This is a sweet and breezy read that will have you singing Christmas carols.

This is a classic hallmark story with a bit more steam! The second in the Winter’s siblings Christmas romance series, the first was Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist but this can still be enjoyed without reading the first one. Nick and Noel become secondary characters in Merry’s story.

This story follows Merry and Clark, who knew each other back in highschool. They both went away for college and have since returned with failed relationships under their belts. Merry has moved back home to her parent’s Christmas tree farm where Clark has been hired on as the new foreman. While Merry is charmed by his young son, Jace, she’s not sure she wants to work on melting Clark’s icy exterior.

Clark had a mad crush on Merry back in high school but thought she was too popular for him and a little flakey. While they dance around each other in person (the book is told in alternating chapters from their perspectives), little do they know that they are actually talking to each other online with a dating app. When they finally connect in real life the fun really starts. Clark has built up walls around his heart that he struggles to take down. While Merry, at only 25, has had a string of failed romances. Is she ready for a package deal of Clark and his son? Their chemistry is palpable, but at the heart of the story is the themes of trust and forgiveness.

Clark and Merry are very sweet together. Merry seems so pure and beloved she’s almost like a freaking Disney princess. She has a spine though, which saves her from feeling stereotypical. Clark is a lovely cinnamon roll of a man. I’m really glad we got to see her point of view in the book – it helped flesh out his emotions and character. I think he would have felt flat if we didn’t get to see his motivation. For the most part Merry and Clark’s blossoming love affair is sweet and slow. It’s almost a little like a treacle at times, but there are some surprising steamy scenes that did catch me off guard in the story – hello road head! I actually liked it because it made the relationship feel more human with heat and passion, and a little less like a squeaky clean made for TV Christmas movie. Clark and Merry have real world problems and concerns about the impact of their relationship on the people around them. Clark works for Merry’s fabulous dad. Clark has a young son who gets really attached to Merry. Merry is still trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life. As they join forces and their relationship develops you really see the two of them support and encourage each other.

While Clark and Merry are the stars of the show, there is an incredible cast of secondary characters from loveable dogs to eccentric small town residents. But Merry’s family really stands out as a strong and stable dynamic that leapt from the pages. Merry’s mom, Victoria, reminded me of my own mom: loyal to her family, hardworking, but always down for a glass of wine and a good laugh. And I would happily hang out with her father, Chris. He loves his family so much but also wants them to grow on their own. Merry has two tight siblings whom she loves a lot: they don’t put her up on a pedestal but they are there to support her and stand up for her. And finally, even though Clark didn’t have the most loving parents growing up and is now estranged from them, he has an older brother Sam. Sam returns to live with Clark part way through the book and is the motorcycle tattoo-artist bad boy that a lot of girls dream of. He was the perfect foil to Clark’s goodness, but it was also clear that they love each other a lot.

All in all this is a delightful Christmas book that features hand crocheted penises, a Christmas festival and some rogue hens.

This book was really cute and I loved it. I feel in love with the characters pretty quickly. It was definitely a cute Christmas book.

Clark is a single dad working on a Christmas tree farm in Mistletoe, Idaho. Merry's family owns and operates the Christmas tree farm. She's had bad luck with men. In between all of her volunteering and jobs she befriends Clark. While chatting with someone on a dating app.

The book has you've got mail vibes and is a perfect Christmas romance. I laughed out loud many times. I loved Merry's family and I'm really wanting to go back and read the first in the series. There's some definite spice in this romance.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Merry and Clark. They known each other all their lives and had a high school crush. Merry comes home after college and wants to help on the tree farm. Clark used to work there in high school, he is now the foreman. There is an instant attraction. They have some issues to work out and fall in love.

This book was a really enjoyable read, I blew through it. I liked the characters, there was a good amount of steam, and it really brought the holiday vibes. My main issue is that there was no conflict. This was just a nice normal story of two people falling in love, which is great, but there wasn't any tension or suspense and I felt that was lacking.

This is a cute holiday romance with the usual tropes of boy and girl reuniting, miscommunications, reconciliation, and then the HEA.

I thought that the story seemed really long for what it was, and I just realized it was over 400 pages. The story could have been trimmed back at least 75 pages and still be a cute fluffy romance.

I did enjoy the parts where Merry and Clark communicated via a dating app before they knew it was each other. I liked that they got to know one another before meeting in person. Of course, they already knew each other; they just didn't know it.

Some parts were predictable, but I also appreciated Clark's vulnerabilities regarding romance and relationships. I loved that he stepped up when Jace's mother disappeared from the hospital. He made Jace his number one priority and raised him the best way that he could.

