Anoop Judge’s No Ordinary Thursday displays the complexities of being Indian-American and the sacrifices that have to be made when an individual devoids themself of the mold put on to them by their own culture as well as Western society. The novel takes the usual construct of an Indian individual living in America and rids it of its rich, white, male savior character and includes struggles beyond meeting a parents’ expectations on getting into a good school.
