A wonderful anthology of sixteen short stories by authors from the Golden Age of Crime, and all pertaining to books. Can’t get better than that. Martin Edwards once again provides the foreword and each story has an initial preface about the author, which is often as enjoyable as the story. If you haven’t read one of these short story anthologies in the British Crime Classics series I highly recommend you do. Authors include widely known Gladys Mitchell, Ngaio Marsh, and Michael Innes to lesser known, yet just as talented S.C. Roberts and Marjorie Bremner. An excellent read.
This book is a keeper...one to reread. It was sent to me by Netgalley for review. Murder and mayhem...intrigue...surprises...characters who are likable and some not so much...Try this...enjoy...