I liked that it was told from both Merry and Clark's voices. We saw how each felt in different situations.

There are some slightly more explicit sex scenes that I wasn't expecting. I don't know why, but I thought it would be a bit lighter.

This is the second in a series, but you don't need to read the first book to enjoy this one. 

We give this 3 paws up. It is an enjoyable book with some interesting characters and a couple of dogs.

I really want to start this by saying I LIKE CHRISTMAS! lol I really really do (when it’s Christmas time) 😅 I didn’t know that going into it I was going to have a hard time with the fact that everything was about christmas lol.

Buuuut with that being said I did really enjoy it because al thought christmas was the overall theme of the book it wasn’t the only holiday mentioned so there was that 🤣 lol I know I sound like a complete declan (you’ll get the reference if you read the book) I promise I don’t judge if you start putting christmas decorations up on November 1st.

The romance itself was cute 🥰❤️ I loved that Merry was a strong willed woman who stood up for the things she believed in and I loved that Clark was super supportive of her… endeavors lol I’ll put it that way so I don’t spoil it 🤣!

Their banter was super funny but it was the best when his son Jace was trying to get everybody to pay up on the swear jar 🤣💀 had me rolling!

This book was such a fun read for Christmas in September vibes! I’m not normally a single parent trope person but I really did enjoy the way this one was written. It was very realistic and believable. No one wants to just shove their kid at someone they might potentially being seeing. It takes time and trust and I feel this was given very fair representation.

Besides that’s I loved the mild enemies to lovers vibes. I would definitely say it’s more friends to lovers and oh boy was I surprised with the spice in this book. Lately rom coms have been doing me dirty by being fade to black not this, it’s a solid 3/5 heat level so at least we get some of the goods!

Good book over all, I would recommend this to anyone who loves the enemies to lovers, single dad, friends to lovers, Christmas tropes.

This is the follow-up to Nick and Noel's Christmas Playlist but can be read as a standalone. Merry Winters has come back to her hometown of Mistletoe, Idaho and Clark Griffin is the new foreman of her parents Christmas tree farm.

The story is told in dual point of view with some steam and has single dad, blind date app/hidden identity and christmassy town tropes. The first half of the book has a You've Got Mail vibe. The second half shows the progression of their relationship set against holiday events. I enjoyed the email messaging and the theme of found family in the story.

SINGLE DAD SINGLE DAD SINGLE DAD. I love me a good single dad romance because it always comes with a little bit of angst and this did not disappoint! I might do a reread over Christmas, because why wouldn't I? This book was the most adorable holiday take on You've Got Mail and it had me swooning and grinning from ear to ear as I read.

There’s Something About Merry is the second installment of Codi Hall’s Christmas series. While this book is apart of a series, readers do not necessarily need to read them all. Hall does a great job of allowing this book to be a standalone. She fills her readers in on all pertinent information so they have a comprehensive understanding of the Mistletoe community.

I was lucky enough to have read the first book as well as the second. I can honestly say that Hall only gets better with time. I enjoyed the first, but I loved There’s Something About Merry. I loved hearing about how the characters from the first book are progressing in life as well as being introduced to new ones.

The slow burn of Clark and Merry’s relationship is everything. I loved watching them go from semi- enemies, to friends, to lovers. I also felt this was super important being that Clark is a single parent. Navigating dating is hard- add in children and things get even more complex!

This book does a great job of addressing subjects such as abandonment, financial struggles, and single parenting. While these subjects are a large part of the story, Hall manages to still leave her readers feeling hope.

Be forewarned this is not your corny Christmas/ holiday love story. There is lots of spice. Therefore, use discretion when recommending or gifting.

This book has what romance readers crave. The story is sweet and the characters are engaging. Oh, and of course, there is a child who plays an important role. There is even the setting of a Christmas tree farm.

The two main characters knew each other in the past. Watch what happens to them in the present.

Those who enjoyed Nick and Noel’s Christmas Playlist will want to take a look at this second title by the author. Anyone who watches Hallmark movies, this one is for you. It has that vibe.

If you could ever picture the softest, cutest Christmas rom-com movie in your head I’m sure it will look similar to the story delivered by Codi Hall in her new novel There’s Something about Merry.

Merry Winters and Clark Griffin have known each other from a young age, but they only got so far as striking a few conversations when working together. Fast forward to the present, they are both adults going through the motions of their separate lives without acknowledging each other. Merry is currently working at the town’s school while Clark has been hired to work at her family’s Christmas tree farm, and they have been crossing paths constantly considering that they’re next door neighbors.

