry by, Codi Hall. What a quirky Christmas read. Merry and Clark are a cute couple, this book gets you into the Christmas mood.