But the best is yet to come, Clark also lives with his 6-year-old son Jace, who has been welcomed with open arms into the Winters family just as much as Clark. Having single dad as a trope AND also kind of a found family vibe, this book will immediately be added to your TBRs if you like those.

As for the romance, the author did an amazing job in bringing into the picture the ‘met-online’ trope, having the main characters meet through an app and exchanging emails like there were letters. From then on, it was sweet, soft and sometimes steamy AND let me tell you that these two don’t go through a third-act breakup!

I’m excited for Holly’s book but I don’t really know what to expect from the love interest, hoping for the best for sure!

I loved this book! While it is centered around the holiday season it can totally be read anytime of the year. I loved Merry and Clark’s story! They both had crushes on each other when they were younger and now that they’re both back at Merry’s family ranch those feelings are coming back even stronger! I really enjoyed reading all the fun texts between the two of them. I cracked up at Merry’s handle name, KnottyGirl25! I also couldn’t get enough of Daisy, Merry’s dog that she adopts! Daisy is hilarious and gives Merry a hell of time! I loved the romance between Clark and Merry. Clark is a single dad and hasn’t given himself a chance for love. I liked that he puts himself out there and with Merry really wants to go all in. I loved in this romance that there isn’t any tiptoeing with Clark’s son about the relationship. He is up front with everyone and I really liked that! There is this one scene where Merry takes care of Clark’s son when he is sick that had my heart melting. I loved her relationship with his son. It added to the story! I am so happy that we didn’t get a third act break up! Both Merry and Clark were able to work together when hardships arose! This is an open door romance. I loved how Clark is trying to go slow and create a relationship that isn’t solely focus on sex but at the same time Merry needed more! Those scenes were so good! There’s a scene where Clark goes down on her in his workshop! That is a scenario I did not imagine fantasizing about until now lol!

What a sweet and sexy feel good Christmas love story! This is like a literary Hallmark movie- if Hallmark movies got a little bit spicy. There's Something about Merry had all the things I wanted in a holiday read and it certainly had me full of the holiday spirit. And tropes I all adore- grumpy/sunshine contrast, a bit of dual identities/connections, single dad and a plucky, ambitious heroine, fun side characters, a heroine whose literal name is Merry, and a family Christmas tree farm. We have those great small town vibes too- including meddling townsfolks. This is a sweet and easy read- the back half has a bit more drama, but it's paired with some steam, and I loved both characters and enjoyed their humor. It has be excited for the Christmas season!

I have to admit that the single father trope is one of my all-time favorites as you get to see the way all the more gooey parts of this manly man that conquers the heart of our heroine and I am just absolutely here for it!!! Combine that with the small town romance vibes, add in the setting of a Christmas tree farm, and I'm just in heaven. I do have to note that this is the second in the series but I truly didn't miss anything from not having read it and may have to book myself a trip back to Mistletoe a little closer to the holidays to watch Nick and Noel fall in love!

A fun romantic comedy. I enjoyed this book. A fun combination of tropes and personal growth. A few open door scenes and lots of innuendos, but I still really enjoyed it.

I’ve been intending to pick up Codi Hall’s Mistletoe Romance series from Audible Plus for a while, but was glad to be able to start here with Merry, and ebook. For a little bit of it, I listened along (advantage of having the audio release a year before the ebook!), but mostly read only. I’m going back for book 1 right away for Merry’s brother Nick’s story!

I really quite enjoyed this second chance, single dad romance, taking place on a Christmas tree farm. Merry’s a teacher but her family has the farm, and her parents have just hired Clark, returning to town, as foreman. Merry remembers Clark from school - she had a crush on him!

Merry and Clark have a bit of flirting going on, but the real deal is the secret messages being exchanged on a dating app that is keeping each occupied. They’re each getting ready to meet their match in person soon…

This was very well written, well crafted and all the characters had such great chemistry, from the siblings to the parents to Merry, Clark and his son Jace. A very cute and sweet holiday romance, that I definitely recommend! If you pick up the audio instead, narrators we’re great too!

This is the perfect story for the holidays!
Merry is a delightful character and I had so much fun following her on her journey to find love. Clark was a grinch and his grumpiness was so cute and funny. This opposites attract, enemies to lovers romance was fantastic from start to finish.
I will admit the beginning of the book starts slow but once it picks up I had no problem getting into the story. Think of this book as You Got Mail but if Hallmark made it a Christmas movie.
I will definitely be reading this again come the holiday season to get me in the holiday cheer!
